As Kerra scans the dusty attic, her eyes finally rest on a rusty lever, almost obscured by cobwebs, in the far corner, which she assumes can be used to lower the hook. Daphyra catches the sack as it lands, the sack wriggles and squirms as it touches the floor.
"Hmmm! Hmmhmmm!" The muffled sounds coming from the sack grow louder and more frantic as Daphyra asks her questions. The sack continues to wriggle. You can't see the person in the sack, but you assume he's bounded and gagged.
((Sorry, thought Kerra did cut open a window to look.))
Bound and gagged is a perfect condition to look at someone safely. Hoping Slick will be here soon too to recognize the man inside the sack, Kerra bravely opened it/cut it open to look.
((I assumed it was just small slit, like a peephole, not big enough to see the whole picture.))
As Kerra slices open the sack, she sees a pitiful creature that looks like a cross between a rat and a human. His face is twisted in terror, and his beady eyes dart back and forth between Kerra, Daphyra and Slick. The creature has a wiry, grey fur covering his body, and his ears are rounded and almost as big as his head, like those of a rat. He is bound hand and foot, and a filthy rag has been shoved in his mouth, muffling his attempts to speak.
Slick takes a step forward with a grin on his face. "Hi Raheed," He says. "Ready to pay back the money you owe Nasoor?" Raheed whimpers and tries to struggle free of his bonds to no avail.
Daphyra stands between Rasheed and Slick, blocking Slick's way with her furry bulk. "Not so fast, Slick. We said we'd help you get what was owed, but something funny's going on here."
She bends down and with distaste writ clear upon her face, Daphyra makes to pull the rag out of Rasheed's mouth. She whispers, "Shh. Keep your voice down. What's going on? I'm going to take the gag out." She tugs it out and drops it on the floor.
As Tamara, Felix is growing impatient. With his Detect magic spell still in function, he tries to assess what type of magical potion is there on the shelves and on Heth (re post 194) He asks Heth: "While we are here, I can feel you have something magical on you. What it is ? Show it to me...Now.. No funny things, I am eager to test my new spells" he continues, hinting on his spellbook. If Felix can, using Prestidigitation, he will make his spellbook shine with an iridescent blue light with a few sparks
While Daphira bravely touched that dirty rag in the rat's mouth, Kerra looked at Slick. "Remind me, how much he owes you? Just to know what sums are we talking here."
Raheed coughs and tries to wiggle free from his bounds, but the ropes hold him tightly. He glares at Slick and then at all of you, his beady eyes filled with anger and fear. With the gag removed from his mouth, he speaks with a hissing voice, revealing a row of sharp teeth. "What is this? Let me go!" He demands. "Are you working for Nasoor?" He looks at Slick who’s grinning above him, then hisses. “I don’t have the money right now. Let me go and I’ll get you the money, I promise.”
Felix detects the same thing as before. There’s distinct auras of abjuration, evocation, and a particularly strong aura of enchantment coming from Heth himself. On the apothecary shelves, Felix senses a mix of evocation and transformation coming from a select few vials.
“I’m not going to show anything to you.” Heth says to Felix, bristling. “Test your spells somewhere else! Not in my apothecary.”
Slick raises an eyebrow at Kerra. “75 gold.” He says with a smirk, “Nasoor would want the money one way or the other. Perfect now he’s all tied up. I can just drag him back to Nasoor if he can't pay up.”
"Not so fast, Slick. We did not finish our business with the rat." Kerra squatted down in front of Raheed, looked into the small eyes of the ratman and asked: "Where is the eye, Raheed? We know the jewel is here, where did you hide it? We might get Nasoor off your back if you cooperate. If not... Nasoor might not be the scariest thing out there."

Raheed's small eyes darted back and forth between Kerra and the rest of the group, his gray fur ruffling with nervous energy. After a moment of hesitation, he let out a grunt of surrender. "Fine," he said, his voice low and raspy. "Only if you promise to let me go and not give me to Nasoor."
His beady eyes shifted to Kerra as he continued to speak, his words laced with anger. "That bastard Heth took the eye when I came here for help," he spat, his voice shaking with rage. "He promised to assist me in attuning to the jewel, but instead he betrayed me. He knocked me out, stole the eye, and left me bound and helpless in here!"
"Sounds believable," nodded Kerra. "Slick, what do you say we talk to the good dog Heth? I'm sure he would have all the money Nasoor wants and some more for your help?"
Just in case, though, she overcame her disgust and searched the rat (and later the attic too) for any valuables. (Perception: 7)
Kerra searches Raheed, but could find nothing valuable on the rat. The same goes for the attic - the space was cluttered with old boxes and cobwebs, and the only things that greeted her were the pungent smell of bat droppings and the occasional flutter of wings from the shadows.
As Daphyra observes Raheed's face, she sees the genuine anger burning in his eyes and the tension in his jaw. Daphyra senses that Raheed is not lying, and his anger towards Heth is very real.
Slick shifts his weight from one foot to the other, his gaze lingering on Raheed before turning to Daphyra. He seems torn between staying to keep watch on Raheed and joining the group on their quest. The muscles in his jaw flex as he considers his options. Then he nods, “As long as I got the money for Nasoor, he won’t care about who I got it from. Plus, it doesn’t look like Raheed’s going anywhere.”
Raheed's voice echoes through the dusty attic as he calls out to the group just as they were about to leave. His eyes widen in surprise and fear as he sees the group moving towards the door. "Hey!" He cries out, his voice desperate. "I thought you were going to let me go!" His bound hands wriggle uselessly as he struggles to free himself from his restraints. The ratman’s eyes dart nervously around the room, searching for a way to escape.
"True," murmurs Daphyra. "But we need to get the Eye back from Heth first. I'll be back to untie you, I promise." She touches her amulet and bows slightly to Raheed.
"Besides, at least you're not hanging from the ceiling in a sack anymore, right?"
Daphyra climbs down the ladder. "Heth has taken the Eye!"she calls to her compatriots. "Where is it, Heth? In the back room you really didn't want me to go?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I'll check the door to the room," murmured Kerra to Daphyra. Hopefully, the lock (if the was one) was within her capabilities. She looked the door over (in case there were some traps, Perception: 6), pulled/pushed it, and then tried the lockpicks (Thieves' Tools: 19).
Tasmara sighed, already her choice to stay on guard duty. She found somewhere to sit while also keeping her eye on Heth and tried not to be bored.

Daphyra murmurs to the wriggling person in the sack, "Why are you trapped in this sack? Tell me quickly before we rejoin the others!"
