Elon slices through and smashes the troll's arms as it tries to defend itself. As his strikes land home, Solomon's rays incinerate the disgusting brute.
Evelyn's first arrow sails wide and strikes (3) Elon. Whoops! Her second arrow, however, strikes true and fells the champion once and for all.
Congratulations on a great fight! Everyone take a level, a long rest, treasure, and narrative will follow soon.
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Bründir's phalanx breaks and scatters across the battlefield, collecting bodies of allies and ensuring foes are truly slain. The unit is surprisingly versatile as there is a combination of healers, archers, and frontline fighters. Regardless of their function, each stands ready to fight alongside their brothers and sisters. A few of the healers come by to provide hasty remedies for your wounds.
Bründir approaches your party as the battlefield clears, "Ye did'na think to wait fer us? I 'spose it can'na be helped, The Commander likes his surprises. Prolly thought ye would'na venture so boldly if ye knew we were on yer heels." Giving a shrug, he shouts a command and his formation readies itself to move again, though a quarter of its number (12 total) are left behind to see to the bodies and the exit road.
The party makes its way west with a guard of three-dozen seasoned infantry under Bründir's command. Within twenty minutes, you come across the beginnings of a scattered, ruined settlement of semi-permanent structures around a small lake. Across the pool, a massive cave mouth can be found. All told, the settlement seems quiet enough, but there's no telling what may be in store. A fog had hung around the area when you first arrived, but it is slowly lifting to reveal at least four-dozen ramshackle tents and huts near the water.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With Solomon's help, Shy salvages bits and pieces of hide. In the right hands and for the right price, it could make a superior set of armor. You also manage to collect 1 vials of dragon blood and a collection of bone fragments. Unfortunately, the bones' weight will not allow you to take massive pieces of the skeleton.
As Elon sweeps through a few of the houses, only garbage and basic furnishings are found. If these raiders collected any plunder, they did not keep it in their dwellings. As the group nears the water, you can see that the entrance to the cave shows signs of frequent and large activity. A makeshift altar and several cages sit outside the mouth.

OOC: Regarding the bones, could I collect one large enough that it could be fashioned into some sort of wand. Or perhaps work to incorporate elements into my own?
(I'm always hesitant about just doling out a full skeleton, but there are many uses that the bones could be used for, and very few need full, major bones. Spreading the load between everyone's packs, you collect an assortment of bones ranging from the size of your hand to the length of an arm to fill an entire backpack. To pick a solid number, let's go with 14 Black Dragon bones.)

The cave is eerily silent and the altar is stained red. It doesn't take a genius to see that the stain is blood, but its hard to tell how recently it was used. The cages all hang open and empty, while the last living prisoner from the onset of the battle steps forward, "This is where they kept us. The altar is where Szazzul demanded blood and torture for his amusement."
Entering the cave, it's a large, expansive chamber, easily 100' deep by 60' wide, and at least 40' high. It's no surprise, as Szazzul stood as large as an elephant (for those who would know what those are :P). Exploring the cave, you find piles of bones and weapons scattered about. It becomes very clear that the master of this cave held little regard for who was maimed or killed for his pleasure or hunger. In the back, an alcove sits tucked away, the entrance only large enough for a beast like Szazzul to squeeze through. A veritable mountain of riches await you within. Several chests lie are scattered across the floor, some with contents spilled over adjacent rotted corpses.
(Loot time! This is no exaggeration either: 16,000gp, 1800pp, 13 gems of absolutely flawless cut and purity (500gp each), and a particularly ornate longsword buried to its hilt in a corpse's chest.)

Is the dragon's body still there? If so Evelyn will try to harvest any scales, teeth, or claws that she can before they leave.
OOC: Ooo Yeah!
Solomon will walk over and help Evelyn and try to get some things of his own. Specifically hide, blood, and teeth.
