Crunchface youtake the keys and press on into the mist. The party continues to see images from their past come and go but none bother the group.
Sam of all the images you see your wife us not one of them.
After what seem like a hour (hard to judge the passage of time in the fog) the mist abruptly ends.
In a large clearing a ashen gray tree stands aline. There is an evil pressure coming from it. From your current position there is a hallow at the base of the tree and roughly halfway up its 300ft tall trunk
Muriel having felt this feeling before in your journeies though Terran ruins you are about to shake off the feeling of dread
Sam and Crunchface you two having just dealt with the dead in the mist can't shake the feeling of death breathing down your next. In sync you both turn and run
Dex save please you to and everyone roll Initiative
A vine springs up infront of Crunchface and Sam as a Hoard of Twig brights pop out of the ground
Aa you turn to flee you stumble over the trip vine but are able too keep your balance.
DM: For this encounter the optional Cleave rule is in effect. (I'd you kill a creature left over damage is applied to the next enemy in range is how um going to use it)
This is an endless Hoard encounter with the number of enemies multiplying each round. Looking around you can see to obvious things. First killing them all won't be possible. Second, they are avoiding the tree and mist so retreat or pushing through is an option.
The party is roughly un the center of the clearing roughly 90 feet from the mist and tree. Enemies are every where there is no stright line to dash with out taking AOO.

OOC: Based on this info that they are avoiding the mist, Marley was headed towards it. But if they seem to be only avoiding the tree, then would be moving in that direction.
