Wumgu takes his leave: "I was happy to help whoever will avenge the massacre of my tribe! Now thanks to you my new life begins! May the life of those ruthless bastards end, instead. If one day we meet again, I will not rob or kill you - now I consider you honorary goblins".
The goblin begins to follow the directions you gave him, soon disappearing from sight.
(OOC: Meanwhile, someone had asked for a map of the area near the main entrance, the marble arch... Here it is!)
The 2 white squares are the space occupied by the marble arch (through it you can go inside/outside the bowels of the hill)
Green square are at ground level
The 3 shades of orangish-brown represent different heights: each change of color +10' height (it is not a sudden increase - a 10' high wall, but a gradual increase, a slope)
The dark brown squares are trees
The secondary entrance (the hole in the ground) is quite far to the east - a bit more than 200' east.

Yes, sure, you are medium-sized, you occupy a single square... You could try to hide even behind the smaller trees (those that occupy a single square)... plus some are bigger (2 squares) - behind them you can hide even better.
Tarysaa slowly raises her hand. "I mean, as a rule, my elven heritage let's me sort of kind of stealth anyway." Takes several steps and leaves no foot marks in the snow and ground cover. "Sneaking past guards? I have never tried that."

I’ll hide behind the tree at (16,8) and try to take a better look at the arch.

You can't understand much more than Ardana alreafy did... the bass-relief should have been well-made, once, but now time and dirti have taken their roll. It is difficult to understand what they represented, without examining them closely.
Tarysaa took in a big breath and held it a second before slowly letting it back out again. This was it. Standing in front of a hole in the ground that just looked deeper than she intellectually knew it was, yet, the yawning, black mouth sent ripples up and down her spine. "I will go in and make my way to the 'pretty den'. Hopefully, I do not run into any company." Removing her backpack and tighening her ties on pouches and book, she took a moment to listen at the edge.
(combat log: Perception 15 )
Then, going slowly and carefully, she lowered down into the darkness. (combat log: Stealth 5 )
Losing her grip, Tarysaa scrambled for purchase and fell the distance before making a bone jarring stop at the bottom of the hole. Feeling about herself to make certain nothing critical was damaged or broken, she oriented herself to begin the crawl toward the den.
(Darkvision - racial trait -- You can see in darkness (shades of gray) up to 60 ft.)

(OOC: Oh, well, no need for a second stealth roll, but we should have needed an Athletics roll to climb down, so I'll keep your 20 for that)
Tarysaa, thanks to her darkvision, easily finds the right spots for hands and feet while descending, having only a few pebbles roll down every now and then.
Once she is down the 20' deep hole, she notices that the giant bug that created it was satisfied with the depth and started to dig horizontally, leaving an irregular (put seemingly steedy) tunnel, 10' in diameter just like the hole, that runs in the general direction of the beautiful den.
The elf starts to follow the tunnel, trying to be as silent as possible...
(OOC: Anyone else going down, then? Or is it Tarysaa alone doing this?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

The massive half-orc has a very hard time finding hand holds and foot holds able to withstand his weight. Every time he thinks to find one, all he gets are falling debris.
Tarysaa, below, lucky her, is always able to avoid them swiftly, as if in Silverymoon University they taught her to climb high bookshelves intead to waste time looking for a ladder.
Ilwhyte, frustrated, tries yet another time...
(OOC: the climb roll was failed, but not a fallire so big to result in a fall. Another attempt can be made - with another roll)
(OOC: Daisy will go down as well. Is there anywhere to secure a rope near the hole - a nearby tree or large rock?)
Daisy surveys the area while the others descend, finding a couple of handfuls of small stones and depositing them in a pocket.
"Well, no sense in hanging out here in the cold." The dwarf slips the coil of rope from her pack and looks for something to secure it to to make the descent easier.

is the 20' hole roughly the same altitude as the arch? Are we 300' or so from the other entrance?

Yes! Hole at about the same level of the arch (so you'll be a few under arch's level, once at the bottom). And 250' - 300' from the other entrance.
