"I've noticed burn marks around the ruins!" Dabbert shouts to his team, taking his eyes off the enemy for a moment. "These things have to be what left them! They've been here for awhile! Look sharp, there may be moAAH!"
His body is scorched as the wheel comes around on its arc and splashes over him. He steps away for a moment, patting out any flames that may have been left behind. A few choice curse words are muttered, and then Dabbert is back on the assault. He originally tried to take the big one prisoner, but the opening volley of the interaction indicates to him there's no parlay to be had here.
He moves with lightning efficiency toward the wheel-wielding thing and sets his ire loose. His shield slams into it as he tries to drive it to the ground before using his halberd to flip the weapon away from it and tear it to ribbons before positioning himself where he can keep both foes in range...
Bonus Action: Shield Master Shove-26
First Attack w/ Battle Master Disarm Maneuver and Great Weapon Master Applied (w/ assumed Advantage): 29 Damage: 32 + 2 Damage (For Disarming Maneuver) (Target has to pass a DC 23 Strength Check or be Disarmed)
Second Attack w/ Great Weapon Master Applied (w/ assumed Advantage): 23 Damage: 32
Third Attack w/ Great Weapon Master Applied (w/ assumed Advantage): 21 Damage: 32
Dabbert will position himself as close as he can between the two targets to be able to trigger Opportunity Attack or Polearm Master Opportunity Attack so that he can use his Sentinel ability to stop their movement.
He'll hold his Reaction to use either of these opportunity attacks, Riposte (if he's missed with a melee attack), or his Skirmisher movement.

So... assuming neither Dab's massive onslaught nor whatever Slip does finishes off the two fire beasts, Akkron is going to go ahead and cast Misty Step to get around to the other side of the wall, appearing behind the ghost that he summoned and stand face-to-face with the scythe-wielding fire creature.
"I wouldn't normally be one to offer life advice,"Akkron says menacingly. "But I think it is safe to say that attracting the wrath of both a lich and a Cleric is unwise."
Akkron then proceeds to cast Chill Touch against the flame creature.
Attack: 26 Damage: 15 Necrotic, target cannot regain hit points until the start of my next turn.
The lich then whispers "Finish it"to the ghost.
The ghost will then launch three attacks against the fire creature in front of her, and move on to the second one Dab just hit for around 100 damage if it isn't dead as well.
Attack: 22 Damage: 23 Necrotic
Attack: 33 Damage: 23 Necrotic
Attack: 25 Damage: 22 Necrotic
Anything hit by an attack must make a DC 24 Wis save or be Frightened until the end of the ghost's next turn.

Both fire creatures are battered until their fires are extinguished, leaving charred armor and weapons in unceremonious piles. As the remains smolder the wall darkens, becomes colder, and maybe shows a bit of color.
Obviously there are now walls large enough to conceal beholders and as/if you continue further those structures grow larger and more complex, with multiple floors, basements, stairways, and towers in various states of abandonment. No immediate signs of any more life/monster spawn point without a search.
(I'll just ask if there is anything your characters would be looking for and how they would do it + any checks&spells you would deem appropriate or helpful).
("there are now walls large enough to conceal beholders" sounded quite specific...)
Akkron relaxes a bit as the last creature falls. He pats the semi-substantial ghost girl on the shoulder.
"You did well, little one," he says to the ghost tenderly. Then he addresses the living members of the group. "Marin can remain with us for up to an hour before I'll need to cast the spell again to bring her back, assuming that my concentration isn't broken and nothing manages to cause enough damage to drive her from this plane of existence. We may want to use that time to clear out one of the larger buildings for use as a fallback location... both for ourselves and for any survivors we find as we travel deeper into the wreckage."

Your ghost trails around you, sometimes wandering up walls, skipping halfway through the ground, and occasionally crawling on all fours. It is both eerie and endearing.
“Impressive friend. I agree with the plan. Is anyone injured? Lead on, dead ones… “. Lorlin says. She casts death ward on herself, and 5th level aid on herself, slip, and Dabbert. (20hp)
If there are no objections, Akkron will pick out a large, sturdy-looking building to begin clearing. A sturdy manor house or a jail would probably be the best options in his opinion, but if he doesn't see either nearby then an inn or a large temple could make an adequate shelter with good barricades on the doors and windows.

No objections here. Dabbert would gladly help clear for a fallback point.
When the last of the creatures fell, Dabbert paused, took a breath, and looked around.
"This uh...is going to be one of those sorts of days huh?" He says, then looks at his friends. "Anyone know what those were? Seems like they've been prowling here for awhile. I wonder if our friend the Baron would have answers. And thanks for the magic, Lorlin. I was feeling a bit banged up there."
As they near the building that Akkron points out, Dabber nods his approval and stows his halberd before drawing his shortsword and shield and stepping through the threshold. He tries to move as silently as possible while scanning room to room as he goes.
How dark is it in here? Would Dabbert be able to see without Darkvision?

Good question...
Akkron will attempt, based on the remains and his limited observations of the creatures while they were still living, to figure out what exactly they were.

Akkron: Given that the smoldering piles of armor were once animated fire, your first assumption would be elementals. But most elementals you’ve found in the past at least had something of a personality and since these seemed to be functioning on auto pilot you would conclude these were Fire Elemental Myrmidon, summoned here and armed with elements of this world.
The big guy is more foreign but as Lorlin’s Toll of The Dead does it’s necrotic work most of its flesh sloughs off, revealing a beholder’s skull underneath the various tentacles and limbs.
"I have an idea of what they were," the lich says in response to Dabbert's question. "These two were Fire Elementals... the exact type probably doesn't mean much to you or change our tactics for dealing with them..."
He does a double-take at the big guy's corpse when he realizes what is underneath its flesh. The lich visibly shudders, his ancient bones clattering against each other before he manages to regain his composure.
"Oh... that's not good," he says, his voice now filling with worry as he takes a second look to make absolutely certain he saw what he thought he saw. "Everyone... keep a lookout for Beholders... if any of you need me to describe the beast, I am more than able to do so, but I think the most important thing to know is that they're large, floating abominations with a lot of tentacles. If we encounter one, I suggest we all stick together closely in a box-formation. It won't be especially pleasant, as Lorlin and I would likely both be temporarily robbed of power during the confrontation... but we'll force the beast to choose between stopping us from using magic and using its own to harm us."

"So uh...wait." Dabbert says as he pushes open a door and peers into a room, looking from side to side, up and down, at the ceiling, at anywhere to hide... "Was the big thing back there a Beholder? What stopped it from...doing whatever they do that makes them dangerous? We were just lucky and got the drop on it?"
"It may have been, even though it didn't look like any beholder I've ever seen before,"the lich says. "But its skull was unquestionably that of a Beholder. The fact that we caught it by surprise was extremely lucky... mainly because a beholder can create a space where magic simply doesn't work. And I don't just mean spells; magic weapons and armor become completely mundane as well until they're removed from the effects of the Beholder's eye. The only saving grace is that the creature's own magic doesn't work in the field either... which means that while fighting it you're stuck between a rock and a hard place where you either have to fight with nothing but fists and sticks or step out of the field and make yourself vulnerable to all the things it can do with its other eyes."
