FYI the shadow dragon yas taken considerable damage. It's not about to keel over on the next round or anything, but it's clearly feeling what you're throwing at it.
And Frightful Presence was all I could do with range since breath weapon not recharged and no movement t left for melee. That is a drsgin dilemma you raise, though. Cluster and get everyone damaged by the breath weapon, spread out and lose that sweet anti-fear aura. FTR: Tetrevess and rhe dragon are 100ft apart.
Edit: and obviously the radiant fireball dissipated before Angus' turn. What I hadn't considered is hiw rhst would effect the Dragon's hidden status. Prior to it, Angus woukd not see it, it's 50ft away. I think that while the light if the fireball would have potentially illuminated it (although RAW I dint think the spell says it does, and Tetrevess' ability only changes damage type) I also think you'd be night blinded by looking at the dragon when the fireball went off, as you're pupils would contract. So, looking beyond your torchlight to see it would still be a challenge enough. It's all a bit mushy really. The raw answer and the one I support is that it is hidden.
If Angus gets within range of blindsight, he will see the dragon
If Angus saw the dragon briefly during the fireball, He will realize the distance is too far for him to be able to attack before it moves again, so instead he will retreat directly southward 30 feet and take the dodge action.
The dragon dives into the water. Swims ro Angus, jumps out and splashes the paladin with icy water, dousing Angus' torch as he hurls his shadowy form from the water and flies toward Samogri (swom 40ft. Object interaction for the splash). The dragon takes flight, in darkness, at a range greater than ten feet from Angus, lands and hides as a bonus action...
Edit above. No hiding, using breath weapon instead. The dragon Flys over Angus, turns and lands on tbe bridge, then the dragon blasts Angus and Samogri with shadow breath
The dragon exhales necrotic energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw, taking 58 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
The map shows where rhe dragon was as a purple box, then a dark blue line for 40ft swim, a circle shows where he emerges feom the water and takes flight, following the light blue arrow, passing Angus, then turning to land on the bridge (40ft more). The dark purple cone is the breath weapon.
There is no hide action taken, i just don't want to edit the text in the last post and flag the roll.
Sam's planar ally, Leviathan, rears it's watery draconic head from the icy waters of the lake, appearing behind the shadow dragon and bellows loudly, summoning another tidal wave to crush the beast, it moves over the bridge, damaging it in the process.
The wave is up to 250 feet long, up to 250 feet tall, and up to 50 feet wide. Each creature in the wave must make a DC 24 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes [roll]7d12[/roll) bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and isn’t knocked prone. The water spreads out across the ground in all directions, extinguishing unprotected flames in its area and within 250 feet of it, and then it vanishes.
<Not for nothing but if i was to have an inkling about making tools, weapons, armor, etc from natural materials, I might think it fortuitous to have the carcass of a white shadow dragon at my disposal. Just saying.>
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sam will see the dead dragon and will go over too the leviathan and neal too it “thank you for the help great one I thank you for taking down this creature, if you need a place to stay go to the jungle island of Chult” and Sam will tell him where he will build his home and base “go now and be free”
persuasion 12
sam will then move over the dead dragon and will ask the others “a dragons scales are very useful we should scavenge what we can”
Facing his fears, the wizard wills himself to stand, cast another radiant fireball for 33 HP damage (dex save DC 21)
He then drops back prone and waits for his fate.
Dex save 10
Angus is up.
(Forgot to roll recharge breath weapon) 5
(Not sure on the mechanics of blindsight. Dragon is hidden, does Angus need to roll Perception to see it? Blindsight only extends to 10 feet...)
(Angus is immune to fear, as is anyone within 10 feet of him, but I think we were all spread out)
Sorry, didn't see you there. I'll put the map up.
I thought I posted it right after I drew the radiant fireball. I guess not.

(Yes, sorry, busy day)

The dragon succumbs the to force of the wave. It's corpse laying upon the bridge, blocking the path to the tower.
Sam, you wanna talk to leviathan or just let him leave? Edit: he doesn't hsve any languages, but I dunno, you could try, I guess.
Anyone want to poke around here? You kind if have to to find the entrance to anything. Just say where you want to go.
