"dammit we almost had him!" I thump the ground with my fist before rising stiffly,
I will head over to Kargan and Titus. "We will get him next time, now we know his tricks, he wont get away a second time. Is Eedim okay?I didnt see him follow you both out?
I need some time to regain my strength, i exhausted all of my power in that fight, when we have our strength back we can search the rest of the cave, I dont know where our one eyed friend went but im sure if we tried to fight him now we would lose more than our dignity, an hour and i should have the worst of these wounds patched up and right to shape shift again.
"Och, its burns my britches that scum got away, but mark mae words, I will not rest till I have his neck under mae axe!!"
"Tis been a grand fight laddies, but it's taken a toll, best we go back to Eedim an' take some feed and rest to recover, while I ask the two gents a few polite questions!!"
"Yes friends its been quite a ride! I agree with you two fine chaps, lets rest some rest and something to eat, then give this lair a good a going over. Kargan I'll give you a hand to question our captives."
Realising that for some reason fate favored the evil wizard this day, you head back to the cellar of the ruined mansion to check on Eedim and lick you wounds. You find your stalwart Gnomish comrade sitting on the first flight of the southern stairs with his weapon trained on the thugs.
He looks at you bloodied and beaten and says, "He got away then, no matter we did our best and no doubt will have a second chance sooner than we think to set matters right."
The captive ruffians keep mostly to themselves and only occasionally mumble something in a distinctly surly manner.
OOC: Do you want to take a short or a long rest? and would you all be so kind as to make a perception and insight check :)
"Seems your boss has legged it an' left you two to fend for ye-selves, so what ye think o' that? No' a man to owe fealty to I think!" "I am seeking a friend, a dwarf by the name of Gundren, taken by your Grobbi pals, what ye know of him?"
The two bandits exchange looks and then on of them, the older, speaks, "Loyalty owed while the money flowed..." he chuckled to himself. "The Glassstaff was a fool who put on airs and graces beyond his ken, but he paid well and the people feared us with a wizard at our backs."
The younger shakes his head and looks at the other angrily, "The Spider will kill up both if you keep flapping you trap like that!"
The older laughs again, "The Spider don't give two shakes about us lad, he has far bigger fish to fry. I'm looking to save my neck by being helpful to our new friends here and then be on my way." He looks at his captors with a knowing smile on his face. "What say you? One hand washes the other..."
Eedim looks at Kryinor and smiles, "Nothing crawling into a bottle for a night wouldn't fix friend." Eedim looks visibly more relaxed now you area all back to help deal with the Thugs.

"My dear fellows it appears one thinks the unseen is more a danger than the present and the other of you thinks that his captors are open to a bargaining. Let me set you both straight. Firstly, You are merely alive due to my wish. If I withdraw that fancy my dwarven friend here will separate your brutish heads from your bodies. Now that is your reality. Secondly, whilst you may have information we seek, giving it prolongs your pitiful existence, withholding ensures you demise, we can always gain other knowledge by other means, do not think yours are the only heads we will delve er' this night! Thirdly, and lucky for you I am of a merry mind after such a wonderful evening of martial exercise, and I am prepared to offer one small concession. One of you will go free from your current predicament. He who sings the loudest gets a most magnanimous pardon from your esteemed company and is able to steal away to parts unknown never to heard of again - For if we do see or hear of you your life is forfeit - see we will own your very existence from this this day on after our dear friend the druid casts a geas upon you we shall always know your activities! The second, less forthcoming of you will be offered to the people of this poor town to visit their justice on."
"I suggest you think long an hard on what path you wish to take. yes?"
"Aye, good to see at least one o' ye has some sense, i'm sure we can come to some arrangement if ye can tell me about Kargan. He was taken by the grobbi down the road a'ways and sent on further, have ye seen or heard 'bout him?"
I lean against the wall near titus and Kargan and nod approvingly when Titus mentions that i will plan on putting a spell upon them when they leave here ‘I do indeed have a ritual that will follow these two to the end of there days, i will get myself ready. With that i get myself ready to cast the ritual version of Detect magic.
The thugs eyes grow a little wider at Titus' words.
They older salt and pepper haired one looks at Titus and says with and ingratiating smile, "Your willing and humble servant. I will tell all I know and be on my way as I already said."
They younger trips over his words in the race to get them out, "Don't listen to him he is a lair, we don't know anything, but I will help if I can. Just don't give me to the townspeople!"
You all feel that both are telling the truth as they know it.
For Titus and Eedim:
You can both see the concern for thier safety on the Thugs faces, The younger seems to be very afraid of you all now after Titus' words. The older seems wary, and calculating and keps looking tot he Door under the flight of stairs in the North wall every now and then. But carefully it may be an unconscious action or he may hope you don't notice him doing it.
The older Thug looks unhappy and nervous as you deafen, gag, and hood him, but he does not resist. He sits the in sullen silence as you question the younger Thug.
The younger Thugs shoulders slump, "Through that door are the crypts, the holding cells and the armoury. But I would not take that path, there is a false floor in the hall leading to the crypts." He looks unsure and then asks, "You'll let me go after I tell you all I know right?"
Kryinor performs the short ritual as the questioning continues, the younger Thugs eyes dart nervously at the Druid the whole time.

I cast cure light wounds on myself 8
"I will know if you lie"
I will then take a bag and hood the older thug after sticking wax in his ears to muff and tying a padded rag into his mouth to gag him.
"now young one, tell me, whats behind that door?" pointing to the suspicious door "quietly now, my elvish ears will hear you well enough"
"Kryinor my dear friend perhaps a little spell to see what dwimmers abound hear abouts?"
‘I think i can manage that’
The older Thug looks unhappy and nervous as you deafen, gag, and hood him, but he does not resist. He sits the in sullen silence as you question the younger Thug.

Kryinor performs the short ritual as the questioning continues, the younger Thugs eyes dart nervously at the Druid the whole time.
‘There was a man’s body at the bottom of the crevasse when we entered this place, who was he?
I ask the question if once ive completed the ritual we are still interrogating them.
"Young one you'll tell us all then I will decide your fate. Speak freely and the truth will set you free"
"Tell me all about the place. Where everything is and where the traps and unfortunate things are"
Who is still here, who is not, where are the prisoners now? what was done with those that are not?"
"Why were you here? Where did you come from, who is your employer and where is he?"
"you see I want to know all my young prisoner, tell all, and all will be well"
"Speak now"
