Goraseth smiles at Tharanau and packs up the rest of the rations. « That was a close call . I am not sure we could have fight this thing, it was huge ».
He then starts walking with his new friend towards the mill, keeping an eye out in the sky for a possible return of the beast. When he sees the halfling he calls out « Tryn, how are you doing ? Is she here ? The manticore seems to have left… for now »
Melodic and a little trembled voice answers Tryncaryn: "I am grateful for the help, but i am perfectly safe within those walls and have no intentions on leaving them right now. Especially when that thing roams there. You are however welcome to come and hide with me, and i am sure the beast will get bored at some point and leave looking for meat somewhere else."
“But… what? You don’t want to leave?” He says searching for words. ”But even if it leaves for now, this monster is sure to come back. And if that happens in a poor moment it can put you in a difficult spot. Why not come with us to Phandalin until it is taken care of. You are needed in Phandalin and I wouldn’t want you to travel the road alone, not with that monster lurking around.”
The manticore seems to have left… for now »
Tryn shoots a glance to his companions and realizes that the manticore has left and that they approach the mill. When Seth calls out, he replies, “All good here, the midwife is alright, nothing has happened… yet.” He emphasizes the last word particularly. “But she says she wants to stay here and take her chances with the manticore. I haven’t explained the situation with the dragon yet.” He turns back to the midwife. “I’m sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself, let me introduce myself properly, I’m Tryncaryn, and I’m sorry to have met you in these circumstances. We are here on the town major’s behest to inform you about a roaming dragon. We believe that when the dragon settled here, he might have driven out the manticore who is now roaming here.”
" Yes you are right, no monster attack should stop us from being civilized and introducing properly. My name is Adabra Gwynn. I appreciate Townmaster care as well as your intervention with Manticore. But I will not leave that place. I have many reasons for that. One of them is that i have all my supplies and setup here, as well as easier and safer acces to resources that i need. In other words I won't be much of help when living within Phandalin. You can relay it to the Townmaster, or better yet i will write you a letter for him. Now that you chased away the monster nothing dangers me and i am safe. Here is 1 potion of healing for your help as a thank you, and said letter will be written if you give me couple of minutes. If find my potion helpful in your endeavors, please come back and i might have more to sell."
As Adabra seems steadfast on her decision. Team eventually accepts it, and takes her letter and 1 potion of healing as a reward. Decides to go back to Phandalin. The sun is setting on your way back, admiring beautiful sunset one of you hear crying, weird sounding crying. Upon investigation you found a little lamb stuck in bushes unable to get out. You let her out and one of you takes her on the shoulders. Upon entering Phandalin the sun is already gone. You hear little girl crying to her mother about a lost lamb they were unable to find, and mom telling her it is unsafe to continue search in the night. Your team presents found lamb and gain gratitude of a little girl. You decide to go to the townmaster with the news the next day and head to the inn for tonight rest (unless someone decide to sleep elsewhere). You find owner tidying up the place, and hapily showing you te rooms. You gain long rest and start your next day in Phandalin.

Tharanau accepts the healing potion from the midwife with a smile and hands it to Tryn. "Store this well, we'll need it in the future! Thanks for being so brave and attempting to convince the woman. It's not our fault she didn't want to leave so we'll leave it at that." On the way back from the manticore Tharanau mills his thoughts over in his head. This group wasn't only seemingly strong and ready to fight, but was also good at judging their enemies - and finding non-violent solutions. He liked both of these attributes.
"This was great collaboration from everyone. I would like to continue on with your group if you would have me. I don't really have a goal other than make some coin and survive I guess. Should we do the other jobs that were on offer at the job board?"
Tharanau is happy to share a room with the others and start the next day afresh, suggesting that they should head to the south next.
" I would suggest that we do both other jobs in one go. They're both south, to the southwest is the dwarves that need to hear the warning of the dragon and southeast are the rock gnomes with their inventions."
After a good night rest, Goraseth is in a good mood. « I would be happy to have you in our group and I’m curious to what your magic can do. I agree. We could do the two errant one after the other. On the paper this don’t seems like a big work. ». The Dragonborn studies his newly bought map while eating his breakfast and adds: « I’d be keen to see the gnomes first, everyone ok with this ? »
Tryn accepts the healing potion, “Thank you, I can take hold of this and keep it safe until someone needs it. I didn’t imagine someone would be so stubborn and stay willingly alone outside there. That manticore can return anytime or whatever other beasts roam. I truly hope she’ll be safe.”
Tryn was prepared to sleep outside under a tree or leaning against a large rock but when he learned that Elrora had already paid accommodation for him, his resistance broke quickly and he gratefully accepted. “I haven’t slept this good since ages, they don’t normally provide this type of accommodation when we travel with the monastery. Almost had forgotten the sound of creaking wood frames and the smell of fresh linen. Thanks Elrora for the treat.” Tryn digs in during breakfast as if he plans to go without eating until the next day, “First we need to see the tow master and bring him the letter, right? After we can go South. Perhaps as a small group it should be alright. I’m worried, these lands appear a bit more dangerous than I had expected,”Tryn comments while they head to the town master.
Tharanau stays the night at the inn with the others. In the morning he settles his debts (-5SP) and leaves for the town master.
There he replies to the voice at the door:
"Dear sir, we have followed your order and spoke to the midwife Adabra and informed her of the roaming dragon. Actually, we had to chase away a hungry manticore first that was attacking her hut. So it was a lot more dangerous for us than your note would have us believe. I feel a danger bonus to the payment would be justified!"
Goraseth adds "In my life of Gladiator I have never saw such a beast, believe me. You are lucky we were there to help the midwife". He opens his arms wide as to show how big was the creature.
Tharanau hears the words of Seth but is distracted by a flying shadow, turning out to be some kind of pigeon. Really, money doesn't matter that much to him, so he just nods along, hoping that this talk will be over soon.
"Yes well, as you know, the dragon is roaming these parts. The job was to urge her to come here because of the DRAGON ! The note should made you believe you will have to chase of a dragon ! Anyway I am glad you helped her is she with you?"

"Uh, well, yes of course there is the danger of the dragon, which we actually haven really seen yet. The manticore however, was very very close, very hungry and very big."
Tharanau snaps back to reality from his thoughts about the rearing manticore,
Then he continues: " She refused to come to the city. She said, without her stash of healing herbs and tinctures she would be absolutely useless and unable to help anybody. We nevertheless went there on a half days walk and gave her the warning."
"Great story with that manticore thing you know, makes it more believable, because everybody else would say that the dragon was there and such. You know i have people to look out for and i plan to save that place from total annihilation so unless you want to help out, please do not waste my time with your petty extortions" You hear steps getting away form the doors slowly.

Goraseth steps in and bang on the door and raises his voice: « Here is the note she wrote for you, proof we have done our job. ». He slips the note under the door. « If you are a man of word, you will give us the reward - unless you want us to spread the word that you don’t pay your mercenaries against the dragon threat »
The steps come back, there is a silence for a minute. Then the voice speaks again:
"Well, why didn't you start with that then. that conversation would be muc nicer that way. Sure you did what you could i was hoping there is someone who can persuade her, but she seems to be stubborn as an ox. Very glad you got rid of that monster. Here is your payment. You hear him going away for a bit and then upon returning you see 1 gold coin slips under the doors. then another one, and one by one you get 25 gold slipped under the doors as a payment for the first job.
