Angus will cast blinding smite as a bonus action, followed by two swifts strikes with his longsword. (If either hits, it does an additional 16 radiant damage, and the slaad must make a DC 16 CON save or be blinded. )
First Longsword Attack: 12 Damage: 12magical slashing + 8radiant
Second Longsword Attack: 15 Damage: 11magical slashing + 2radiant
Disease: any harmful deviation from the normal structural or functional state of an organism, generally associated with certain signs and symptoms and differing in nature from physical injury. A diseased organism commonly exhibits signs or symptoms indicative of its abnormal state.

(Formally, the phage is the vector. Turning into a slaad is the disease, symptoms also include loss of max HP)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The slaad deflects Angus' first slash with the bony claws that protrude from the back of his hand, but Angus uses the momentum to slash the soft underbelly of the beast.
Dac16 Con vs magical effect 6
Feeling the slaad's cut burning beneath spot its's claw punched into Angus' armor, he feels flesh surrounding the wound begin to sear and a sharp pain shoots through the paladin. A moment passes and he feels relief as the swelling subsides and the pain abates.
Sparks fly as Angus" sword hits the creature, drawing for a thick, dark purple fluid. Reeling, the slaad churches at its eyes, but soon rises, squares up to the paladin and roars a gurgling croak into Angus' face.

( LOL. I was just asking if the paladin's immunity to disease came into play here. So, the inabiity to heal, and the daily loss of max hp is affecting him, then? and what level of healing spell would be needed to get him back to normal?)
<Lay on hands shouldn't work*. Lesser restoration should (raw). Paladin immunity should (raw). I said it doesn't affect Angus due to a class feature, but he still knows tbe danger so he can tell the others and it's not meta.>
My view:
<good designer: "check it out: I made this cool new monster whose attacks cause a gradual transformation, so the players feel a sense of urgency to get through the dungeon quickly as the situation gets progressively worse, creating a dread intensity in the game."
other designer: "I made this 2nd level spell that undoes that thing you made.">
*LoH does work, RAW. I just think it's silly you can spend an action and a few HP to cure a disease, personally. Like, how does this improve the game? This is all just a small diversion here, this isn't a major plot point t or anything, I just think it's kind of lame that the DM who ever wants to use any effect called a disease has to make a fiat to overrule an ability PCs are explicitly endowed with by rhe rules.
bot I guess... at least for this round, if the fight continues they might be able to make their next turn if it goes that long
it's been over 48 hours (2 days)?... hope everything is ok

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
So every 6 seconds it has a chance to escape and ambush us from behind?
We should take care of it somehow, tie it up, kill it, banish it to another plane etc.

Akame is up

Here someone posts the opinion that the paladin ability to cure disease with laying on hands can cure the phage:

Anyhow, Akame is up.
Bump.
<you guys want me to bot Akame or should we scrub the combat with the slaad and continue exploring?>
Um, bot, I suppose? I dunno...
bot I guess... at least for this round, if the fight continues they might be able to make their next turn if it goes that long

Bot ok-
Akame cast Hold Monster on the slaad. DC 20 WIS save or be paralyzed.
Slaad Wis save DC20 -1
The slaad is paralyzed.
Did you wish to ascend the upper level of the observatory, or deal with the slaad further?
Angus will ascend looking for any clues to unlocking the mystery of the central tower.
Isn't there a save at the end of each round?
So every 6 seconds it has a chance to escape and ambush us from behind?
We should take care of it somehow, tie it up, kill it, banish it to another plane etc.
Yes, please don't waste it. I may not get another chance to be this useful.
<I actually forgot about the additional saves. You guys want to just run this bit cinematically? It would be far more expedient.>
