Karen-Jan runs after Dave-A, stopping about the halfway mark, trying to cover the front and back, though with the angle and how far back she needs to be, she'll be almost out of her comfortable range with a dagger (right on the cusp of 20').
Dave-A gets to the back of the carvan just as a window pops open and a lean and wiry human man, with brown hair, brown eyes, and with nothing particularly distinguishing about them, leaps out onto the ground just in front of her.
Before they can say anything, Dave-A is upon them.
(Dave-A, roll your grapple, d6 bardic inspiration still available; Karen-Jan - is a dagger flying? If so, roll away)
Back in the Lintoll public areas, Bigge listens to Ethel's questions and nods along.
"It looks like the old captain got all the repairs done that needed doing while we were all imprisoned," Bigge says. "The Xanthe's Wish is in right good shape. Though she can still use a crow's nest to keel clean before we set sail again."
He strokes his chin for a moment, then laughs.
"Squid are beyond me, but I'd say we stay clear of where we saw them last and do a better job at keeping a watch up in the crow's nest. Best chance we have is to outrun them."
Bigge looks around at the fairgoers passing by then continues. "Do you think you'll be wanting to leave town soon?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Not so fast!" Dave-a growls as she sees the man leap out onto the ground just in front of her. She attempts to wrap her arms completely around him, and stops just short of trying to headbutt him (only cause DM won't let her :) )

Karen-Jan flicks the dagger towards the figure trying to run. It's a solid hit, against the side of the caravan. But, the action does cause your prey to stumble back into Dave-A's arms, where they find themselves engulfed in burly arms.
Martin-Marrin's readied action fizzles out as no one comes out the front door.
The runner wriggles frantically, struggling to slip out of Dave-A's grasp (Acrobatics: 7 )
(Avaria - Athletics to keep the grapple - whether she succeeds or not will affect the rest of mysterious stranger's turn)
Ethel is thoughtful for a moment. Then she replies, "Soon, yes. Though soon can be a relative term. We still need to settle on a destination, and most of us have a bit of business left here in town before we will be ready to depart. Yet I do think we will want to be making waves in the order of a few days more, and not any longer than that."

As a general cacophony of shouts erupts calling for help, the brigade, and for Gary, your target is well held around the waist and legs, but while they are grappled, they are not incapacitated. Instead of trying to break free, they pull a sharp short sword from their belt, slashing out once at Dave-A and once at Karen-Jan, showing some restraint an not attacking the child.

Acrobatics - 12
Dave-A barely has time to finish saying 'Not so fast,' when their target manages to slip right out from the attempted bear hug.
Over to Karen-Jan.
Jan flicks a practiced hand forward, letting her muscle memory take over and leaving her conscious mind in a pleasantly fuzzy muddle.

While Dave-A can feel a lot of lean wiry muscle on their opponent, the shifter leverages her strength and keeps the acrobat grappled up tightly.
"Help," they shout. "Thieves. Thieves by the caravans."

Party's up.
Martin runs around the wagon and laughs,
"Really? Calling for the Brigade? Sure!"
Martin starts yelling along,
"Get the Brigade!"
((Any loose rope around?))
Then says more quietly to Mamma Jan,
"You got this mom!"
((D6 bardic to Jan
If there is no rope in evidence Martin will wrap up the guys legs to help Dave-a))
"Got what?", Drunk Jan mumbles.

Martin gestures at the guy,
"This?"
"Wait, do you want me to get the Brigade, or help Avadava?" Jan slurs.
"Here, this should help... بھاڑ میں جاؤ!"
Jan will hex the wriggling fellow, giving him disadvantage on Dexterity checks.
She'll reclaim her dagger from where she tossed it into the side of the carriage.

Martin looks up at momma Jan from where he is helping Dave-a hold the assassin down,
"Either would be great."
Then he looks away to keep holding on and continues,
"What'd you say? You're really slurring now. Should help... Ma Gary Dinner?"
"Who's Gary?", Jan slurs in befuddlement. "Go get the Brigade?"

Martin groans,
"I don't know, you said - oof - you said Gary!"
Face half pushed into a struggling leg,
"Just yell for them maybe?"
"Oh, very well.... GAAAARRRRYYYYY! GAAAAARRRRRY!"
