Boona begins systematically pulverizing the bodies to ensure they don't rise again......or at least have no means of locomotion if they do so, as she does she hums a little tune to herself.
You stand in an old guardroom, littered with the dead. Splintered stone benches and heaps of rubble from a partially collapsed ceiling fill this room. You see ruined stone bunks and toppled weapon racks, devoid of anything functional or useful. There are no visible exits other than the one you arrived in.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ruven's sword melts back into shadow as he relaxes from his combat stance. He'll pull out his notes and quickly start writing, stooping down to investigate the zombies that were just re-re-killed.
Jurgen looks over the guard room (W4). He finds little more of interest.
Ruven examines the de-animated zombies. The dwarves, at least, appear to be miners, dressed not unlike the skeletons they saw in the Old Entrance (W3). Marks upon their bodies suggested they all originally died violent deaths in hand-to-hand combat. Something about their arcane zombification evidently kept them in a perpetual rotting state, unlike the dry skeletons in the other room. Who or what raised them from the dead, and why, remains unknown.
Bryony and Boona successfully assure that none of the zombies try to rise again.
It is perfectly quiet. Even the air doesn't seem to move here. Even the thunderous vibrating wave that rolls through every two minutes or so is slightly quieter here than it was to the north.
Bryony smiles up at Boona. "I am glad you are my new friend too, Boona," says the halfling. "Let's check out this next room. If there's any more dead things, let's smash them until they stop moving!"
Bryony stays close to Boona as the goliath enters the next room.
Boona, Jurgen, and Bryony open the door across the hall. The chamber within appears to have once been an office or storeroom. A large stone counter bisects the room, set with three dusty balance scales made of iron. Cubbyholes carved into the north wall are stuffed with crumbling paper scraps. Several long-dead corpses sprawl across the floor.
"More dead people!" Bryony remarks, eyeing the skeletons with great suspicion. "We should set them on fire just in case they try to come back like the other ones did."
Bryony approaches the nearest skeleton with great caution and tries to light it on fire with her torch.
Quinn stows his bow and moves into the room with his battle axe and shield ready for these skeletons to animate.
He carefully moves to investigate the stone cubbyholes. He’ll take a cursory look at the papers and if they look like they’ll be of any interest to Jurgen or Ruven, he’ll call them over. Eventually he would like to empty the cubbies to see if there’s anything of note hidden within.

The bodies are skeletal and partially mummified. They do not burn easily, giving off a nasty-smelling smoke when you try. They seem fully inanimate. To fully immolate them would require a larger fire with better fuel, you conclude.
Quinn examines the papers behind the counter. The centuries-old paper in the cubbyholes disintegrates when touched, but he can see faint markings on a few scraps, written in Dwarvish, recording weigh-ins and disbursements. He also sees, sitting behind the counter, an iron strongbox.
"Ew, that's an awful smell!" cries Bryony, stumbling back from the skeleton, which stays dead. "It doesn't look like these ones are getting back up though. I think we're safe for now, Boona."
Boona swung at the last corpse with a deep sigh...

...but fails. Combat is over. Everyone may act.
