Once the bodies are hidden and they’ve reached the cottage, Veyran lets Brix knock on the front door and goes to the side to try and circle the home and find a window he might be able to peek through.
As you are poking around the cottage trying to see inside your ears are drawn to the sound of footsteps approaching from the woods. A older human woman steps out and looks surprised to see you all.
“What the blazes are you all doing near my house!? I swear if this is another attempt by Crelik to help the elderly.”
"I assure you ma'am that is not the case." says Brix as he tries to put on his best salesman face. "We come seeking knowledge that you might have. Could we continue this discussion inside?"
Belnum comes around the corner of the house, greeting the old lady questioning Brix. "We assure you miss that it will only take a moment of your time, and then we will be on our way." he says grinning.
”As long as this isn’t a help the elderly type thing or you trying to sell me nothing! I don’t buy snake oil or anything! Come on inside then.”
As she passes a necklace stands out to you all. It appears to have a piece of meteorite rock at the end. Much smaller than the one you found at Crelik’s but obviously the same.
"Actually we're here to see if you will be able to provide some insight. We asked around and it seems people believe you to be quite knowledgeable. But to get to the point we would like to know about the meteor. Anything you can tell us would be greatly appreciated." placates Brix as they enter the cabin.
“Never seen anything like that before. Does this have something to do with the voice that people been hearin? I heard it till I found this here rock. (She points at her necklace) This shut it up real quick. Rest of the towns folk be hearin voices and they call me mad ha!”
”First heard it after the meteorites hit. I think they woke it up. It wanted me to go to the temple but I stopped to inspect the impacts on the way there. Once I found this seemed to help turn off the voice off. Crelik was out there too but the rock he found doesn’t have as much have the same luster as mime.”
Brix buries the bodies under hay. Once done he gathers the others and they head to the old woman's hovel.

Brix strides up to the door of the cottage and knocks a couple times. "Hello? Maggie?" He calls out. He waits patiently for an answer.

Belnum follows Veyran's lead and circles around the other side of the cottage, checking for any other doors or windows as well.

Maggie looks you all over and says.

Veyran lets Brix take the lead with the conversation as he seems more comfortable with social interaction. He will however add to the conversation.
"It would also help if you could tell us if your familiar with this symbol."
He waves his hand around and casts minor illusion, manifesting an image of the symbol they saw in Crelik’s home and on the bodies of their assailants.
Maggie listens and looks at the symbol closely.
“Never seen anything like that before. Does this have something to do with the voice that people been hearin? I heard it till I found this here rock. (She points at her necklace) This shut it up real quick. Rest of the towns folk be hearin voices and they call me mad ha!”
"Anything else bothering these people that's not bothering you? Or maybe you can tell us where you first heard the voice before you found that rock?"
coaxed Brix.

She pauses thinking back.
Belnum looks at the lady with a puzzled look on his face, "What did you mean when you said "they woke it up"? Can you tell us what it is?"
Maggie answers.
"Dono what it is at all. I'm just guessing based off the timing. Nothing like this has ever happened then right after the strike it begins."
Belnum then shifts his attention to Maggie's necklace that she previously pointed out.
"Do you mind if we take a look at the meteorite fragment on your necklace?"
Brix watches Maggies reactions to their questions closely as well as her body language, trying to discern if another entity might be controlling her.

Roll a persuasion check Belnum.
Brix you don’t get a lot beyond she is a loner and not much of a people person.
