"Maybe they were well-nourished." Jacks says. His golden hair shining in the light. A look of annoyance was etched on his handsome features, his brow furrowed in a frown. His full lips were set in a thin line, blue eyes flicked around the forest, taking in his surroundings with a sense of restlessness, like he cannot believe he has to do this kind of work, with wombat excrements everywhere. He lowers his voice, trying to be patient, "Let's do more following the footsteps and less looking at poops."
The trail leads into a forested area that becomes gradually more hilly as you move further from the village. Hanging in groups from the trees, you see dolls.
They stare at you with dead eyes as you travel deeper into the wood, the surrounding noise becoming quieter and quieter the further you walk. After travelling for about an hour, the path opens up leading you to an outcropping of stones. In them there is a cave, seeming to lead downward. Two torches standing burning on poles outside of the cave.
Andre looks at the cave... and then casts Armor of Agathys (from Magic Initiate: Warlock) in preparation for marching towards sure doom... both fully replenishing his Arcane Ward and getting 5 temp HP that will do 5 cold damage to anything that hits him.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

Jacks stops abruptly in front of the cave, taking a deep breath. "This is it," he mutters, his hand on the hilt of his sword. He looks to others impatiently. "Come on, we don't have all day. I want to get my gold and get out of here." He says, striding into the cave, looking around for any more clues.
(Howdy all. I have achieved map, but I need a marching order going into the cave; also, if you want to do something before going into the cave, now is the time to do it)
So... even with Arcane Ward and Armor of Agathys, Andre has lost almost half his hit points from the wombats and isn't really in the mood to die if he can help it... so he'll let someone else go ahead of him.

(I'm assuming Jacks went first, because he already strode into the cave which would put Fuego in the second spot; I'll post a map here and describe what you see. If you want to be somewhere else, please let me know)
Map!
As you come down the stairs you see a cavern about 70’ in length and 45’ wide. There is a small alcove to the left and the cavern continues further back. It has the look of a natural cavern, the walls are uneven and the rock appears uncut. But there is a door at the back of the cave with an ominous looking carving of a face with horns surrounding it. Beside the door, there is some faintly glowing writing and, in front of the writing, there is a small stone basin on a pedestal. The room is dimly lit, with no obvious light sources (Perception rolls reliant on sight will be at disadvantage).

((Are those drainage grates in the floor?))
Marnoa listens for any sounds from below or from deeper in and he sniffs the air, wombats? The writing on the back wall, does it look similar in language / script to what was in the wombat pen?
Perception : 21

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Ho god's this is deliciously creepy, let's go check that door and pedestal" Morty says, casting guidance on whoever wants to move forward and offering help

(Agreed Trail)
Fuego tears himself away from the super-sized poop cubes and follows the others down the trail.

Marnoa gets down closer to the ground and starts to examine, look for footprints, wombat, human, or otherwise.

Marnoa readies himself and stands in the middle of the group, in front of Morty and Andre. He has already used his mage armor invocation.
