As Qelline and Carp moves as fast as they can towards the woods and the safety of their tormentors captured base Kargan and Kryinor make best speed towards the fight in the middle of town. Cutting back through the field and neighboring yards in a beeline for the great ball of flame they witnessed moments before they spy two figure running towards the northeast outskirts of Phandalin. On in a red cloak and one in a black robe...

Again the Kinght and innkeeper trade bloody blows.
Titus coughs and splutters, awakening to see wizened old aunts face smiling over him, "Good good laddy, was hoping that tot I found in ye picket was a healer and not sommin' else..."
OOC: That rather helpful old lady found your healing potion...Have:7 HP back!
’Kargan! The wizard! I race after the black cloaked figure, if i can get in range i will shout ‘Azure Meloc’ while hurling tge magical pebble at the black robed figure.

‘Thank you my good lady, I owe you a debt. Just let me finish the nasty business at hand and we shall talk. Perhaps the other brave souls who have fallen can be seen to? The town healer? We owe them much. Brave souls and a credit to their town.’
I then stand and survey the seen. I think that the remaining thugs are in dire need of an attitude adjustment and drawing my bow target the nearest malcontent.

Breccha's axe viciously connects with the neck of the a thug and parts his head from his body. The Villagers look on in horror at the corpse as it staggers for a few feet and then falls at the head of the villain looks on mouth working in horror with a silent scream.
Titus thanks the kind woman who nods and says, "The only thanks I need my boy is to send those creatures to the next place, if you take my meaning."She finishes with a frightened giggle.
Standing again, feeling much better for the magic draught, Titus knocks and arrow and lets it fly. The shaft flits past the remaining thug as he turns to run.
OOC: Breccha may use his bonus action this round to make and attack of opportunity on the Thug as he moves out of his area of control.
Sildar and Grista continue their bloody fight.
Sildar Attack: 11 Damage: 5
Grista Attack: 22 Damage: 3
The Inkeeper and the Knight lock weapons and struggle for advantage. Both are looking tired and losing a lot of blood.
Kryinor's sling propel the magic stone with great force. It is a marvelous shot and the stone strikes with a heavy thud on the back of the robed figure head. His body goes limp and he crashes face first into the ground and tumbles to a stop.
Kargan begins pursuit of the other Thug who redoubles his efforts to get out of town. The wild angry face of a dwarven warrior more than enough encouragement.
Another stone leaves Kryinor's sling , making a buzzing hiss as it fly's true and strikes the fleeing red cloak with a thud. He too goes down in a tumble of arms and legs. Kargan again finds that dwarves are built for endurance and not for speed.
Titus sends another arrow at the front of the Sleeping Giant, this time with Grista as his intended target. But the melee is too close on the threshold and the arrow thunks into the sill above the two combatants.
As the second thug fighting Breccha picks his moment to leave he exposes a considerable gap in his defense that is quickly filled with an axe. He goes down with a look of shock and horror on his face as his left arm fly's free of his torso and a fountain of blood gushes from the torn shoulder. He gasps for breath for a few moments and then lies still.
Grista's morale finally crumbles, as she now faces two vectors of attack, and she tries to flee inside the tap house.
Sildar Picks his moment and flicks his sword at her retreating form.
Sildar Opportunity attack: 4 Damage: 8
The exhausted knights swing goes wide as Grista proves that dwarves can be slippery as any devious goblin. The Innkeeper disappears inside her establishment, and Sildar begins to follow her his breath labored.

"Kargan, you check the red coat, I'll check the black coat."
I reach down to check the black cloaked individual with one hand outstretched the other ready to cast a spell (frostbite) just in case it is a rouse.
Con save DC: 13 - 2
Once I establish the identity of the individual I will let Kargan know. Checking for a pulse and signs of life.
If it is the wizard and he is still alive i will bind his hands behind his back, in such a way that he cannot makes the magical gestures required for spell casting and then put a gag in his mouth thus rendering his spell casting abilities mute.
If he is dead or just a thug i will shout out to Kargan, but still bind the hands.
Kargan and Kryinor reach their foes and find they are unconscious. The Figure int he black robe is out cold and is the wizard Galsstaff who'd managed to evade your first attempt at capture. Kryinor skillfully ties him up and feels confident he is helpless as a new born babe.
The other needs some kind of medical attention or he will probably die. Blood slowly oozes out of his mouth.
Sildar and Breccha run in through the front door and Titus skirts round the back of the building. Seconds after you all enter Grista's huge knife is thrown over the bar and clatters to the floor. "I give up, I give up!"She yells at the top of her voice.
Two calloused hands shoot up and she stands slowly. Several of her wounds still drip with fresh blood. "I don't want to die today..." she sighs heavily.
'Leave these two with me Kargan, you should go and make sure Titus is okay, he went into town chasing the other thug. We have the wizard now, I've made sure he cant cast any more spells"
I will pull out the healers kit to ensure that the thug doesn't die. I'll then drag the unconscious thug back other to the wizard and say to both of them but more so to myself as i retrace my steps of the night. "It may not seem like it, but you are both quite lucky this day, had the boy and his mother perished you would have dealt with my primal side, if that had happened..........well i doubt either of you would have lived to see the moon this night. ..........Alas there lives were spared, so i will spare yours, that does not mean i have forgiven you for your actions against this town. The townsfolk will decide your fates."
I will sit with them until they regain consciousness or someone comes back to help me move them to the town hall.
Breccah feels the heat in his blood subside and thinking rationally again he listens as the Elf takes charge of the situation and secures the Innkeeper as prisoner.
Grist gives each of you a sour look, "I were only doin' this cause the had me over a barrel ya see. That damn black robe cursed me to do his biddin'," she looks at Sildar, "I ain't responsible, twas under threat o' me life it was..."
Sildar looks to the dwarf and then to each of you, "Be that as it may...mistress dwarf...you have done ill this day and have abetted a fugitive and a traitor. For the time being you shall all be guests of the Lords of Water Deep and myself. We shall look at this with cooler heads and see where the pieces fall." He pats the sword on his hip, "Then you will know your fate."
"Titus, again Phandalin and myself are in you and your friends debt,"he makes a short formal bow, "I know that this will not be the last time. It is good to have people of your courage and skill to work with, Thank you."
"Breccha my thanks to you also, without your ferocity and deft work with spear and axe things would have gone the way of the villain this day. I am also in your debt." He bows to Breccha, "This is Titus, he and his companions are the ones I told you about. I see your ends are much the same in Phadalin and think you would work well together."
Sildar then walks over to the bound and seated Grista. He frowns, and then makes a contemplative grunt, "Now we have to deal with the aftermath, I'm still bleeding," he chuckles, "Lets gets all this cleaned up and gets some drink into us. Fighting always put me in mind of drink."
Kargan Leaves Kryinor to tend and secure the second prisoner. Running back to the center of town he soon arrives at the Sleeping Giant. Before him he sees the remains of a battlefield, or what looks like one. There are wounded lying everywhere, mostly villagers, but some red cloaks are scattered among them. The ground and some of the buildings are scorched and still smoking.
"They went inside master dwarf, I thinks its all over now..." A young man with no eyebrows and frizzled fringe says pointing to the entrance of the Sleeping Giant.
Kargan notes the blood, arrows, and two javelins in the wood surrounding the doorway.
Taking the steps two at a time and heading through the door way he sees Sildar, Titus, and a wild looking human all covered in various amounts of blood.
""Fighting always put me in mind of drink."" Finishes Sildar.
With only the sky, earth, and unconscious villains to hear him Kryinor speaks his words. Part admonishment, part threat, part statement, he knows not if they fall on deaf ears or find their way into the unconscious minds of his captives. He just feels the rage, a deep current under the relatively calm surface of his thoughts, always there, always watching. Was it a curse, a blessing, or a compass of sorts...
