At the sound which comes from his illusion, Jhaartael frowns, but says nothing.
((At his next round)) Once the displacer beasts are at the range of his illusion, Jhaartael gestures as if running his fingers through a waterfall and says "liltië cala". Several orbs of amber light appear by the displacer beasts. Jhaartael carefully orchestrates their movements, dancing just out of the reach of the beasts, leading them in a zig-zag, further away from the building. The zig-zag also buys more time for the rest of the party to reach the tower.
When the beasts are nearing the extent of this spell ((120ft)), he sets the lights to continue moving in a pattern of interweaving circles. Turning to look toward the entrance where his comrades should be, Jhaartael whispers "lan terpata", disappearing and reappearing alongside his comrades. Looking back at the beasts, he sees the orbs now extinguishing as he is beyond their range. Jhaartael waves his ringed hand, palm open, in a slow arc before him saying,"dínenemma". About 5-10 feet away from the door, the air shimmers for a second, as the 15 foot square illusion of the lonely entrance without the party on its threshold blocks the view of the beasts as to what is really happening there.
Akyan is also a bit taken aback by Jhaartael's spell. The high elf could have at least warned them before doing that....didn't he specifically say he'd imitate a wounded animal? Why the change? Shrugging it off, he dashes towards the door alongside Tamryn, keeping an eye on the beasts and the surrounding area as the wood elf checks the lock, wouldn't want any other creatures sneaking up on them.
Everyone arrives at the door quickly and unnoticed. The lock is fairly straightforward, and fresh off your recent teaching and training proves to be no more than an exercise in speed. Jhaartael's very effective illusions were successful enough that the displacer beasts are still prowling around in confusion, quite disappointed at not finding unattended infants to devour. (Wow, that was kind of dark. Shame on you, Jhaartael! ;)
Once through the door, you find yourselves in a curving hallway that runs along the outer circular wall, you can go clockwise or counterclockwise (left or right). There are no other creatures immediately visible.
"Alright. Great job guys, we're in. Now, uh, which way? Don't suppose one way is better than the other?" Unless someone else offers up a reason for a direction, Mina turns right and starts heading South, slowly.
“We are on a time limit, so we don’t want to have to backtrack if we go the wrong way. We could split into two groups, and stay in contact with my telepathically.” Akyan replies quietly.
Turning toward the door they all just entered through, Jhaartael draws his dagger. The blade flips, flashing in his hand so that he holds it for precision. Leaning slightly towards the wooden frame, Jhaartael quickly carves a crescent moon on the frame. He deftly flips the blade in his hand again and sheathes it. Facing the party once again, he says ,"So we know which door we came in, incase we get turned around. Corellon will guide us."
"Right, excellent work team," Kyrsa says. "Two groups is a good idea." She glances briefly down each corridor, "Alright. Mina, Akyan, you two come with me. Tamryn, Jhaarteal, and Lyndaran, how about you take the other route?"
She looks over her team as if expecting them to question her suggestion--which sounded more like an order really. She is confident that this is the best combination for their groups, and right now her primary concern is the time limit. They can't afford to waste time. Then she looks to Akyan and asks, "Who will you make a link with?"
"Ah yes, good idea to split up. Man, your ability to link with us sure is quite the gift." When Jhaartael makes the mark, "Hey! great idea, would hate to come upon this door thinking it was a new one and open it up to the big cats. Nice!"
Mina smiles at Kyrsa as she splits them up and nods, that works for her, she's just ready to go.
The drow nods to Kyrsa, and shrugs when Mina compliments him. So far in his opinion, that 'gift' has been the only useful thing he has offered this group, the rest of the time he's been just about useless, failing to open locks, nearly getting killed twice, and even getting possessed by a bloody ghost. Communication is great, but he hopes he can be more than just this parties personal sending stone. "I'm just glad I can be useful." He replies, before looking back to Kyrsa. "I believe my training has strengthened my abilities, so I should be able to link up with all three of them."
The corridors have stone walls and slightly arched ceilings about nine feet high in the center. The floor is also flagstone, and sounds echo. The temperature is cool. The passageways follow the outer wall left and right a quarter around the circle, and both contain a winking portrait of Breezy hanging on the inner wall (You check behind, but there is nothing there but bare stone wall). Each hallway stops at a closed wooden double door. Listening at the doors, you hear humanoid voices behind each. The doors do not appear to have locks on them.
After linking his mind to those of the other group, Akyan follows Mina and notes the voices behind the doors. He finds it odd that that none of the doors are locked. Either these people were extremely confident in their guards, or this is some kind of trap. Probably the later, seeing how easy it was to slip past those cat things. Quietly walking up next to Mina, he tries to listen in on what they are saying.
The drow's eyes narrow as he hears the voice behind the door. This really feels like a trap. Taking a step back he whispers to Kyrsa and Mina. "It sounds like a child, but since this door isn't locked, I have a bad feeling about this. The voice doesn't sound distressed at all, which only adds to my suspicion. I'm going to contact the other group and ask if they've found anything."
Focusing on his mental link, Akyan contacts Jhaartael, Tamryn and Lyndaran. "We've encountered an unlocked door, with what sounds like a child behind it. I'm worried that we may be walking into a trap. Have you three found anything useful?"

Lol, nope!!

correct?

Akyan hears the voice of a small child humming or singing or playing in some way.
