I don't know what your intentions are. Because you have the +3 modifier, that would have to be 2 cure wound spells. If you intended to just heal yourself with your hit die, it should be 1d8 + 1.
Using the above rolls with +1 modifiers (hit dice instead of cure wound spells), you would be full health and still have all your spell slots.
I'm going to go with that and mark off 2 hit die used, no spells. If that is not your intention, let me know. Or if those were spells but meant for someone else, let me know.
Hit dice are something every class gets to use to heal up a bit between fights. They are not spells. I'm sure it's all confusing now, but it will make sense as you keep trying to maximize your fighting power going forward.

Why are they here? (i.e. does he know what the bugbears were doing here or why they were working for what's-his-face)
Does he know the caverns well?
Does he know of places where there are supplies? (weapons, potions i.e. healing, treasure...)
Does he know what's-his-face and where his quarters might be?

OOC: What kind of rolls do I do? Kat's heal spell is 1d8+3. Do I roll this the same as a combat roll?
You don't use the combat tab, as you don't have to roll "to hit" for the heal to work.
Just use the dice macro. Leave it on BASIC. Number of dice is the number in front of the 'd' in 1d8. The dice type is d8. Add to Result is 3.
Or you can just code it right into the post:

(without the spaces in the square brackets).
And Kat can roll 2 hit die to heal up before she needs to use spells. (Look back a several posts, here).
