Coltinar, Arr, and Paladin go most of the way together. They pass Upper City's sophisticated shops, art galleries and museums and meet Guards at two points along the way who nod in greeting. The Temple of the Silver Flame is the first on the route. Paladin says goodbye and enters. Coltinar and Arr follow a few more minutes and are already safe in the Citadel of Light, Temple of Dol Arrah
"Ah, come now, you've seen the little lights and such I throw into performances sometimes. I really didn't do much more than that," Rylia says, downplaying her part. "If that assassin came for me it would have been the same. Though are you alright? You looked... kinda strange when you got knocked out." She sounds concerned.
She continues talking with Bryn as they walk, trying to get quickly back to their apartments.
As Bryn and Rylia make their long way home, talking about the night´s events, they realize they are being followed.

Braxiel will walk to his studio, where many of his things are packed already. He will stretch and sit on his meditation pillow and ponder all the things that have happened throughout the night and what secrets this book has. After his 4-hour meditation, he will search through his history books and see if there is anything like this book in them.
OOC: Since I am at home and looking through history can I have adv on this roll?

While walking home, Braxiel comes across a suspicious figure, who looks at him, but continues on his way and Brexiel arrives safely at his studio.
As they walk and talk, Bryn nonchalantly takes Rylia's hand, leans in close and says softly in her ear, "We're being followed. Play along with me and we'll confront him...Laugh if you agree, or squeeze my hand if you want to keep going and try to lose him."
While you are talking the figure approach and try to grapple Rylia."Don´t force me kill her! I just want the journal"He he says! with a rapier pressing down hard on Rylia's throat.
After hours of meditation, Braxiel uses all his resources and books trying to unravel some clue about the Bonel Jornal´s. He managed to confirm that the book is imbued with strong arcane magic. Its pages, all blank, will probably only be accessible if "unlocked" in some predetermined way or by some preconfigured item. As already identified by Coltinar, the symbol on the journal's cover, drawn as in arcane runes, represents House Canith.
Braxiel gathers all the information about the Canith he has available:
House Cannith is a human dragonmarked house whose members are well known for their innovation and advancements in technology. They have some of the most brilliant Artificers in Eberron which are responsible for technological wonders such as the development of the warforged and the lightning rail. House Cannith provides repair services and the house's gorgon mark is a known and trusted symbol that appears on magical and mundane items. Through past wars, Cannith has become the most politically powerful dragonmarked house.
House Cannith possesses the Mark of Making. This mark grants various magical benefits that allow its bearers to infuse items with magic or even repair them, giving Cannith an advantage in the manufacturing arena.
For those interested, a bit of Canith history
History Some 2,500 years ago, the Mark of Making made its first appearance on the artisans and craftsmen of ancient Cyre. This soon led to the formulation of Clan Cannith and, through their natural inventiveness and the power of their marks, they created their own jurisdictions within Cyre and central Khorvaire.
During the War of the Mark, around 1,500 years ago, the Cannith discovered the Mark of Detection dragonmark, and soon after the Brelish half-elves who possessed it became House Medani. After the war, Cannith emerged as a superpower among the houses and used that influence to bring other houses together to form "the Twelve". The Canith worked together with some other as allies during the time. The scions of House Lyrandar created the first elemental sea vessels, and House Orien created the lightning rail, which was finished in 811 YK. House Sivis sought out the help of Cannith to create the message stations. When the Last War broke out, Cannith was ready to reap the benefits and acted as an arms dealer to all nations. They amassed a great fortune in gold, rivaling that of House Kundarak. They also gained something more valuable than money: political power. The Five Nations became so reliant on Cannith weapons that the availability of their goods began to affect how each nation made policy decisions, giving the dragonmarked house unprecedented political advantage.
But simply supplying weapons and armor was not enough for the ambitious Cannith; they would also supply the soldiers to wield them. Thus, in 965 YK the first warforged soldiers created by the Cannith's marched out of their forgehold. By the end of the war, House Cannith was believed to be the most powerful dragonmarked house.
That ended on the Day of Mourning in 994 YK. The disaster that destroyed Cyre also destroyed the Whitehearth forgehold and among the casualties were the Cannith patriarch Baron Starrin d'Cannith and many of the House's heirs, causing a succession crisis within House Cannith. Three rivals within the house each rose to claim the title, each one seeking to rule the powerful house.
After the war, matters only got worse for Cannith. The Treaty of Thronehold not only liberated the warforged but also banned Cannith from creating none of them anymore. With the end of the war came the end of Cannith's role as an international arms dealer and some of their political influence ended with it.
Some leaders of House Cannith today have become determined to restore their power and wealth leading to bitter rivalry amongst the leaders. At this moment, the inventors of House Cannith are hard at work in secret laboratories, relentlessly working to out-do their past creations and create Eberron's next technological revolution.

Being yanked a step back with the cold steel of a rapier pressing against her neck, Rylia takes advantage of the fact that this warforged be so confident being so much taller than her that he doesn't use all of his strength in that grab, and in one motion, quick and unexpected by him, she manages to escape the grapple with a precise dodge.
Bryn, now also holding his rapier, advances immediately, and in a jump, hits the attacker where the collarbone would be.
The attacker, a little taller and thinner than the first one they encountered on the bridge earlier, also seems to be much more agile and moves forward to attack. Attack: 25 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. Attack: 17 Damage: 10
The Worforged, with movements as agile as it is ferocious, delivers two blows almost in an immediate sequence, mortally hitting the two young people.
Bryn, pressing between his second and third ribs where he was hit by the rapier, staggers, trying to take the two steps that would lead towards Rylia. He hears a distorted voice in the background: "Stupids! I don't have time for this!" He feels his backpack ripped from him, and with the force of the pull, he falls faint before reaching his friend.
Rylia, hit in the left chest, falls to her knees for two seconds looking towards Bryn until she completely falls on the cold and wet ground. Before fainting completely, Rylia has the impression of seeing a greenish-skinned Goblin wearing a beautiful blue cloak designed with white and glowing runes. She tries, unsuccessfully, to reach out toward her. She tries to scream for help, but her body no longer emits a sound. She see her orbs of light appearing and beginning to swirl in front of her, each one turning into a memorie; her childhood in the small village of River Mont, on the east end of "the Hilt" between Sharn and Zilspar, her parents watching her violin lessons, her trip coming to Sharn to study magic, her performances for the public, the sound of the applauses... her memories grow blurry. The Goblin with the rune cloak transforms into a beautiful blue dragon and everything disappears, everything turns black and she faints completely.
After falling asleep among the books that tell the story of the War of the Marks and its aftermath for House Canith, Braxiel wakes up refreshed and even more curious to know what is going on with that book and what it might have to do with the murder of his university dean.
Paladin after his nightly ritual, and his six hours of rest, has already done his daily exercise routine and is thinking about his new friends and what he should do on this new day.
Coltinar and R4G3 also had their well-deserved long rest and, after the morning prayers, they go to meet the high priest, since the previous night he was already retired to his chambers when they went to look for him.
//--- Braxiel, Paladin, Coltinar and R4G3: Let me know your next move---//
Warforged long rest
Warforged do not effectively sleep. They are inactive during their long rest. Sentry's Rest When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn't render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.
Coltinar rouses awake refreshed he gets a bath and cleaned up thinking, "Cleanliness is next to Dol Arrah."
"Ah that is better. I can feel more confident seeing the high priest", as he moves through the temple to locate an administrative priest of the day to request an audience with the High Priest. Brother Coltinar checks on Arr along the way to bring him along for the meeting.
Brother Coltinar adds as he talks to the admin priest, "I have a Warforge friend that may stop here soon.. Paladin is his name. Please show him to the breakfast area."
"Arr....How was your inactivity. I trust you were not disturbed? Today is a new day my friend. Remember we need to get you some papers and some employment. Most likely we can get both in the same place."
"Let's go get breakfast and by then perhaps the Hight priest might have some time for us."
Braxiel will take the research he has on the house of Carnath and put it into his bag, he will take the book to his newfound friend, the professor of the Arcane of the university. If anyone would know what to do with this book it would be him since he was the one who told Braxiel about his own marking. Braxiel will grab any of his saved money hidden from his apartment since he knows that what he holds will attract more dangerous attention.
Braxiel gathers his things and walks to the masters' department in the university's arcane magic wing. At the entrance, a young female elf smiles affably as she greets you with a bubbly good morning before answering his question of where he could find her new teacher friend. He enters into the huge room with pastel colored walls and high white ceiling with its corners of arabesques in high relief. He never been here before and take some seconds admiring the magnificence of that environment. Professor Aemon, an elderly Elf, is organizing a shelf at the back, on the left side of the room, while two other professors are arguing while analyzing a scroll on a big antique table on the opposite side.
"Hey, young Braxiel! Good winds bring you! It's good that you're here, I still hadn't had the opportunity to congratulate you on your promotion! I'm sure this will be only the beginning of your long career at our university!"Says the professor as he pulls his glasses to the tip of his nose.
Braxiel looks around and realizes that, by everyone's mood and normal tone, the news of the Dean's death has not yet been arrived to nobody's ears around here!
Professor Aemon continues: "But so, what brings you here? tell me how I can help you."
Coltinar, Arr, and Paladin go most of the way together. They pass Upper City's sophisticated shops, art galleries and museums and meet Guards at two points along the way who nod in greeting.
