Hi, I've always wanted to play a Githyanki, but never had an in character reason for it.
The Githyanki need to take their young out of the Astral plane so that they age to adulthood, while Qela was being raised/trained the creche that she was assigned to was raided by mind flayers and razed to the ground. They were away from the creche at the time being trained for scouting duties, which is the only reason they survived. The trauma of their ideal led to them questioning orders more and more until they were exiled from the militaristic society of the Githyanki. She now wanders as crew on whatever spelljammer ship she can, searching for connection to others - but still with the racial superiority issues of the Gith keeping a barrier between themselves and everyone around them.
Not sure of class yet - possibly ranger or eldritch knight fighter.
Array 1: 121115131414
Array 2: 11141191517
Array 3: 141213161311
Array 4: 181214131710
*edit* like an idiot I rolled d20's for stats. This has been updated with 4d6 drop 1. Sorry about that.
Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight) *UPDATE* Had an idea last night. The Githyanki ride red dragons into battle, thought it would be fun for Qela to get her own dragon via summon greater steed. I'll re-write the character sheet as paladin - possibly multiclass too.
Stats: Have to go with Array 4.
Feat: TBA
Find greater steed is a while off for a paladin. Do you mind if we reflavour a giant bat or owl as a small dragon for find steed (not greater)? no breath weapon, etc. Similar stats to a warhorse, but has flight to be dragon-esque

ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Neutral CHARACTER SHEET:https://ddb.ac/characters/105031864/0OMR7v BACKSTORY:
Good ol' Nick (just don't use his full name!) made one of the worst mistakes of his life as a youth by stowing away on a ship... that turned out to be a pirate ship. Forced into a servant role, he didn't sink as low as many of his crew, but did eventually take on many of the traits of a pirate, while finding that humor and entertainment turned out to cover a good deal of his "soft traits"--such as not killing on a whim. Learning a bit of magic and eventually becoming a quick-fencing, sharp-tongued "ship's bard" cemented his status among the others.
Eventually he helped the crew overthrow their oppressive captain, and even managed to visit his hometown under the new captain; but he'd changed, and it wasn't long before he returned to piracy, and the life of freedom and adventure it offered. Now he finds himself looking for his next thrill, while pocketing all the coin he can along the way.
Name: Raeksalos Race: Astral Elf Class: Ranger - Horizon Walker Background: Wildspacer Feat: Gunner (Will need to discuss use of firearms if chosen) Image:
Backstory: Raeksalos like most Astral Elves resided in the Astral Sea before at a relatively young age wanderlust took hold forcing him to leave in order to experience new sensations. When he left, the feelings of hunger and thirst were wondrous phenomenons to him and he endeavoured to discover more, no matter how basic or menial. He took to wandering Wildspace where he spent many years mining asteroids and farming moons before joining the crew of a spelljamming ship heading deeper into Wildspace. It was here he had a close encounter with one of the terrors that live in Wildspace. The ship and the rest of the crew did not survive, and he himself only escaped due to the good fortune of finding a portal between planes. From this point on, he spent his time learning about the different planes and figuring out means of moving between planes and becoming something a protector against undesirable incursions.
A cosmic catastrophe is something he is very interested in investigating.
(Happy to expand more on this if chosen, extending the back story to specific planes and location and choosing a specific terror he encountered so it fits more into the adventure)
Look: Tall and slender with yellow hued skin. Dark green eyes and long black braided hair.
Backstory:
Dredh was born into a small Githzerai community on the chaotic plane of Limbo. From a young age, he displayed an unusual fascination with the concepts of life and death and in contemplating the natural cycle of existence and the mysteries of the afterlife.
Exploring the labyrinthine rifts of Limbo, Dredh stumbled upon an ancient temple to the Raven Queen hidden deep within the shifting chaos. The temple seemed untouched by the ever-changing landscape of Limbo, and within its sanctum, Dredh discovered an old, dusty tome that radiated with necromantic energies. The tome called to him, its secrets promising to unlock the mysteries he had been seeking.
Driven by curiosity and a thirst for understanding, Dredh delved into the forbidden knowledge within the tome. As he read its pages, the powers of death and the underworld began to manifest within him. The Gith community, upon discovering Dredh’s newfound abilities, was horrified. To them, the study of death and necromancy was taboo, and they feared the potential darkness it could unleash.
Cast out from their community, Dredh embarked on a journey of self-discovery, wandering through various planes of existence. A shadow still loomed over Dredh’s heart, however, as he could not shake the feeling that his knowledge of the necromantic arts was merely scratching the surface.
Brief background: Kronger was a standout soilder back on his home planet. Making his way up through the ranks, he was chosen to represent his clan by joining an intergalactic special ops team to infiltrate those who seek his planets mined resources. Kronger unit was discovered on one such mission and he was forced into hiding. The shame of his failure led to many deaths on his home planet and therefore he can't bare to go back. So his carries he's shame with him as he scours the stars for mercenary work.

Fine with reflavoring , but I'm not sure if Find Steed is capable of summoning a flying mount?

Halen Jor | Human (Custom Lineage) |Warlock(Hexblade)& Sorcerer(Aberrant Mind) | Chaotic Good | Character Sheet
In another life, Halen might have amounted to very little, just another soldier in some noble's army to kill and die by someone else's orders. But this was not another life.
Fate came to him in the form of a far traveler - alien in culture and language, and dying from wounds sustained in a battle upon some distant realm. The traveler gave him something, an emerald shard that formed into a ring as he held it in his hands. Foreign thoughts touched his mind, impressing upon him a pact, an oath to use its power to vanquish evil wherever it may rise. In most things, Halen took an approach that many called reckless, and this proved to be no exception. Words of an oath he'd never heard before fell from his lips, affirming the pact that would give him power.
For the past few years he's honored the oath he spoke that day. No longer does he use his strength to kill for nobles, but in service of a higher ideal of justice.

Backstory: Wrench has been traveling the cosmos for as long as he can remember. He was created to serve on a shipping vessel as the mechanic. Meant to stay with his initial vessel, his captain took a liking to the mustachioed little construct and kept him when he moved on to another vessel. They worked together for years, becoming good friends in the process. One trip, a group of raiders attacked the ship and slaughtered the crew. Wrench only survived due to his trusty mechanical companion, Terry. After floating through space, Wrench and Terry were picked up and rescued by a passing ship, who brought them to a nearby port. Wrench spends his time looking for the raiders who killed his crew so he can take revenge.

Note that I'm not the DM though - so whatever you create will need to be moved to the correct campaign later. And I'll delete this campaign when that happens.
As I understand it more sourcebooks will become available as people join who have access to that content.
Someone could have an DnDbeyond subscription and someone else could have the content
Oh yeah. Guess if we get lucky with the players that'll work then. Pretty sure you can make homebrew versions of official content to use on character sheets if not.

Not normally no. Next idea - her Steed is a reflavoured warhorse, but it's the runt of the litter (clutch?) and it's wings haven't grown properly. Qela is nursing it back to health until it finally matures enough to fly.
She won't be high enough level to cast find steed at the start of the game though, so we can work out exactly how to do it mechanically later.

Won't use discord for this one. For the posts I'll just use this thread or simply make a new one.
That's a tough one. I feel like Monk would probably be the best way? Or Barbarian with some feats to make your unarmed strikes better.
Fine with reflavoring , but I'm not sure if Find Steed is capable of summoning a flying mount?
So I don't actually have access to the digital content on DnDBeyond, so I can't share it.
