"Obviously, no one would leave such a beautiful sword in plain sight without a reason" Khessa becomes suspicious. "This item is practically yelling 'trap for fools'. Do you detect anything, T'bitha? Is there danger? If you do not perceive anything suspicious... and if Dimitri does not find traps near the sword... I could identify it. It would take me a little more than ten minutes; after that, we would know exactly if this weapon is magical, if it is under some spell effect and what powers it has".
Following the others, not hearing much of a threat, Hadi quickly casts his mage hand to pick up the ring that caught his eye. He then responds, "Was this likely a temple when it was made?"

Unless she percives a more immediate threath (OOC: referring to her 22 perception roll requested before), Khessa comes to check on Tristan, helping him to get up with genuine concern in her blue eyes: "What's going on, Tristan? Were the construct's claws poisoned? Aren't you completely healed? That liquid on the ground... did you cough up blood?"
"I was a little worried about Dimitri's health, at the start... with his cane, his mask, his aversion to be touched and all..." the tall warrior-mage thinks "but Tristan now almost seems to be even worse! What's going on here? It is because of that... 'something' that T'bitha 'just feels off'?"
Tristan raises a hand, warding her off "No this is something different. I am afraid I am not entirely well. During my last trip into this forest I must have...caught a malady. Ozemon has offered to help me with a cure, which is proving to be difficult as we are not sure what my ailment is."
Brushing the dirt off of his armour, Tristan sighs If this happens in combat, I will be worse than useless. I will not allow myself to let my group down, I must find a way to better deal with the effects.

T’bitha looks curiously at the mausoleum and turns to Hadi, “No, I don’t think a temple. But whomever is buried here in this mausoleum may have had some importance compared to the souls buried here marked with simple headstones.”
T’bitha looks closer at the mausoleum to see if there are any inscriptions either naming the individual buried inside or any chronological events detailing the life of whomever is entombed in the mausoleum.
With an 18investigation, you don't find any writings or markings on the outside, but you do notice the iron gate is unlocked. It's just in a closed position. Looking beyond the gate, you see a small staircase headed underground, and some markings on the walls in elvish. You'll need to enter the mausoleum itself if you'd like to fully read what the writings say, but from where you are you can make out ".. fallen from grace .. now reborn .. among us .. "
You push the gate open and step inside the structure to get a better look, T'bitha.
T'bitha and anyone who decides to enter into the mausoleum that speaks elvish and/or celestial
On one wall of the mausoleum there is an elven script, and on the opposite wall there is a celestial script. Both read the following: "Eternally alive, Ambriel, the Witch rests here. Once fallen from the grace of the heavens, she wandered aimlessly in pursuit of power. Now reborn, a warlord of the hells, Ambriel, the Blood Witch seeked the power to return to the heavens, to seek revenge for her exile. She studied among us, until we learned of her. Now, she rests below."

Dimitri eyed their exchange suspiciously, the dark blue of the eye cold and still. He did not care about what illness Tristan may have, but that he would be sensible enough to know his limits. He gave Tristan a long glance. "If it affects the job, we need to know."
“Hey, there appears to be some writing on the walls of the mausoleum. I think I see stairs that head down also.”
T’bitha curiously pushes the unlocked gate aside and gets a closer look at the elven writing to read it in it’s entirety.
Dimitri followed T'bitha in, using his cane to test the way in front of him. He stopped in front of the wall, squinted, reading the cursive scripts, and the corner his lips curl into a satisfied grin. "It's the crypt. We are here."
Running the ring over his fingers, Hadi pockets it to check later and then follows towards the crypt. Reading the inscription he says, “Well, that’s not ominous enough eh. This is no ordinary crypt it seems. Those of power created this to bury those of power.”
"Great job guys!" Khessa shows all her excitement "Now we only have to find the urn!"
But she can not read neither elvish nor celestial: "What is written here?"
Finally, she thinks of the sword: "If this is the crypt, the sword might be a trap... but might as well have a connection with what we search. I'll Identify it. As I told, it will not take long... ok?"
And with that, she starts intoning arcane chants, holding her rod in a hand, a black pearl in the other, gently touching the item every now and then...
(OOC: as you may guess, casting Identify as a ritual)
Hadi reads the inscription for Khessa, and then seeing her working to identify the sword, takes the same time to ritually cast Detect Magic, whistling softly to himself as he does (and once it’s cast also checks to see if the ring glows or not). Once cast he’ll look around the entrance area to see if anything stands out.
Khessa and Hadi you both spend the next 10 minutes working on your rituals. Hadi, you focus on drawing energy from each major school of magic, while Khessa, you pull the sword into your lab and begin meditating over it while drawing divination energy from your surroundings.
Hadi
You learn the ground you're sitting on is affected by an ancient, much more powerful version of the hallow spell. Other than that, you don't sense any magic nearby. Khessa's sword nor your ring seem to radiate any magic.
Khessa
At the end of your ritual, you sense no magic coming from the sword. It's just a very ornate, beautiful sword.
Looking at the ground around him, Hadi let’s out a whistle of amazement, and says, “I may have found the cause of the fog. Though it’s hard to know for sure exactly what effects they used, there is an aura of energy designed to protect this place. Fitting of the one mentioned in the inscription. It’s likely this is not the only magicks we will find here…”
"Thanks Hadi" smiles Khessa warmly, as the elf finishes reading for her.
"Poor Ambriel..." comments the blonde arcane warrior "Fallen from grace first... aimlessly living after... and now, eternally alive..." the tall warrior-mage shivers "...in a crypt?! Not a fate I would yearn for. Should we meet her, who knows, maybe we could help her to get a better life... if her bitterness has not driven her madly evil and turned her into a danger for all, that is".
"The sword has not magic of any kind in it, anyway" she informs all. "But it should be of value... will someone take it?"

Looking at Dimitri, Tristan scowls "I am fine. I am far more likely to drop dead from a sword than this cur- sickness."
Following the others into the tomb, Tristan gazes at the inscription with veiled emotions. Drawing his blade, an eerie purple light fills the small room. Studied among us? Was it someone I once knew? Please gods, do not make it so.
Looking around, Tristan searches for any sign of openings or passages inside. Investigation: 22
Looking at Dimitri, Tristan scowls "I am fine. I am far more likely to drop dead from a sword than this cur- sickness." ...
Khessa pats the elf on the shoulder: "Great! Lucky us, it seems it does not occur too frequently. Against that construct you fought like a demon! In spite of having a less impressive blade than mine, you gave it no less trouble than I did!" the blonde arcane warrior smiles "It must be not easy that someone can kill you with a sword too!"
"Anyway," she points out "you spoke of a disease - but you were about to say 'curse', did not you? You know? I also think it might be more a curse than a disease... For non magical diseases, even for the worst of them, it does usually not require too much effort, for a somewhat powerful cleric, to heal them once and for all. If Ozemon, instead of advising you to find a cleric, tried something... unusual, then may be there is magic at work. How did you get this... 'problem'? Did it manifest suddenly? Anyway, if you like, as soon as we are back from the mission, I can try to learn if there is a spell that is troubling you... The ritual is quick and easy. It is the same I just did on the sword. Should we discover which spell is affecting you, finding a proper countermeasure should be easier! When we are back, if you like, just ask!"
Then the tall warrior-mage focuses again on the crypt... and its eventual dangers.
No need for any investigation checks when it comes to looking for a passage. Further towards the back of the mausoleum is a staircase leading deeper in.
Tristan
You do find some inset buttons on a column near the stairs. You spot 3 of them. They're hidden fairly well.

“Ambriel…the fallen angel.” The drow reads the name from the script upon the wall. T’bitha re-reads the inscription several times trying to recall if she has read similar texts from Ozemon’s library and if there was a story behind what she did that caused her exile and to be a fallen angel. She asks Eilistraee to help recall any information.

As he spots the buttons, he calls out "There seems to be some sort of control here, but I am not sure what it could be. Perhaps it deactivates some form of trap?"
