Leela peers over the crowd in the direction of where Riw and Selinae went. She gasps and grasps for her amulet. "By the goddess--! They are in trouble!"
She heads off down the alleyway in their direction.
As she reaches the little pool of emptiness around the group, she tries to gauge the situation more insightfully than she could do at a distance.
[Does it look like the aarakocra are taking this seriously? Or are they believing Riw's explanation? insight : 15 ]
"A liar as well as a dissendent, " the aarakocra says moving his hands in the air as she casts a spell hold person on Riw. WIZ save DC 15.
"Are you traveling with this dragonborn," the tawny falcon asks Selinae with a set expression and piercing eyes.
Leela can see the ibis casting on Riw and the tawny falcon moving to square off at Selinae!
"On dear," Adruus grumbles. "Met us at Barakah-Set family villa. The Verdant Towers in the Royal Ward," the monk says before removing a vial from his inner pocket. "Leela I am sorry. I can only take one," Zydus says remorseful as he bends over Maitland crushing the vial in his hand, he and Maitland then disappear in a small gray smoke that quickly dissipates!
Leela and Jenna can now offer aid or figure out a plan to get their companions out of hot water!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
As Leela gasps and dashes off, Jenna turns to Adruus "I'll stay with you and Mait.....okay fine....good plan" and she wafts the grey wisp of smoke away before heading towards the others.
She stops beside Leela, asking her softly "What's going on?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"All that waiting and he could have spirited them there immediately?" mutters Leela.
She turns her head to Jenna and replies quietly, "It has something to do with that magic spear that creature we met dropped. They think Riw has done something wrong. Back me up." She gently brushes past Jenna as she walks forward, giving her a Vigilant Blessing [You give one creature you touch advantage on the next initiative roll the creature makes].
Leela takes a deep breath, touches her amulet and whispers a word of prayer for Guidance. She stands straight and tall, and strides into the middle of the discussion, her religious amulet in full view on her chest, the Goddess' symbol plain for all to see. She reaches out a placating hand to the aarakocra casting on Riw. She calmly but authoritatively speaks to her in a manner she had heard the High Priestess adopt at her temple, kindly but expecting unquestioning, immediate obedience. "What has my warrior done now? I beg your forgiveness, kind folk, for anything he may have unwittingly done to offend. We are but newly arrived in this fair city, and I admit, maybe we did not explore your local customs as thoroughly as we might have before travelling. I and my temple take full responsibility for any wrongdoing he may have done. He was sent to find a covered conveyance for me. How did this possibly go awry?"
[OOC not sure if you would prefer a persuasion check or a deception check - they are both the same modifier. 5 plus the guidance roll 4. Let me know if it is at disadvantage.]
[OOC not sure if you would prefer a persuasion check or a deception check - they are both the same modifier. 7 plus the guidance roll 3. Let me know if it is at disadvantage.]
[OOC - mis-typed the modifier. It should have been 1, so the roll was 6, plus 3 = 9.]
Jenna adopts the air of a favoured servant, sneering at Riw before turning back to Leela.
”I knew I should have gone. Your warrior is just that, and beyond protecting you they are useless.” She gives a little bow to the aarakocra “Sir, The two of them are dim witted.”
((Can she help Leela to give her advantage? Otherwise she can roll))
Riw is paralyzed held a loft by the gaurdians spell.
"Where did you get this weapon," the gaurdian holding Riw aloft demands.
As Leela approaches and speaks she immediately begins casting a spell (I need a slight of hand check; all checks to persuade or deceive are at disadvantage the gaurdians are considered hostile). If Leela fails her disadvantaged slight of hand DC 13 (that's their passive perception) she too is subjected to a spell as she speaks approaching as hold person WIZ save DC 15 surrounds her!
Jenna steps forward and two gaurdians pull off hoods, they look like a gnoll and a towering firblog, moving towards their companions!
"Hold," the gnoll says firmly letting out a menacing cackle of laughter.
OOC Gaurdians are considered hostile so at best you could give someone a flat roll.
"We found it in the desert," insists Leela. "A creature dropped it. It's the truth, as I'm sure you can tell. We are not here to sow dissent or hurt anybody."
Selinae has no idea what is going on but has assumed it is all her fault....things often tend to be....she is standing stock still and hoping everyone just calms the hell down before she has a full blown panic attack.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Leela feels that this interaction is heading south, but still attempts to talk her way out of it. "Please let my warrior down. He has done nothing to hurt you."
OOC I'll say the time for deception has passed. Still waiting on the WIZ save from Leela who approached casting guidance and the tawny falcon cast hold person in her DC 15.
"He will be released when you tell us how you came upon this weapon. It's not something you would find, " the white ibis explains. "The gaurdians who carry then gaurd the dead that those would raise for dark purposes," they explains to Leela. "Where did you come upon it," she asks Riw holding the spell.

Leela sighs and her shoulders droop. "We have no knowledge of or intent to raising dead. On our way here, we were attacked by a creature without provocation. We tried to reason with the creature and then we defended ourselves. The creature dropped the weapon you see here, and I gave it to the warrior."
"Okay fine, a beast attacked us on our airship, it searched for something we didn't understand. We destroyed it, but it was righteous self-defence, it would have wrecked the whole ship jeopardizing the lives of all travellers and crew members, we couldn't let that happen. Sorry if the beast meant something for you, but we had no choice!"
