Tyris arrow strikes true, the grelll lets out a squawk as it attacks 18 (1-6 Oreus, 7-12 Shadow, 13-18 Laladak, 19-20 it will fly towards where the arrow came from).
It swoops down and attacks Laladak tentacle Attack: 8 Damage: 11, beak Attack: 20 Damage: 7
The tentacle misses Laladak but the beak stabs into your side.
Laladak's attention was focused on the tentacles instead of the body of the grell. He jabbed where a tentacle was but it move out of the way, as they do
Oreus is up, you didn't get an opportunity attack, because it didn't come for you, and I had decided to place you in a different part of the balcony from Shadow and Laladak in your search for cover.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OREUS
Hearting beating fast, even out of immediate danger, Oreus tries to take in what happened: he never saw a creature like that, half hawk, half jellyfish...
What the hell is that? unlikely it live here, who put it here? is it hungry or just defending...?
but there is no time for thinking, the beast is already attacking Ladalak.
Oreus rushes towards it, trying to pierce it with his weapon, summoning the help from the gods hoping they are listening
MOVE: From where Oreus was to 10 ft from the grell
ACTION: Attack: 20 Damage: 7
BONUS ACTION: wit the rear of the glaive Attack: 24 Damage: 7
Oreus deals a mighty blow to the grell, but it's still active. It attacks Laladak again. Tentacle Attack: 16 Damage: 9, Beak Attack: 5 Damage: 6
The tentacle strikes Laladak, you must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. The poisoned target is paralyzed, and it can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
The target is also grappled (escape DC 15). If the target is Medium or smaller, it is also restrained until this grapple ends.
The Grell will carry you as it flies up towards its nest (The grell doesn't provoke an opportunity attack as it leaves, though Oreus' feat will still work if it enters his range). You are 20 feet above the balcony floor and 5 feet from the nest.
I managed to review the falling rules. It is 1d6 per 10 feet and you land prone unless you take no damage ie feather fall ect.
Back to the party, Laladak must make the save before he can act.
(Considering the last d20 rolls in this system were 6, 8, and 3 I think the next person should feel comfortable to attack. The dice have to hit the average number eventually)
Alben shoots another bolt at the monster he hits 10 (odd Laladak, even the grell)
The bolt flies true hitting the grell. The grell seizes up and then dies, falling to the floor of the balcony. Laladak takes 10 falling damage and must make a DC 13 Dex save with disadvantage, or the grell crushes him on impact dealing an additional 15 damage
There isn't really anything up here that would provide cover of any sort.
