4 of the 6 of you have committed to entering the hallway. Im waiting to hear from Kitiana and Kimo. I'll post a map when I get home from work this evening. Passive Investigation and Perception rules are in effect unless you specifically (via privare message) tell me otherwise.
I have everyone now, but i got bogged down at work today and didnt get any time to work ahead on the map. Working on that now. I MAY post it before 10 PM central tonight, but it will be in the AM if its not up by then. Thanks for your patience. I do have everyone but Colm with a torch now. LMK if that isnt correct.

I lied. Kiana clearly doesnt have a torch in her hand, nor could Kasimyr if he intends to use his bow. So it is that Brade, Kimo, and Ali have torches, and the rest of you dont as near as I can tell.

If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Does anybody have any objections to walking down the hall now?

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

Can you all see my rolls? Clearly I need to figure out how to use the Encounter Thing so the bad guys arent attacking themselves, but the rolls pretty much speak for themselves.
Can you see everyone else's rolls?
Also, as a group would you prefer i roll my rolls in public (which definitely keeps me changed to the hands of fate) or private (where I can exercise some discretion and choose *cough* not to critical the barbarian in a surprise round in the opening combat of the game)
Also, since were unlikely to hear from everyone tonight for initiative, Im logging out for the night.
We can't see your rolls, but by default we can see each others'. I wouldn't hate you making them publicly... between a Bard, Druid, and "Cleric" I don't think that we can be too afraid of crits (although I am often proven wrong on such matters).
Also, just a suggestion, but you might want to roll initiative for everybody yourself. There's not really a whole lot of player agency that comes from rolling initiative, and it could get the combat to start a bit quicker.

It's reasonable but interesting that you all can't see my rolls. Ill see if I can money around with the setting. I agree about the initiative roll but let's see if anyone has a counter argument. I just hate to rob anyone of their dice rolling.
Rule Check Time - If the creatures attack and have the ability to bonus action hide, then you will be at disadvantage to attack them unless your perception roll is higher than their stealth role, and they will be at advantage for any attacks at your group. Is that correct?
That's the way I rule, unless their hide action is less than the party member's passive perception or there is nothing to hide behind. If your in the middle of football field, any "Hide" action would be worthless.
I think they're automatically attacking at advantage and being attacked at disadvantage, since they are heavily obscured by the darkness.
The hiding rules are pretty vague, but it's likely that being within the light of a torch on such a narrow hallway would reveal them automatically, even if they hid. Not that they're in the light yet, but they might be soon.

My thought process was "if they didn't want us to kill them, they shouldn't have critted our Barbarian."

1) The first drop to zero in an encounter and you can be healed back with no lingering effects. Each subsequent one applies a level of exhaustion until the end of the combat.
2) Keep an eye out for private messages when you move away from the group, or when you have a skill of feature that might make you more privy to whats going on than the rest of the group. Assume that at the moment youre told you may well be the only one who knows it. Do with that what you will.

Good to go

Right click on the die, there are settings for visibility and dis/advantage.

Helps cut down on rolling and moves things along.

To my understanding, if the enemy bears your passive perception, it’s hidden. If you want to make a perception check to find it, it takes your action

That sounds correct

I'm of no opinion one way or the other, Ali is just mostly non-combatant
Just two reminders
1) The first drop to zero in an encounter and you can be healed back with no lingering effects. Each subsequent one applies a level of exhaustion until the end of the combat.
