Zefla begrudgingly heads up the hill with her wrists fakely(I know this isn't a word, but you get the gist) tied. The whole atmosphere was like nothing she had ever experienced before. Where the hell were they? Was this something that occurred often in Barovia? Were they going to be running into shenanigans such as this again? Man.. they needed a better plan.
She watches and listens as Soren attempts to clue them in to what the other dark druids were saying, but when Giles starts in on attempting to copy the ritual. It takes all in her not to laugh out loud. She didn't think he had it in him, apparently this cleric was more than he appeared and she was glad to see it. But then she starts noticing the other druids not really taking it in. And unicorn slurry? What the hell is that?
Wait... dismemberment? Oh hell no. And looking around, she doesn't see how their ruse was going to get them any further, they are close to the enemy, Soren has summoned.. whatever it is that he has summoned that is now growling and ready to go.
Zefla telepathically tells Giles, Enough playtime, we need to end this. Yes, we are ready.
And with that, she drops the ropes, pulls out her knives and stabs at the one whose hand was raised to Soren, calling after Giles.
Burrs obvious tension and anger are real but not perhaps aimed as the crazed druids may expect....he notes the armed warriors but knows the druids are the important targets for they conduct the ritual.....
Giles smiles his crazy grin, turns and looks at Zefla and if able, responds in his mind quickly. “Playtime? Why, the fun is only beginning! Lady Luck be with me - this is my playroom, this is my jam!” And then the fun really begins.
Dirty Druid Giles dances and skips, making his way to the statue, but when he hears Soren call out “partake of the Unicorn Slurry”, he puts it together and skips and dances back to them, holding up the wineskin and laughing. He nods to him and smiles at the greeting Dark Druid, saying something that is in the back of his brain, something that Soren had told him, what the dark Druid in the winery was saying, and he uses it to his advantage. He dances over to Soren, giving him the wineskin, and pulling out a torch seemingly from under his filthy clothing once the Druid has his eyes back on Soren. He starts to dance and skip on over to the campfire. As he does so, he starts to chant.
He sees Zefla readying herself, putting her hand on her knife, and continues his chant, smiling a crazy smile all the while. “Disciples of the land, the Ancient Land! Disciples of the land, the Ancient Land!” Repeating it over and over again. He lights the torch and then starts to whirl it around, making his way once again toward the Statue, picking up speed, every now and again twirling and spinning holding the torch over head. When he starts to get close, within 20-30 feet or so, he stops chanting and he pulls out an oil flask from his pocket. And then it really gets weird.
You see the image of the Dirty Druid split in two, but it looks strange, because one is directly in front of the other. The one in front has the oil and torch in his hands, he flings the oil on the statue then moves forward to light it with the torch, saying “Disciples of the land, the Ancient Land!” And the second dirty druid runs to the right, circling back around, staying low to the ground, glancing back over his shoulder. The image of Dirty Druid Father Giles stands in front of the great Bat statue, jumping up and down, hopefully watching as the oil and statue begin to light. Giles dashes towards cover, seeking to hide behind one of the tall, dark rocks. ((Invoke Duplicity))

[I've thought about this. A lot is happening at once but I think this is how it plays out.]
As Gilesreturns and hands off the wineskin of unicorn juice to Soren, Zefladrops her bonds and the ruse. Despite himself, Soren is very briefly taken aback as both Giles and Zefla set events in motion. He recovers quickly, speaking in both Common to his friends and Speech of the Woods to the ravens, beseeching both:
"Slay the dark druids first, starting with this one next to us, then the four near the statue. I do not know if we can reason with the axe-wielders. Somehow I doubt it. But as I have heard city-folk say... you never know. And do not be worried of my spirit bear, black-winged allies. He is a friend."
Bramble the skeletal spirit Bear reappears in the air at a point between Soren and the ravens, strengthening both, along with Burr, Zefla, Nettle and Thorn.
Nettle flies in the face of the dark druid in front of Soren and returns to the half-elf's shoulder, her help granting advantage. Soren himself draws his longbow, targeting the same dark druid in front of him, his owl familiar'shelp negating the difficulty of such a close shot.
Soren then circles the dark druid clockwise, all the way around until he is SW of his foe and S of Zefla, remaining in melee, making room for Burr.

As she waits for Giles to get into melee if he is going to, Zefla stays where she is, takes out her shortbow and concentrates on her shot. Focusing completely on it, she uses her bonus action to give her steady aim. Slowing down her breathing, she takes aim at the druid that is closest to the fake Giles and looses the arrow.
The real Giles moves about 20 feet to the east, hunkering down and positioning himself behind the large statue that is now alight. He maintains focus on the “fake” Father Giles, that still looks like a dark Druid, jumping up and down in front of the burning statue. Now the fake Giles stops and turns, looking at the dark Druid 10-15 feet to the north of him. The fake Father Giles holds his hand out and casts toll the dead on the dark Druid, and then as a bonus action, it waves its hands again and casts spiritual weapon and an ethereal great axe appears beside the dark druid, striking at him. ((Giles can cast spells through his Duplicity’s actions.)).

Soren's heart sinks as the berserkers charge. He hopes the ravens arrive soon. So much for treating with the axe-wielders... well, if we must die here to ensure the statue is destroyed and the ritual is thwarted, so be it.
He moves southwest and south, skirting counter-clockwise around the edge of the circular perimeter. Nettle flies from his shoulder to flap her wings in the face of the dark druid that Zefla and Giles' floating axe had injured, taking the help action, before flying back as far as she can to Soren's shoulder.
Soren lines up a longbow shot at the distracted enemy and looses the shaft. Bramble the incorporeal and skeletal spirit Bear moves to a position roughly 40' N and 25' W of the burning statue, hoping to grant strength to most of the allies if it matters.
Meanwhile, Thorn charges from his position 30', just making it into range of the northwestern-most dark druid around the statue (not the injured one). Slavering ferally, the spirit wolf lets out a howl and buries his jaws deep into the corrupted one's belly, remaining in melee with the enemy.

Judging the distance and knowing he can't reach any of the druids he charges at the southernmost axeman of the northern group swinging his maul at the mans head.
The wounded druid falls to Soren'sarrow, while Thornworries another nearby druid with its fangs.
That druid, ignoring a possible AOO from Thorn, moves 15' closer to the burning statue. It raises its staff and there is a thunderous retort as a wave of force erupts, enveloping the statue and the Fake Dirty Druid Not Father Giles. The flames whirl in the blast but are not extinguished, though the spell does another 4damage to the statue. The druid glares at the image of Giles, unmoved by the blast, and snarls, "False one.... You cannot hide from the eyes of the ancient! The land will consume you, body and spirit!"
[If Thorn lands an AOO, its conceivable that enough damage could actually kill that druid... but if so, the above still happens before the druid collapses....]
Meanwhile, the last two druids continue to dance and chant before the flaming statue, their shadows cavorting maniacally alongside them.

Further north, Burrlands a heavy blow against one of the mountain men. He grunts in pain, then it evolves into a laugh. "Ha! A strong arm! You or I, the gods of the stone will welcome a worthy new ghost tonight!"

Judging the distance and knowing he can't reach any of the druids he charges at the southernmost axeman of the northern group swinging his maul at the mans head.
Attack: 18 Damage: 17
The wounded druid falls to Soren's arrow, while Thorn worries another nearby druid with its fangs.
That druid, ignoring a possible AOO from Thorn, moves 15' closer to the burning statue. It raises its staff and there is a thunderous retort as a wave of force erupts, enveloping the statue and the Fake Dirty Druid Not Father Giles. The flames whirl in the blast but are not extinguished, though the spell does another 4 damage to the statue.

Further north, Burr lands a heavy blow against one of the mountain men. He grunts in pain, then it evolves into a laugh. "Ha! A strong arm! You or I, the gods of the stone will welcome a worthy new ghost tonight!"
Behind Soren and Zefla, the sound of wings grows louder, and the sky grows dark with a cloud of ravens approaching. It looks like they are still a few more seconds away from the battle.
[While its not important, I'm compelled to point out 'north' isn't right. The map is not oriented correctly north to south. Actual north would be in the direction of the lower left corner of the map. But for purposes of keeping things easy for this combat, lets continue to treat 'north' as a synonym for 'top part of the map.']

[That AOO does indeed kill the druid. The only druids left are the two 'southeast' most druids on the map.]

The chant sends a shiver down Zefla's spine, but she is spirited a bit seeing that half of the dark druids were now gone. Hoping Burr can keep the berserkers at bay, she takes another deep breath and sends an arrow to the closest druid.
