NE Goblin attack: 16 Damage: 4 Attack: 11 Damage: 7
E Goblin attack: 20 Damage: 4
S Goblin attack: 21 Damage: 8
The NE goblin, wielding dual hand crossbows laughs in a high pitch chitter. Then points to the group and shouts "Kill" and the four unleash a volley of arrows. You each feel a stinging pain as an arrow or bolt impacts your bodies. With the exception of Drogore, some of you can only see 2-3 goblins due to your position.
I rush and take cover against the wall to my right. "Yes, let's let the short fire wizard with no shield lead the group. That could never go poorly." I clench my fist a pull it towards me, casting Catapult with Twinning Spell to attack the northern goblins with the crates behind them.
The small crates go flying through the air. The NW goblin ducks under the crate but the NE goblin gets slammed in the back. Jagged bits of wood protrude through the goblin's chest as it is propelled forward 10 ft before landing flat on its face in a bloody heap.
The flames illuminate the entirety of the once pitch black cavern. Even though the goblins drop to the floor the flames are too intense and scorch the flesh of both. Only charred corpses remain smoldering on the ground and the cavern returns to a dark silence.
End of Combat
The smell of death and burnt flesh fills the stale cave air. You each light a torch or use cantrips to provide light. With both caverns illuminated you see numerous crates, barrels, piles of clothing and armor and even a couple small chests.
Anyone can make an investigation check to see what you find.
Kazmae and Delphinium each find 12 silver and 20 copper. They also find 3 suits of studded leather armor, 2 suits of chain mail, 3 shields, 6 daggers, 8 shortbows, and 4 shortswords in good enough condition to be sold to a merchant. They sniff each of the barrels and find that 2 smell like wine, 2 smell like ale, 3 are dry smelling and the other 5 smell of rotting vegetation or meat.
Drogore finds 1 gold piece, 12 silver and 20 copper pieces. As well as the same armor and weapons and helps Kazmae and delphinium place them in a pile.
Loodyhoo finds two small chests hidden within one of the crates. One of the chests contains 30 gold pieces and two small rubies. The second chest contains an ornate looking sword hilt of swirling steel with gold inlay and pommel depicting a rising sun.

After you finish gathering anything of value you can find you slowly make your way out of the cave. The fresh air is a welcomed reprieve from the stale damp air of the inner cave. Delphinium leads the way following the markers on the trees as you make your way out of the mountain forest. Sweat beads appear on your brow once you reach the familiar trail that eventually joins in to the main road. The walk back is long and slow but your spirits are high, having completed your task. You see Twin Creeks in the distance and quicken your pace slightly as a burst of adrenaline and hope courses through your body. The sun is hanging low in the west and the afternoon heat makes the sweat pour but still you press on victorious.
Entering through the east gate, you head straight to the town hall and find Volodar in his office, a proud smile on his face as you lay out the goblin heads. His face flashes a bit of fear as the half-ogre head plops onto the floor. After recounting your discovery of the scout camp and ensuing battle in the cave Volodar sits back in his chair and says, "Well done. It is quite unfortunate that we lost so many... I'm not sure what to tell their families yet." he pauses standing up from his seat. "But that weight rest on my shoulders." he says opening the cabinet and pulling out the remaining reward money. "You have earned every coin. I don't know what your plans are from this point but if you consider settling down I'll always have an opening for you. I know you said you don't really know each other well but from what you told me of your battle, you seem to fight well together." he adds handing each of you a small pouch containing 37 gold and 5 silver.
With your coin purses much fuller than when you started the day you head towards the tink tink tink sound of hammering and quickly find the town blacksmith who offers the group 200 gold for the entire lot of weapons and armor you lugged from the cave. The price seems very enticing given the heavy weight and prospect of having to carry it further to find another merchant.
"While I appreciate your assistance with the goblins, I must remain firm on the price of 200. If these weapons or armor were in better condition I would be willing to pay more." the blacksmith says.

"I'd be willing to supply you with a bit more fire and perhaps cut out some work for you, for a higher price," I say, magical fire wrapping around my fingers.
Seeing the magical fire wrap around Drogore’s finger the blacksmith nods. “Neat trick. Show me what you can do and if it truly makes a difference I can go up to 250 gold.” He says grabbing a hammer and motioning you back into the forge area.
Your stomachs growl as the evening sun sets lower in the sky. The small dried meats and fruit you snacked on your walk back have lasted as long as they could. The empty pit left from your breakfast becomes more apparent as the adrenaline fades.

I take cover and sneak over to the goblin behind the crate so I have a good view and cast my poison into his ugly face.

The pale green gas from Kazmae's hand washes over the goblin's face. It chokes and collapses to the ground convulsing for a moment before going still.
