RL would like to try to open the stitched bag and see what is inside, he will get his owl to come down and cut some of the stitches with its beak, then he would like to open his pack to see what is vibrating.
The stitches are also made of hair, like the woven cord keeping the neck of the bag closed. The owl undoes the stitches and light fills the chamber as an arrow tumbles out. A glowing arrow with white feathers and a black triangular head with a line of silver coating the tip and the cutting edge of the arrow head.
RL looks at this then looks in his pack and sees his star crystal is pulsating with light and vibrating, much like it did at the altar to the Mother underneath Marl.
The arrow is strongly magical, with the same type of magic any magic weapon has.
Investigation reveals it has been here for a long time, given the state of the bag, made by dwarves, and was probably brought to the chamber by the ankheg to put in its nest.
Augustin, relieved to see that people are starting to emerge from the cave relatively unharmed, sits back and wallows in his uselessness.
He has a quick scan around but is still distracted by his own thoughts and the others actions (using the last perception check of 9). His mind briefly wanders to being old and frail and struggling to defend himself from the cold, let alone any of the dangers they have faced in the last few weeks.

Turns out it's just RL's spirit owl familiar emerging, trying to convince Augustin to follow it into the tunnels.
Everyone except Augustin are in the chamber with the column and and the ankheg bed. The column has been cleared a little, to reveal the images and the little altar shelf but Grimbald is reluctant to clear it any further as some effort has been made to disguise it. It does seem to be an altar dedicated to Stormhawk, the Avenging Angel, the Black Eagle. Much like the altar to the Mother you found under Marl.

What's the plan now?
RL will poke Vakiel, so is this one about you? See if you can find somewhere to sheath your sword
Vakiel, still very skeptical, will walk around the pillar just looking at it
The pillar is still mostly disguised. Grimbald has moved some of the roots and dirt to expose the engraven images, and you can see other runes and images half covered. There was obviously a reason to hide this altar, but you can't see anywhere to put your sword. Which makes sense you suppose, your sword isn't THE sword this look alike of you is wielding. But you can't deny the similarity. Coincidence? But you're not feeling anything, not the same way Grimbald did when he put the acorn on the alter of the Mother. Your sword isn't vibrating the same way Grimbald's Acorn is, or RL's star crystal. Maybe if you had THE SWORD it might be different and it would be vibrating in your hand right now.
Vakiel sighs. No real insight is coming, nothing is leaping out, no inspiration, just some vague theories or ideas. But maybe vague theories and ideas might be a start.

RL will approach the pillar with the star crystal to see if anything happens
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grimbald holds the swords and pays respects to the Dwarf that wielded it. He Investigates the sword closely to get some sense of its origin and maker. 6
The sword was made in Hammerfast, Grimbald can see the maker's sigil - Master Artisan Frelda Blackshield. The sword has been down here for decades. Moisture from the earth has rusted it badly. Well crafted, but obviously not magical.
Esa, hearing Augustin clammering away, relents and decides to return to him to fill him in on the situation.

RL will pass the arrow around, first to Grimbald since he is there, then Vakiel and finally Esa and Augustin.
What do you all make of this?
Esa, absent mindedly patting Augustin on the head (mimicking the way he tries to soothe her), looks at the arrow. " Give me a moment" She says.
She starts with casting Detect Magic
Once she's completed that, she will also examine it closely, Investigation Check 22

RL will approach the pillar with the star crystal to see if anything happens
The star crystal continues to thrum softly, glowing softly in rhythm.
RL will move the star crystal around and over the pillar to try to get a clue as to what this is and what it does
If nothing then he will shrug his shoulders and look at Grimbald to say, your turn
Grimbald suggests that there might be a sword nearby. Grimbald will scurry about, looking for secret passages.
RL holds up the rusty dwarven shortshort he picked up from near the dwarf skeleton, would this be what you were looking for?

'Hey Esa, whats on those scrolls you pulled from the other room, I think we need to find out more about these shrines'
