Tap refilled his waterskins after drinking from them heavily. When the group goes ashore, he helps them ground the boats and assists Khan in unloading the chests.
At the mention of predators, Tap looked around warily attempting to detect any threats trying to hide in the downpour.

Vart finds a large tree. He first of all checks out the canopy above to make sure that there is nothing lurking above (1st Perception Roll). He then sits down with his back to the tree pulls his hood up and keeps watch out into the jungle. (2nd Perception Roll) and proceeds to wait out the storm
“Greggor knows little of de gods. If Chul is de domain of dis diety, vill not prayers to other gods offend him?”
As you hunker down under the canopy of trees Zee looks over at Greggor.
"I heard what you said before. Ubtoa would not be offended if you prayed to other gods. He cares for his children here in Chult but knows the other gods may have their children running around in his jungle. He does not interfere with the affairs of the other gods. But don't disrespect him or you will feel his wrath."
Eku and Zee both make that hand gesture they did before.
Greggor frowns at Eku, again embarrassment running through him. Thankfully the rain masks much. Eager to change the subject, he inquires about the gestures Eku and Zee make.
Elvoril will drink and eat some while waiting out the storm. Turning to Eku he asks are we going to have to camp here tonight due to the storm and the predators that will come out in it’s wake? Is there anything we should set up as a defense?

Eku explains "That is the way we show respect to Ubtoa. It is his sign that was taught to us by his high priests."
That's a good idea, we could set up some traps. What do you think Eku and Zee?
"If you want to go out in that rain and set up traps, be my guest. But I doubt anything will come at us in here during the rain. They would be waiting in ambush for when we leave this place." Eku says.
As you look out into the jungle you can only see 15 feet in front of you right now. The rain is coming down so hard it's like a wall. And the only thing you can really hear is the water. When you talk you need to get real close and you're almost yelling in the other person's ear.
Elvoril will drink and eat some while waiting out the storm. Turning to Eku he asks are we going to have to camp here tonight due to the storm and the predators that will come out in it’s wake? Is there anything we should set up as a defense?
"I doubt we will have to camp here. The rains usually last an hour or two when they are like this. As for the predators. They are always dangerous right after a storm. They are probably tracking us now and setting up ambushes." Eku says with a wicked smile. "Or nothing will be around and we will be fine. It is Ubtoa's choice whether we become food or not. As for defense. If you do want to camp here for the night it would be fine but as I said. I doubt we would need it. Better just wait and see what happens."
"So what now? How long do we wait?"
Zee looks over at Thor. "We wait as long as it takes. Once it starts letting up we can leave but as you can tell there is no visibility right now. We can step out of here and a Tyrannosaurus could be standing 20 feet away and we wouldn't see him or hear him. When this happens you just need to let it run its course. Heavy rains like this never last more than 6-8 hours max. Usually, about 2 hours like Eku said"

Tap had never been so wet in his life, he felt like he would be dryer if he submerged himself in the river where the pelting rain drops couldn't reach him. It was as if the rain was pressing down on him, into him.
His feathers felt heavy with water and he felt as if he had never been so far from his dream of flying. To lift his spirits, or perhaps to match them, he sang a song.
You know a lot about the jungle don't you? How'd you end up growing up here? Is it a touchy subject? We can leave it alone if you wish...
Zee looks at Khan confused. "I've been over this before I am sure. I am an archeologist. I was a gladiator in my youth. I started fighting in the arena at the age of 16 and by the time I was 18 I was the champion of Chult. I made enough money to retire from the life of fighting and it was able to fund my expeditions into the jungle to find lost civilizations and tombs. I was able to find the lost ancient relics of my people and give them back to the people. I've been living in the jungle for twenty years now and I love my job and I am at peace in the jungle. I am one with the jungle." Zee looks around at the party before focusing on Khan once again. "So what brings a bard deep into the jungles of Chult? I'm sure when you are done you will have a glorious tale to tell when you leave Chult and head back to the Sword Coast."
After about another hour of sitting around in this cramped little alcove of sorts, just as quickly as the rain started, it stops. Zee gets up and holds her finger to her lips and steps out of the alcove. She looks around the clearing and her body begins to shimmer. You think it may be your mind playing tricks on you but Zee seems to be shrinking. Her human features begin to transform in front of you. Her body begins to grow larger and she starts to lean forward. As her hands touch the ground the become legs and her body gets thicker and plated with a natural tough looking skin. Her head begins to transform and three large horns begin to sprout from her forehead. It only takes a few moments but where Zee stood is now a triceratops. She looks over at the party and you could swear it winks at you before it rushes into the woods.
Eku smiles at the shocked faces of the party. "I bet you didn't see that coming. Let's go back to the boats. She will keep us safe from predators for the moment while we can get back underway."
As you make your way back to the shore you hear in the brush a loud roar and a loud thunderous crash.
"I guess Zee found something waiting for us. We should hurry. She will be fine." Eku says as she picks up the pace back to shore.
You make it back to the shore and you notice the boats are filled with water and any gear that was left inside is laying on the 'beach' area. It takes you a little while but you are able to empty the boats of water and collect all your gear and get everything back in order. As you get ready to disembark, the ground begins to tremble and you hear loud crashes coming from the jungle.
A triceratops comes bursting through the treeline heading straight towards the boats, as it gets to within 15 feet of you it begins to transform back into Zee. The transformation is complete just as she steps up to the canoe. You see blood on her face but no injuries on her body. Zee adjusts her bow and fixes her scimitar(I originally said she had a longsword but I switched it to scimitar) and machete on her belt.
"Are you ready to go?" Zee says with a big smile as she begins to push the canoe into the water. "Don't just stand there land lubbers or I'll keelhaul you." She says in her pirate voice.
You make your way up river for the rest of the day without incident and as the sun begins to set the guides bring you to the shore, grounding the boats. Everyone takes long pulls on their waterskins as the exit the boats and begin to drag gear onto the land. Endril begins to set up camp as Eku pulls out her fishing tackle and Zee pulls out her bow and starts to head towards the jungle to forage.
Thor looks in amazement as Zee transforms into the beast. "That's not something you see everyday..."
Thor doesn't go and look for firewood this time but will cast light to help the party see as they set up camp. "I think I will stay here tonight seeing as how much trouble I caused last night... "

He is obviously successful and hauls in a large fish. For the first time the party sees his normally very reserved nature replaced with a level of excitement. However upon seeing the amount of fish that Eku has already caught and Zee coming back with a boar, he releases the fish gently back into the river saying something in a foreign language.
So where'd you learn how to do THAT!? That was totally awesome! I wish I could've been there to see you take on whatever it was you fought...
As for what brings me to the jungle... Well, I grew up in the countryside. It was very boring there, I was always looking for more excitement. Eventually I came across some musical instruments and found out I was quite good at playing them. I ended up leaving my family and traveled across the land looking for people I could perform for (it even got me some good connections with very important people). One day I ran into these guys and the rest became history. Now we're here to help someone who offered to pay a large sum of money for use to figure out why people who were brought back from the dead are now decaying and dying once again. It's been discovered that it's evil black magic caused by some sort of object. We're all here because we felt like it was our to stop it.
It's much like how you feel like you have a mission to help the people of Chult recover lost artifacts from the past.
Would you like to hear a song? I know you said earlier you would like to hear one. Do you have any special requests?
