"This is going to be a pain in the butt! I hope it isn't too hard to fight these things, I haven't killed anything like that before." Keeps hold of Sylrea's hand, "Fuzzy, what are your thoughts fighting these, 'Shoggoths'? Priest, I know you would jump in a volcano if you thought whatever your God is, said to." Cinder smiled, she would aggravate the priest eventually.
Indeed, you got that reference. The fungus-crabs are the Mi-go, the old ones are Elder Things, and the shoggoth is a shoggoth. Tsathoggua is also Tsathoggua. The metal potatoes are electric guns, and the children of the sleeper... You'll see soon enough.
IC: Cedrick gives Cinder a wan smile, "As the ancient tome states: 'Follow your deity as directed unto the point of death if necessary; but, know if it is truly your deity you are following.'."
With that he takes one of the 'potatoes' and looks to Qzgrt, "Lead on so we may vanquish our foes."
Sylrea stared at the creature as it took off "And we are just going to trust this thing? It didnt explain itself at all." She walked up to Fuzzyfeet and took one of the potatoes off of the plate. She looked around at the others with a look of confusion. "Plus, we have been attacked by everything since we started."
Ooc: Alrighty. We can get to know each others characters in the mean time.
"Well, we don't really have a choice. We do this or may not get back home, and that would be terrible." Cinder picks up a potato and bounces it in her palm. "But first, we should have a proper introduction and maybe tell each other what to do if we pass away. Morbid, but I think we should get along together and try to survive."
Zaliey looks to the others in the group as he recalls the hawk familiar. “ I have never seen such things. I love magic but this seems more otherworldly to me. Can anyone tell me how the potato works?”

Cedrick looks to his companions. "Unfortunately, I know not how these devices work. I am sure Helm will make it known to us when the time is right."
Seeing the look of doubt on Cinder's face, he continued, "I know you think I am too reliant on an unseen force, but you have not seen what I have seen in my life. When I first felt the true presence of Helm in my life, I was afraid to even talk about it. But, Archimandrite Balantine, who took me in as a child when my parents died, shared with me his secret. He looked me square in the eyes and said 'Ceddie, when Helm first spoke to me, I pissed myself.'"
Cedrick waited for a moment to see if that brought a smile to Cinder's face, then continued. "Helm has shown himself to me more than once, and I am certain, he is with me even now in this forsaken place."
"Don't worry Za, we can experiment with them if need be. I am not as smart as you but I am trying to learn." Then to Cedrick giggling at his comment about pissing themselves, "I am a Warlock, I am not judging your god. I myself almost joined a Sisterhood of Selûne but was drafted by Izzy before I was able to. It isn't what I wanted but was left with few options, I just like teasing priests. After my contract, the once noble professionals became my bane. Either wanting to 'Save me', or just kill me. So I have a bit of a problem with them, doesn't mean I don't like them. Just like picking and teasing them." Smiling wider and walking over and flicking his nose, "I pissed myself a little when I met my Izzy, she is very intense and scary."
"My reasons for travelling is mundane compared to what you guys told and since were out here in a different plane, I might as well tell you guys my past. Just don't snitch on me when we go back."
Fuzzyfeet looks at the direction of the ocean as he recalls his story.
"I have told that I know the seas but I haven't told the reason for that is because I was a pirate. Joined a crew of fellow monstrosities, we roamed looking for other pirates to pillage.
One fateful night after a succesful raid, festivities were made but I insisted on doing a night watch.
The captain's daughter brought me food at the end of my shift. After eating, I gradually felt sleepy as exhaustion sets into my body.
With no recollection of what and how things happened, I woke up right beside her bed in the morning. Knowing that the captain is the epitome of a daughter's daddy and his tendency to hold grudges with a calm demeanor, I immediately left."
He returns his gaze at the group.
"Few ladies I met say my fur is quite captivating and helped me go through 'negotiations' smoothly. This time, it attracted unwanted attention thus putting me into this weird situation."
Sylrea stood quietly and listened to the other's stories. As she listened, she started playing around with the potato. Trying to figure out how it worked. "Eh, not really fond of those you call higher powers and what not. But, to each their own" She said as she brought the potato to her ear and shook it. As the others continued to talk, she looked around and made sure no one was looking at her. She slowly brought the potato to her face and licked it. Maybe it also tasted like a potato.
Realizing it was her turn to talk, She cleared her throat and quickly told her story.
"I dont want to bore you guys with the personal details, so i'll keep it short and sweet. Okay, long story short. I was in charge of defending a small village. One day, I made a bad decision and everything went to shit. So now there is a demon or two in my head, and my whole entire home town is gone. Not as in dead, but simply, gone. At the moment, im trying to get rid of these demons in my head, and am currently on the hunt for everyone that disappeared from my home." She quickly looked back at the potato in her hands. She would rather not go over more details. It would let everyone know that she was a failure. "Sorry there is no one pissing themselves in my story"
Cinder listened as Fuzzy spoke up, she was curious what brought a big furry creature like him all the way here. He was easily the oddest person here, not including herself. As he spoke Cinder listened excitedly as he spoke of being a pirate and his eventually bedding of the Captain daughter. As he drew to a close about his fur, Cinder laughed loudly and held her ribs. "Of course the Pirate plundered the forbidden booty! Muhahaha, Fuzzy you have to keep your 'shortsword' sheathed or you will bring trouble onto all of us!"
Calming down and wiping tears from her eyes she looked at Sylrea as she began, her tone was already depressed and Cinder doubted this would end well. As Joan spoke of her town vanishing and the demons in her head, Cinder moved closer to take her hand and try to be supportive. "I am sorry Joan, that is horrible. If the demons are annoying just stick beside me, I will support you till they are gone. I already dance with Devils, what's a fight with Demons? I will help you find them, after this crazy adventure. I got nothing else to do, and nowheres to go back to. So we can do this together! Well, unless Fuzzy tries to seduce us with that soft and luxurious fur~."
Cedrick looks at his companions as they continue on their path. 'We are a desperate group, but we will persevere. By Helm's will, we will overcome.' he thinks to himself.
To the others he says, "We each have our past to deal with, but we do not need to deal with it alone. It is written, 'Strong are the individuals who stand as one.' "
Cedrick smiles at his new friends and looks ahead for the next encounter.
You realize that everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, has five sides. Several of the buildings have huge holes smashed into them. Something comes flopping into one of the mysterious five-sides buildings. You can't really see what it is, but it is about large size. A noise comes from the building:
Cedrick is amazed by the look of the strange city. "By the beard of Helm, this place looks as is described in the ancient tomb. 'And yea, though the walls count of five sides, know ye to be in the right place.' We must be cautious." He then takes his mace and shield and makes himself ready.

"The bizzare fusion of crab and fungus looking creature will probably tell us what this potatoes are while we head to the old one's city.
Let's just hope this thing isn't some kind of their weird joke of a ration."
Fuzzyfeet follows the weird creature as it leads their group and continues to talk.
"As for Elroy, since the old ones experiment planar portals using him, they'll keep him alive while he's still useful.
He tried to fight off a balor while we're escaping so I think he can stay alive for a few days while he waits for us."
You eventually arrive at the edge of the city.
