It's hard to tell what the creatures' conversation is about exactly, since it seems to be mostly telepathic. However as you watch they gradually become more and more agitated, to the point that you think "argument" is probably a better word for it, and they even start to punctuate their point with occasional spoken words, mostly in a language or languages that you don't understand, but you pick up the occasional word that sounds like the Common for "duty", "guard", "deserve", and "sky-stone", the latter probably referring to the meteorite. The smaller creatures cower, like they think violence could erupt, and certainly neither side is giving any ground; for all you know they could be locked in this impasse for weeks.
"Hmm... it seems like they're fighting against each other for the stone, rather than ferociously trying to guard it. I'd say we take advantage of their argument and try to retrieve it, which I honestly dislike, or..." Her cat ears twitch apprehensively as she says this, as she assumes that her crewmates would try to do the former: "Or... we could ask them what in the nine lives are they fighting over... and why."

[It's your Starlight Step racial trait, right? Hm. By default (and by analogy with Misty Step) I'd say it has a twinkly starlight effect (kind of like a Star Trek transporter VFX), but I think we can say that being invisible suppresses that as well.
I'll pull back the curtain a little and be up front about what I'll ask of you for this plan. To get close enough you'll need to make another stealth check, with advantage (you're invisible and beholders are obviously pretty reliant on sight, but they can hear¹). The meteorite is too heavy for you to lift with your 14 strength, so you'll need to make a strength check to get hold of it enough to be considered carrying it for the purposes of teleporting with it—and a possible consequence for failure on that check will be losing concentration on your Invisibility. Teleporting away will succeed automatically, but I will finally ask for a sleight of hand check to see whether the beholders notice the meteorite vanish in front of their many very eyes.
¹ Unclear whether they can also smell; as the old joke goes, beholders have no noses, so how do they smell? Awful!]
Icarus whispers "Thank you. I think together we can pull this off. Can anyone else create an illusion of the meteor so when we lift and take it and blink out you can replace it with a replica?"
(Since Princess can do the same things as Icarus, so could she aid him and give advantage on each of the checks?)
[Oooh, so this is going to be a bit of a devil's bargain. With two of you, you'll get advantage on the second and third checks, but you'll lose the advantage on the first, since there's now twice as much chance of being heard approaching.]
"Well" he softly sighs "Alright, let's do this Princess. On the count of 3 we turn invisible. Then we walk carefully over there trying to be sneaky quite. Pick up the rock a little (and quietly) and when we got it in hand we teleport back to this spot. Good? For the rest of you. Stay ready. First, they could hear me and we need to bail out of here fast. and Second if we do get out with it, we need to hustle fast out to get picked up."
[Alright! Give me one stealth, one athletics with advantage and one sleight of hand with advantage (for efficiency we can roll them all at once, though if one fails the others might be moot)]

Icarus says "I can go in invisible and teleport out?"
(DM: I presume my teleport dose not give any outward appearances, especially while invisible; correct?)
