(Natasha takes out the Blowgun with the Tranquilizer Dart and shoots it at Donnar to try to knock him out.)

His hard, angry face suddenly softens, he slurs something that sounds like “chicken” and he falls flat on his face, fast asleep.

Stone, you’re up.

Stone approaches the rats covering Jacob and using his long sword he carefully swipes at the rats, taking care to avoid Jacob.

Damage = 5

Your long sword connects and you kill a few rats. The swarm’s constant movement seems to makes it harder to inflict massive damage with your sword.

Penelope, your turn.

Penelope will cast Magic Missile, sending all three bolts at the rats.

Magic Missiles Damage: 2 3 3

The magic darts send at least half of the remaining rats flying without damaging Jacob. While still a threat, the swarm’s attack power is greatly diminished. 

Donnar sleeps through his turn.😴

The rats left on Jacob try to bite him again.

Attack: 8 Damage: 3

This time, the rats fail to find any gaps in your armor.

Jacob, what’s your move?

(OOC: Sorry, folks in town, distracted and hungover)

"Shitty little vermin!" he grunts while hoping to swipe some off with Bread and use the unlit torch as a cudgel...

Bread:  9 Damage: 9 + fire: 4 

Torch: Attack: 11 Damage: 4

(OOC: treated the torch the same as an unarmed strike, as a bonus action)

The fire from your Crimson Rite ignites and kills the rest of the rats. The swarm has been stopped, but in less than a minute (42 seconds to be exact), Donnar will recover from the tranquilizer dart.

What do you all want to do?

 (Natasha searches Donnar's body to see if there's anything useful he was hiding.)

Search: (Wisdom) 9

(Natasha then grabs some rope out of her bag.)

"I don't know how long that dart is going to keep him out, but I don't think he should be loose when he wakes up. Anyone care to do the honors?"

"He's a magic user we should gag him too. Some spell only need you to words to activate them. I can help you tie him up if you want." Penelope will rip use her dagger to rip off a bit of his clothes and gag him with it. 

"Let's use these manacles on his arms instead. No rat's are going to gnaw through them..." I say, clamping them on to Donnar's wrists behind his back.

Natasha: You quickly searches the unconscious Donnar, but find nothing of interest on his person. 

Penelope & Jacob: When Natasha is finished searching him, you use the manacles to bind him and the cloth to gag him.

Does anyone want to do anything else in the 15 seconds before he wakes up?

(Natasha goes to the door and looks out to see if anyone unwelcome is coming.)

Perception: 5

Edit: Dagnabit...

Stone sits the disgusting dog eater in an upright position to allow for easier interrogation.

Penelope will keep an eye out for more rats. She remembers there were some outside, and keeps her eyes trained on the door.

Jacob: Your torch is lit. 🔥

Natasha: You check outside but see nothing. Like, really nothing. You go temporarily blind for 4.5 seconds. You are fine after that.

Stone: You sit Donnar upright and fumble with his limp body while trying to get him to stay up. Once you’re satisfied with his posture, you look down at your now soiled hands. You can’t resist the temptation to smell them. You immediately regret your actions.

Penelope: You stand ready for those damn dirty rats to come swarming through the door, but it doesn’t happen. You’re actually a little relieved. 

Donnar mutters to himself as he slowly awakens. He opens his eyes and looks at you all as he remembers what just happened. He tries to curse you as thieves, but his gag prevents him from making any noises other than “Chiigghh” or “Ffeeeaabbbss”.

He furiously tries to break Jacob’s manacles.

Strength Check: 15

Although his anger has energized him, it’s not enough for him to break his chains.

What do you want to do? 

Stone looks Donnar in the eyes. Carefully he points his longsword at Donnar's throat.

"I am going to release your gag and my friends and I are going to ask you some questions. If you do anything that I think may be magic or offensive then I swear, by the holy stripes and stars that I carry with me always, I will cut your throat out and kill you. Do you understand me?"

Stone waits for some kind of indication from Donnar that he has been understood.
