“Why my dear fellow eedim what a capital idea! Let’s show the erstwhile inhabitants of this keep what has become of their king!”
Titus then moves towards the fallen bugbear, taking out a short sword and separates the head from its body.
“Eedim be a good chap and prepare his hounds as well. It’s only fitting that the lords retinue see their liege out and about with his hounds one last time!”
heads removed they’ll be placed on floor before the doors ready to be hurled out when the time comes.
Zaxx, as he does, is replaying the battle back in his head. He mentally notes tactical decisions, possible improvements to spell selections, and adds to his building bestiary of Monsters, And How to Defeat Them. Later he will fetch his quill and parchment and put these thoughts to paper.
He snaps out of his reverie as the crude alarm starts to sound. He is vaguely aware that Eedim was talking to him and he nods again at the wiry gnome. Quickly Zaxx checks on Mr Skittles (making sure to pull a beetle from out of his wizard's hat to feed to his little friend) and then looks around the room to see what the rest of the party are doing.
"I say, my friends!" Zaxx smiles. "What a mighty battle that was! Also, does anyone else hear that clanging alarm?"
"Aye manling, we hear the alarm, any moment now every Grobbi in the castle will charge through those doors! Good I say, saves me the effort of hunting them all down!!"
Coming down from his rage, Breccha realises he has been bitten and cleans and bandages the wound. Looking around he surveys the aftermath of the fight, looking at the Bugbear king especially.
Kryinor moves Gundren to a safer position behind the large throne. Kargan Pulls down the heavy, dirty drapes and lets sunlight stream in through the high arrow slits in the walls. The left over carnage is now in more vivid colour, though the fresh air does something to disperse the stale stench of the King and his hounds, and the reek of the blood and carrion.
Once finished with the drapes the stout dwarf readies himself near the door to the throne room, an eager look in his eyes.
Titus and Eedim sever the heads of their defeated foes and place them by the door. Eedim shakes the drying blood off of his axe and stands next to Kargan and gives him a playful nudge, "Like old times eh, eh?", he smiles and draws a flask from his hip pouch and waggles it in front of the Dwarf, "Wee tot to liven the blood Dwarfy?"
Titus sand Breccha search the room quickly, the sound of the alarm ringing in their ears.
They find various items of furniture and day to day utensils that are crude and not worth very much about the room. Where Groll fell are his shield and spiked club. The club still smolders with the disturbing black oily smoke. Groll's corpse wears some dirty tatters of once fine clothing peekign out from underneath his thick hide and chain armour.
Searching the pile or ornate and filthy rags that form Groll's bed Breccha finds three healing potions [2d4+2 variety] a pouch containing 220 silver pieces and 31 gold pieces, and a leather scroll case with a parchment in side. A brief inspection of the parchment reveals a map that the barbarian recognises as depicting the local region of the Triboar trail.
During the preparations and the furious search Zaxx and Mr Skittles take a moment to drink in the events and the scene and share a moment. Then the young wizard returns to the present and guardedly stares at the door.
A few moments later some scuffling on stone flags is heard outside the door.
A gruff voice calls loudly in Goblin." Ka-Groll nick da goff?", a moments hesitation, "Ka -Doge Groll nick da goff?"
Kryinor finding his place of calm, places the pillow from the bugbears bed behind the throne and then moves Gundren so that that the throne conceals his body from the doorway.
OOC : For Don
OOC: As Kryinor is behind the rest of the group i will leave it up to you Don if the others see my reaction to the worg's desecration.
Kryinor looks up at the sound of chopping axes, he says nothing, but as the worgs heads are severed from there bodies, he scowls and his face grows dark.
"Now that we have found him, I will not leave his side until we are out of this place." Kryinor positions himself between both doors and gundren.
His finger tips swirling with icy air around them.
Casually passing a potion to Titus, Breccha responds to the noise outside by indicating he will take an ambush position flat against the wall beside the door on the opposite side to which it opens, so anyone entering would be already in the room before they see him.
Eedim clears the benches blocking the door and makes ready.
Breccha moves to the opposite side of the door ready withe weapon in hand.
Krynor gently makes Gundren as comfortable as possible behind the throne. His face angry and concerned looking at the Worgs desecrated bodies. He thinks for a moment Eedim may have looked over to him and frown in return, his face then returning to its usually banal inscrutable facade. Though he is not sure.
Zaxx and Mr Skittles move their makeshift barricade so that it faces the door and the young mage seems to retreat in his head, no doubt readying an array of spells.
Kargan stands resolute in front of the heavy wooden portal, like a stone damn ready to hold back a green flood.
Titus lobs Groll's head through into the corridor beyond. The door opens to reveal 4 Hobgoblins and a rabble of smaller goblins behind them.
Groll's gory head flies in a lazy arc and lands with bouncing wet thuds on the stone flags.
Eedim slams the door shut and puts his shoulder behind it.
There is a cry of high pitched goblin voices and the sounds of many small feet running on the flags.
Deeper angry voices call what sound like desperate orders to the fleeing goblins.
Things grow quiet and a you all hear a sigh from the corridor beyond the door.
"Haha, thats set 'em on their heels! I agree my minikin friend. Never trust, but the hobbies have offered, what are our terms? Surrender their weapons immediately and give them a 1 strike head start then their fair game if found west of triboar trail? Perhaps that will get em travelling east forthwith. We have gundren we need to get him safely to phandulin, he's what matters now. Always has been about our friend. We can hunt tomorrow or the next if they stay west we'll dispose of them in due course."
"I say that they let us depart safely with the dwarf. They'll no doubt give chase soon after but at least we'll have a head start And I still have a trick or two up my sleeve, don't I, Mr Skittles?"
"Well at least the goblins may have taken to the hills, it'll be the Hobs left. Seems the will is keep fighting? We going to let 'em in here or shall we take the fight to them? Kargan my staunch companion you have more skin in this than most, perhaps you take the lead?"
With that Titus draws both shortswords with a flourish

"Good work lad, Gundren has survived many hardships during his adventures, this time will just add to his list o' hair raisin' stories."
"Move gundren behind the throne, more Grobbi are on the way"

Titus then picks up the kings head.
"Eedim, be a good friend and open the door, let's send them their kings regard."
on the door opening Titus hurls the head through the opening door
"Close the door Eedim we should give them a moment to ponder their fate! haha"
"Now chaps ideas for cleaning out this infestation? I always like the purifying effects of a fire"
Seeing Titus in action Zaxx rotates the overturned table towards the door and takes cover.
"Ready! Once more unto the breach, boon companions!"
Kryinor finding his place of calm, places the pillow from the bugbears bed behind the throne and then moves Gundren so that that the throne conceals his body from the doorway.
