Sorrow nods when she sees Vee take up station, then ruffles Mills head. 'Lead on, on fancy footwork. But please-lets introduce ourselves as a group to any strangers we meet from now on.' she says with a smile and twinkle. She lays her hand to the axe hilt and motions forward (to the North).
Millwater points to a wood of trees away from the trail, "There was a soft light glowing through the trees. Daylight washed it out now. Do you want to check it out or head up the trail?"
You all spend the day following the path as it continues to lead you ot the North and east along the hills and mountains. As you see the sun going down after another long day of walking you decide to find a place to camp. Once again you spot a hill to set up for the night. Once again during the night as you take turns watching over your companions you see though the tree a distance glow. It is brighter now and you estimate that by the end of tomorrow you may be able to see that this glow is. Could it be a fire or some some other means of light. If it is a fire it is a big fire to see the glow so well this far away.
Thus ends another day of travel. You did not see anything besides common forest creatures during you trek. Millwaters still forages ahead to act as a scout while looking for plants he can cook to feed the group. He stays much closer to the party however. I need a perception check from those in the front of the party. Millwater, Sorrow and whoever else is in the first three. I do need a survival/nature check from the ranger and druid. Which ever one has the better bonus for you.
Also in the discord is a map showing you your approximate position on your journey.
Running all day from patches of vegetation, around trees, into dips and gullies. Searching for edibles and ruffage to fill up his bag and fuel the party. Stopping at the top of a hill with the sun getting low in the sky. Doing a 360⁰, marveling at the view, he then picks up a stick.
"It's over Anikin, I have the high ground!" Millwater shouts theatrically holding a janky stick, reenacting a play he saw in the city.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
During the night Millwater was able to see what appeared to be a patrol of sorts moving along the trail you have been following. As the patrol passed by he was able to count four Worgs with riders, two bugbears and four orcs. They did not sense or see any tracks that would lead them to your camp site. They were heading in the same direction as you are. Tailfeathers in the morning is able to tell the party that she feels a wrongness in the area you are currently in but it is North and West of where you are.
Do you wish the head back to the path and continue towards the cave you know is waiting or head off in another direction to possibly come back to the cave after you deal with what Tailfeathers senses?
Millwater tells the story of a squire who betrays his order and turns into a dreadknight, while preparing a pot on stew over a concealed pit fire. "That play was 9 acts that ran the entire day with intermissions. Theater, carnival, and circus all in a huge coliseum. Master really let us have indulgence that day. It was fun and wonderful!"
Later in the night, his ears hears something! He opens his eyes to see a patrol of goblinoids moving north on the trail down the hill. He counts silently as the goblinoids pass. Deciding it's better to let his companions sleep right now.
He wakes up the camp a little earlier then usual, one by one, while serving breakfast. "4 worgs and riders, 2 bugbears, and 4 orcs passed beneath the camp heading up the trail!" After waking Tail Feather, and hearing her feelings about the northwest, he asks "Do you think it might be related to Rheilyssia?"
J'nah shrugs, " who knows how many outposts she has here. I can't imagine there's many more." J' nah also, as expresses his opinion that he'd prefer to ambush smaller groups outside the caves then inside them. So if we run into another group, if we think we could get the drop on them we should consider it.
Sorrow pinches the top of her nose between her eyes and closes them momentarily in concentration. Without opening them ‘Did not the Lady say North lay an evil to clear and let her influence grow again? Seems to me that is the way to go-and it also fits into the ‘outside the cave’ J’nah has suggested’ she says in a low voice. She nods her head at J’nah, pulls her balaclava up and covers her head with the hood of her cloak. ‘Eat fast but quietly. We break camp in half a bell-just point me in the direction you want to go.’
Vee nods and, like Sorrow, speaks softly. 'I agree with Tail and J'nah. Let's fix this wrongness first, then come back to the cave. We'll want to stick together more, so please no more scrounging for food-if we see it close at hand, fine. But we can always eat the rats we have.'
Tailfeathers looks at Millwater and says "I believe Rheilyssia has a shrine in the North cave we were sent to clear. That is where this trail we have been following clearly lays after what you saw Millwater. The feeling I have about a wrongness is different than what I feel towards the cave we are heading to. I feel we need to take care of what is North and west of here first. Like J'Nah said and I agree lets take those in the cave outside rather than face them in the cave."
Millwater looks up to Tail and follows her gaze to the northwest. "That's good enough for me! Always darkest before dawn, let's make use of it." He says as he slings his backpack on.
"I had no idea you like rats too!" Millwater says to Veeshal, following alongside "I got dozens of recipes," he say excitingly "how do you prefer them? Broiled, steamed, baked, fried,..."
As the morning gets a bit brighter you all break camp and head towards the North and West away from the trail you have been following and into the hilly forest/ It does not take long for you all to feel some of the weight of the pressing matter of the northern cave to come off you shoulders as you enjoy the beauty of the wild forest and the array of animal noised the are around you. Tailfeathers walks beside Sorrow as she guides the party forward into the wild unknown. It is shorty before midday when you come across a shrine that is totally out of place in these woods. When you glance at Tailfeathers it is clear this is not the wrongness she has felt. As you get ready to move away a band of Orcs comes through the trees to your north. Bit parties seem surprised the other is there. It is now clear to you the Orcs were coming to this Shrine. It is a shrine you now feel needs to be destroyed but first you will need to deal with these orcs. As you turn to face them you can see these Orcs have better armor than most Orcs.
I will need actions as well as initiative rolls for everyone.
J'nah, cries, "Shit!" in halfling and immediately starts beating feet backwards to increase range and grabs some arrows. He says behind his line of allies keeping as much distance as he can between himself and the orcs. Figuring his allies if they target them will attack the closest Orcs, J'nah pics two orcs near each other behind the immediate front row.
Sharpshooter will be VERY useful in this fight! :) (Ignore half and 3/4's cover.)

Millwater's hackles rise a moment before his brain registers the danger of the orcs at the stone shrine. (So many!) He thinks slower than he reacts as he jumps onto the shrine's sacrificial table to get a better view. Eyes wide with both hands open after counting passed 10. "16!" He says as he scans the area.
Vee, in a sotto voice and straight face 'Skinned, gutted, marinated in the Queens venom, breaded in spider silk, deep fried in Driders blood, served with a trencher of sun-dried violet fungi and with a flagon of iced orc blood to wash it all down.'
He then gets a far-off, deep thought look to his eyes as he runs thru his possible spell options all the while moving up with the rest to the center of the shrine, having switched from Xbow to hammer with no conscious thought about it.
As they all move towards the interior/shelter of the shrine. you hear a low deep growl coming from Sorrow. "This is sacrificial shrine. my friends. Which means those brutes out there have a prisoner they intend to brutally sacrifice. We may not have seen it but trust me-there IS one. And I can't-WON'T-sit idle.' She mutters softly (you assume they're curses) but animatedly, gripping her axe till the handle creaks.
As she takes her first step, her head comes up sharply. 'Hmm. Maaayyy be...' She pulls the balaclava down and shucks off the travel cloak, exposing her orcish and demonic features fully. When her arms are exposed, you see leather muscle bands around both biceps, each sporting 4 different bones sewn to the leather. She then pulls out a plain wire necklace to compliment the armbands and complete the ensemble-showing off the fact there are 2 large serrated and curved teeth (as big as her open hand) separated by 4 other smaller straighter teeth.
'Whattaya think? Savage but regal looking? Am I Tanarukk enough to cause unease or fear??'
Tailfeathers steps up in front of everyone and casts Spike growth in the area between the companions and the orcs across the way through the trees. As she cautions her companions in a low voice to not enter the area or they will suffer injuries she steps back so she is not in the front. You see two Orcs move forward and are slowed down some as they enter the spell are grwing with some pain. A third Orc moves to the side to avoid the spells effects. All three do however toss a javelin at the party members. Missing Tailfeathers, J'nah and Millwater. J'nah fires off two arrows with one hitting a Orc causing it to bellow in pain. Mouser casts a spell to hid the shrine and then attempts to hide behind the shrine itself. Sorrow steps forward to be in the front of the party but still behind the area of effect for the spell and shows off her Orcish heritage. Seven more orcs step forward into the area of the spells effects as they each throw one of their javelins at the party members. They also bellow a challenge towards Sorrow calling her a traitor of her ancestor. They tell her Gruumsh will damn her for eternity. A Javelin hits Veeshal for 9 damage and Sorrow for 16 damage. Another one stumbles with his javelin stabbing himself in the foot. The other javelins miss Tailfeathers, Mouser, Veeshal, sorrow and J'nah. Millwater stands on the sacrificial rock amidst the dried blood and scream at the orcs in a scared fashion. Veeshal stand next to Sorrow with his war hammer at the ready. The next five orcs step forward to toss their javelins at the party members as another one moves to head around the effected area. Tailfeathers is hit for 9 damage, Veeshal is hit for 7 more damage as Mouser is hit for 8 damage. Thus ends this round.
I need everyones next actions. Still all party members are up as well as all 16 Orcs.
