((@Spider – there’s an animated rotten tree 30’ to the west and one to the east. The two zombie groups are half way between – 15’ to the west and 15’ to the east. The steps are about 10’ to the door))
Webbing sprays outwards from the end of Ethel’s walking stick. It falls across the group of zombies though can’t quite stretch to the animated tree. Despite the green spewing gas marking these as a different kind of zombie, they’re about as equally slow and clumsy as ones that you’ve encountered in the past. Ethel counts six of the eight firmly restrained. One just barely escaped the same fate, while the last did a dizzying pirouette and nimbly dodged the web completely – almost certainly by accident.
Avaria charges up the steps and smashes her sword against the door, discovering as she does that this door is made of iron and looks to be in good shape. Both blows find purchase and do damage the door and hinges, but from what she can tell, it will probably take at least two more similar blows, maybe three to break it open enough to get inside.
A second later, Avaria finds Soren standing next to her at the top of the stairs. Instead of smashing at the door with a weapon, he puts his hand on the frame, says something in elvish that Avaria can’t quite make out. Suddenly a loud knock sounds out from the door and Avaria hears a metal bar fall to the ground.
“Hopefully that was all that was holding it shut,” Soren says. He pushes on the door, but the handle itself doesn't move. It's still locked.
((Can Marrin get the zombies AND tree opposite the ones Ethel targeted? Guessing not since Ethel didn't get the tree. Otherwise she'll prioritize targeting all the zombies opposite with this. To be clear, the ones not already webbed.))
Marrin pulls her flute and gives a wave of her hand as she blows a confusing and alluring (whatever that sounds like) set of notes causing a hypnotic pattern to appear for the zombies, and maybe the tree.
((DC 16 wisdom save or become incapacitated with a move speed of 0 on fail.))
She'll then move up to the door, as far as she can without being in the way.
((Since K goes just before her, can they have gone up to the door and use their held action and tremorsense to provide advantage on Jan's picking attempt?))

Jan with the assistance of K, who manages to feel the turning of the lock mechanism into the right spot and pass that along to Jan, hears a lock click open and the door handle move freely in her hand. The door opens, creaking loudly as it does, revealing a darkened entry chamber.
Marrin notes that the seven zombies she plays for all appear to stop and look up into the air, all of them pawing at the colours that briefly appeared. They stop moving and appear to be waiting for direction of some sort.
The animated tree however does not appear to be affected by the music.
Currently then - 6 of 8 zombies to the west are tangled in webbing and 7 of 7 zombies to the east are looking up into the sky, idly waving their arms around as green noxious looking gas spews out of them. The animated tree to the west was not caught by the webbing and it doesn't look like the tree to the east was charmed.
With the door open, and everyone still having movement left, will let you decide if everyone is going inside, or some are staying outside. Once decided, we'll get to the baddies side of the turn.
Jan hisses, "Door's open, let's move!", before slipping in, sending the invisible K a bit ahead of her to feel for any movement inside the tower.
((She'll move well into the tower, to clear the entry for the others, moving to just short of a window if she can, and looking around for its resident.))
With the door open and most of the foes below restrained or distracted, Ethel will walk into the tower. She will do so as casually and in as dignified a manner as time allows.
For DM:
Ethel will be prepared - for as long as this encounter lasts and/or as long as she has remaining 3rd level spell slots - to cast counterspell in response to any person other than the party or Soren casting a spell.

Avaria waits for everyone to get in and then closes the door behind her. She stands in front of the door as she looks around to see what horrors great them in the tower.
The group enters the tower, Ula stepping in just before Avaria and looks around. Dark curtains hang in four spots, likely covering windows (though even more likely just arrow slits as you don't remember seeing windows on the first floor).
A few pieces of furniture can be made out in the dim light, a bed, chair, what appear to be three covered mirrors (the reflective surfaces covered by cloths) don't do much to make this look like anything more than a dark, spartan tower room with a few pieces of furniture in it.
Stairs lead upwards along one wall.
There's no sign of anyone here nor any sounds from inside. From outside though you can still hear the groaning of zombies and what now sounds like trees moving.
Avaria grabs the chair and whatever else by the door she can find to start barring the door. "I wonder why they are covered? They don't like their reflection?"
Ethel will move toward the mirrors, hissing under her breath, "Spread out," to everyone else. She gestures with her hands, suggesting everyone move a few paces apart from one another. She will try to get close to one of the mirrors but keeps her eyes on the staircase.

Marrin taps Ava on the shoulder,
"Ava, that door is just asking for you to smash it in!"
D8 of bardic inspiration to Ava.
((The rest of Marrin's action depends on the answers to Spider's questions.))
Avaria grins, "You don't have to ask me twice"
She charges up the steps, sword lifted above her right shoulder and as she reaches the door, she brings it down hard.

"Powder pixie...?"
