Some special abilities and environmental hazards, such as starvation and the long-term effects of freezing or scorching temperatures, can lead to a special condition called exhaustion. Exhaustion is measured in six levels. An effect can give a creature one or more levels of exhaustion, as specified in the effect's description.
Level
Effect
1
Disadvantage on ability checks
2
Speed halved
3
Disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws
4
Hit point maximum halved
5
Speed reduced to 0
6
Death
If an already exhausted creature suffers another effect that causes exhaustion, its current level of exhaustion increases by the amount specified in the effect's description.
A creature suffers the effect of its current level of exhaustion as well as all lower levels. For example, a creature suffering level 2 exhaustion has its speed halved and has disadvantage on ability checks.
An effect that removes exhaustion reduces its level as specified in the effect's description, with all exhaustion effects ending if a creature's exhaustion level is reduced below 1. Finishing a long rest reduces a creature's exhaustion level by 1, provided that the creature has also ingested some food and drink.
In spite of looking pretty haggard himself, Rumble will volunteer to help after turning to the elven children and saying, "Now I know you two are in a bad way right now. 'nd I'm gonna be honest. Its probably gonna get worse 'fore it gets better. But yer granny entrusted ya to us fer good reason. So, try to have a little faith, and stick close to mister Leo for a bit. Okay."He gives them a toothless smile in hopes of further assuring them, then gestures over to Leo.
"'nd quit yer belly ache'n mister birdman. Ya ain't that tired, 'nd we still got a bit to go 'fore we properly rest. 'cause there ain't no tell'n how long that golem back there is gonna stay down there." He says with somewhat forced exasperated tones.

(To be fair, you guys did just run up severeal hundred flights of stairs effectively. That is pretty tiring.)
The elves nod their heads, trying to dry their eyes. All this time they have still remained silent. After a moment, they go over and unburden Dark, taking the chest for him so they feel that they are being useful.
The door ahead looks reinforced and capable of taking a lot of hurt before letting things through. With the group's current weaponry, that approach doesn't seem viable. It does have two large ring-pulls on the front as handles. There appears to be some markings on the bandings of the door, though they don't appear to be a legible language.
"We should make sure that there is no magic effecting those door before attempt to open. I have seen old written languages before but this is not like abything I have come across before..." Mara states as she lets her hands glow as she looks back to them a few seconds later. "Killian come over here so that I can heal you."
(Assuming the group decides to stop for a few minutes.)
The group stops to catch its breath, putting their belongings down and slumping by the side on this flat opening before the door. The two elves seem to huddle in a corner, comforting one another, using the chest to conceal themselves slightly from the others. The air still seems stuffy, people occasionally sneezing from something around them.
Leojym completed his Detect Magic and checks the door. After a few seconds of peering at it, the markings around the doorway seem to have some faint abjuration magic about them, but the metal plate that is the door doesn't appear magical.
(The language doesn't appear to be in a known script by the group.)
"The writing on the door appears to be imbued protective magic, however, it does feel faint. I feel a bit weak if someone else would not mind opening this doorway." Leojym steps back a bit and says a quiet prayer while passing healing energy over his chest.
Killian thanks Mara for the healing spell, he will also offer Leo the potion of healing he has, even if Leo decides not to drink he insists that he does,"dont be silly now, I saw how much of a hit you took and even though you healed your self, you could use it"
I'm gonna Investigate the door the handles. See if there is a way of opening it besides just pulling. If there is anything that would "turn off" the protective magic

"I appreciate the gesture Killian but I can heal myself further if need be." He pulls out the healing potion he is carrying a bit. "I have one in case I cannot heal anymore but for now I will engage in less risky behavior."
Killian checks around the doorway. It doesn't appear to have any pulleys, levers, switches, buttons, or other miscellaneous method of de/activating something. It looks like pulling the door open is the main method of opening the door.
"Well seems like were just gonna have to open it and hope for the best" Killian states after inspecting the door. He also takes the healing potion back from Leo. "Do we need a couple minutes before opening it?" Killian will either open it right away or wait until the group is ready depending on everyone elses actions.

Killian strains slightly, but after a few seconds of nothing, the door starts to budge! There is a sudden blast of hot wind through the crack in the door as sand begins to scatter onto the floor lightly. Opening the door further the group finds themselves looking out into a vast desert, the ground ahead of them lightly shaded by a stone canopy above the doorway.
Mara sighs as she ses the dessert and shakes her head. She had already been in a desert before comeing here and it seemed like she would be stuck in another one. "We are going to nerd to be prepared for this before we set out into the sands. We need to set up rations for both food and water."
There is a loud cry of a bird of prey. As Mara looks through the doorway, she sees coming over the dune, an enormous sand-coloured bird flying close to the ground, then crests higher into the air.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hearing the bird from inside the room, Dark quickly moves forward to get a better look. “What do we have here?” He says as he is looking for size, speed, and type of bird.
Darnell shakes his head, stepping back a bit from Mara. He coughs a couple of times.
And that's all I have to say about that.
(Spoiler is just a refresher of exhaustion rules)

Dark looks to others in the group “I don’t feel very good. Can someone carry this chest for a little while while I try to recover?”

Cure wounds: 4 hit points
(You should add 2 + the spell's level on top due to being a life cleric. It actually heals 7 hit points)
Leojym's hand illuminates with a divine glow as cracking of fractured ribs seem to fix themselves. (Leojym: 12/21 HP)
