The fighter's first sword bounces off the boulder with a loud CLANG!, but the second actually sinks into the chest of the second goblin, causing a shriek as he turns to glare at his attacker. The blow is clearly lethal--or should be--but a determination enters the goblin's eyes as he stares down his foe.
(( Goblins are up! ))
The injured goblin seems determined to take out his attacker; ignoring the merchant beside him, he raises his shortbow, avoiding the blade sticking out of his chest, and fires an arrow at Gordon.
From behind the party, another goblin peeks around the edge of the outcropping (about 50 feet behind, near the bend in the road,) and takes the opportunity to shoot his own arrow at one of the two surprised adventurers.
1st Goblin
ACTION: Shoot an arrow at Gordon * Shortbow Arrow - Attack: 12, Mundane Piercing Damage: 5 (+5 extra on crit)
2nd Goblin
Target:2 - 1 = Drex, 2 = Faith ACTION: Shoot an arrow at target * Shortbow Arrow - Attack: 8, Mundane Piercing Damage: 5 (+5 extra on crit)
(( Forgot to mention: the goblin behind the party also has 3/4 cover. ))
Both goblins carefully aim their shots, but the second simply misses, while the first strikes a hardened spot on Gordon's plate and merely bounces off.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Like you were going to hurt him," sneered Locke as he turned toward the other goblin behind the boulder. Calmly taking a step toward the creature, the merchant simply reached back and delivered an open-palm slap right to the goblin's temple, then used the same hand to grasp the handle of the blade sticking in him, before planting his foot on the goblin and forcefully shoving the creature off with a kick.
ACTION: Unarmed attack to the goblin * Open-palm Slap - Attack: 14, Mundane Bludgeoning Damage: 8 (plus 1 extra on crit) BONUS: Using Martial Arts to make another unarmed attack * Shoving Kick - Attack: 8, Mundane Bludgeoning Damage: 5 (plus 5 extra on crit)
The blow to the temple is enough to finish the barely-standing goblin; it is already dead by the time Locke kicks its body from the blade, and it falls backwards onto the rocky ground.
I don’t have time to post right now, but I want to acknowledge that I’ve seen this, and will post my action in the morning.

Ok.
Gordon will move the other ten feet forward, going in for two attacks and a grab. Then, provided the goblin survived, he leaps into the air, and land on the goblin in a ground-pound style attack. (If the goblin is grappled, it comes with Gordon on the jump, taking the 2d6 falling damage of Gordon's enhanced 20 foot leap. Gordon, who would also take 2d6 damage, will then attempt to land on the goblin, who has to make a DC 15 dex save, as per TCoE, or split Gordon's damage)
Attack: 28 Damage: 9
Grapple: 28
Attack: 10 Damage: 13
Falling damage for goblin: 10
Falling damage for Gordon: 3 (split half and half with the goblin if it fails the save.)

Faith turns and focuses the magic of his ring on the goblin that hides fifty feet behind them. He wishes for the wicked creature to catch alight and his ring responds.
Bonus action: If its been less than an hour since the conflict with the Gargoyle, Faith transfers his Hex to the Goblin he's aiming at, with a disadvantage of DEX ability checks. Necrotic damage: 1
(( @Dragon_Heir: the second goblin behind the boulder was dispatched by Locke. If you want, you can instead have Gordon attack the goblin that was behind the party, either changing your post and using the game log, or making a new post. ))
(( @Cwreando: would you mind waiting on your post until DragonHeir changes his post? ))
The warlock transfers the effects of his earlier spell to his target, before summoning a blast of eldritch energies toward him. Unfortunately, the goblin is able to duck behind the outcropping just in time, and the blast instead shatters the corner, sending flaming shards of stone flying.
Faith then spots a suitable boulder about twenty feet away toward the goblin, and runs to take cover behind it.
(( @Faith: The boulder is large enough to provide 3/4 cover, adding +5 to your AC and DEX saving throws. And just fyi, it's been about 5 minutes since the last encounter. ))
OOC - ((Grin)) Drex taps his foot as goes into stealth mode to hide while he works his crono meter to tamper with time and rewind time to get another perspective. ((LOL))

(( With Gordon having neither Thrown Weapon nor Two-Weapon fighting styles, I'm going to rule he can only grab and throw one improvised weapon with his action, which means going with his first roll. ))
Seeing the goblin he struck get dispatched, Gordon turns back to notice the arrow fired at Faith. Finding some sizeable stones within easy reach, he scoops one up as he turns back and runs toward the others, then flings it toward the remaining threat. Unfortunately, the goblin again manages to duck behind the outcropping, and the rock glances off the stone barrier.
Technically speaking I'm just supposed to roll 1d4 instead of 3. -- Magic Missile is one damage roll, so you roll one d4 and use that roll for each dart, according to Jeremy Crawford.
That roll is then the same for all darts available for the spell. Whether you split the darts to different targets are the same target.
I think unless you are using enhancing magic to boost the spell that specifies it boost one damage roll you're ok rolling 3. up to the DM though.
for Concentration a caster hit with 3 darts would have to save 3 times.
IT takes full cover to avoid a Magic missile as you have to see the target to cast the spell at the target. Partial cover doesn't help the target.

Drex fires off his arcane spell, and the bolts of magical energy fly toward their target. They unerringly arc around the outcropping even as the goblin again ducks behind it, and the party simply hears a screech and sees a flash of light before it goes quiet.
(( End of Encounter ))
(( It is now approaching noon; the party can again choose to attempt a short rest or just move on instead. The goblins appear to have nothing on them except loincloths and their old, ratty weapons. Other than the tents, which are really just worn tarps held in place with a bit of string, there's nothing else obvious on the rocky landscape. However, you can do a quick search of the area as part of a short rest, if you will be resting.
Drex says, "We can rest and search around the area and camp then press on is my vote. It'll give us a chance to catch our breath and relax a bit. I don't mind pressing on though, if you prefer."
“I would appreciate a chance to rest my mind and focus my magic,” says Faith. He touches his wound from the Gargoyle, gingerly. “And maybe wrap this up in some linens, with wort.”

Locke nodded. "I could use the breather myself," he said. "My, um, stamina is pretty spent."
The monk had actually meant his ki, of course; but while he enjoyed how discussing magic made him seem more sophisticated and worldly, for some reason he found mentioning the mystical ki that monks used to be a bit... uncomfortable. Whenever he dwelt on it, he realized it was a bit silly--he had no qualms showing off his highly-honed physical skills, discussing arcane energies manipulating the weave, or even accepting that the gods granted divine blessings and miracles to their more ardent followers. But a calm, non-magical inner force present in all living creatures seemed a bit too much, despite him using it regularly now.
Shaking his head, the merchant decided to refocus on something that could always center him--profit. "I'll help search the area, too," he said as he headed towards the tents.
(( Presuming that Gordon will also be willing to rest, anyone who wants can give an Investigation roll to cover searching the area and/or bodies (its up to you how limited or wide your searching will be.) Locke's Investigation:5 ))
