Approaching the center of the room, Chadwick and Hoid notice a large sapphire like the diamond found in the last room is sitting on the pile of coins on the landing in the center of the pond.
I approach the sapphire. I will pick it up unless something intervenes, while all the Sallys behind their statues behind their keyboards cower in fear of a bad thing that may or may not happen in a fictional word (i.e., those with no intent of playing the role of hero).
Hoid boldly moves to the center island walking across the left bridge. Coins scatter as he walks through the pile and some fall into the pond with gentle splashes. He reaches down to pick up the sapphire. As he grasps the gem there is a loud POP around the room and suddenly you are beset by goblins. Two archers and four goblins armed with scimitars and shields appear as if stepping through a door. Chadwick is immediately attacked the closest one. Goblins close in on Gneuman and Trolkarl and attack with scimitars. Hoid is attacked by the archers and the remaining swordsman.
Hoid dodges the archers but is caught by the scimitar wielding goblin for 6 damage.
Chadwick is caught off guard for a telling blow from that goblin and takes 10 damage.
Trolkarl is hit as well for 6 damage.
Gneuman is faced by the last goblin. it is true with its scimitar for 5 damage.
Initiative is set. Hoid is up, followed by Trolkarl.
(( Trolkarl’s initiative is before Kragen so flanking will not be in effect. Hoid first, then will execute Trolkarl’s move. Agree on use of flanking. ))
I rolled 13 to hit (8+5) and 4 damage (1+3). I assume the one next to Hoid requires no movement to engage. As a bonus action, I use second wind. Rolled 8, for total of 9 HP regained (should be at max (13) health).
Hoid is on his heels from the sudden appearance the goblins and its strong attack. His axe swing is quick and without power, but, finds a weak point in the goblin’s armor. As the goblin falls, it disappears with a POP through a door into nothingness. Drawing on his inner strength, Hoid the rallies to face the remaining foes.
Trolkarl takes a step and deftly runs the goblin through with his sword. It disappears in the same manner.
The archers fire at Hoid, unable to find their mark. Chadwick is able to heal himself, dodging the goblin attacking him.
I updated my position to be by Goblin 3 (who names their offspring like that?). I don’t know if I can get there and attack during my turn. If I can, it is probably gone. Rolled natural 20 to hit (25 total) and the interface rolled 2d12 automatically. Total was 16 damage.
I made an executive decision and moved the slow pokes.

I sense a pattern. Collect gems to exit this mysterious place. I’ll spring the trap by going for the sapphire.
Being a card carrying member of the paranoid adventurers club, I take up position behind the robed dwarf statue.
Good thinking, I'll move behind the skull statue (assuming room) otherwise just try and be in blind side.
(( If you say “I move …” be sure to move your token on the Owlbear map. If there is something to handle we can do that. ))
Give me a plan.

On my turn, I flank goblin 6 and attack. Seeking a quick dispatch.
I moving 5' SW to try to get flanking on G6.
To hit: 24 (I didn't roll with advantage for the flanking, wasn't sure if we use that rule)
Damage: 10
(( Trolkarl’s initiative is before Kragen so flanking will not be in effect. Hoid first, then will execute Trolkarl’s move. Agree on use of flanking. ))
I'll use my lay on hands and heal myself 5 (assuming I live that long).

I attack nearest goblin ...ugh. 3 +5 = 8.

Gneuman is up.
Gneuman’s attack is off and the goblin unaffected. The goblin presses its attack and hits Gneuman for another 5 damage. He collapses from the injury.
Kragen moves up to attack and hits the goblin, it falls and disappears like the others.
Hoid is up.

(( Movement is close, so go ahead. ))
Hoid closes in on the goblin attacking Chadwick so successfully and cleaves it mightily with his axe. It falls and disappears with a POP.
Trolkarl is up.
Moving toward Gneuman and will try to stabilize. No skills with medicine... so no expectations
20. That hopefully stabilizes him
Upon my turn, i turn to Gneuman and utter a priestly prayer (Healing Word).
3+4 modifier =7 pts healed.
