“Oh, don't worry, Cal, honey, you didn't miss anything interesting” Duwamilly downplays. "The usual explosion of violence that settles issues between people who don't know how to discuss civilly. You know, between two parties, to have a civil discussion you need the will of both, while to clash the will of only one is enough... Luckily at least someone had the good sense to surrender... I don't really like slaughters".
"And in fact I'm very sorry about what happened to your family... It must have been terrible!" the gnome cleric seems unusually sad "But we'll find a way to fix things, you'll see!" she immediately finds hope "The world is so full of wonders... that even death is not such a serious thing - even that can be undone, by finding the right means. Who knows? The important thing is not to get discouraged, not give up, never completely lose hope! As in the best jokes, it's at the end that you laugh. I'm pretty sure you and your family will have the chance to laugh together again!"
"That rod..." the ex-Preceptor becomes curious "In addition to thirst for foes... (which is a great thing, mind me... since it seems we're already making a lot of foes)... it can by chance also shed light? For now we all agree (at least, all of us who have expressed an opinion) to continue, but to shed light we only have a few torches... The rod may be able to illuminate a little better ? Or is that not within it's capabilities?"
Duwamilly will then bring another torch, walking on the other side of the wagon from Cal. So animals should have no problem seeing where they put their paws...
The ex-Preceptor believes that any of the other companions should have no difficulty driving the cart... the animals no longer showed signs of nervousness, after being 'convinced' to proceed despite the bad weather. If the animals begin to cause problems and the driver has difficulty managing them, she will try to calm them again.
Meanwhile, the gnome continues to have a chat with Cal: "So, after the horrible thing that happened to you, you became a vigilante, kid? That's why you said before that your weapon thirsts for enemies? Are you looking for the bad guys to eliminate them before they can hurt anyone? Have you been dedicating yourself to this task for long?"
(I could also have Jarro keep watch until a convenient point for him to exit the story)
Since he hasn't done anything since the temple I figured we'd retcon him out back there with Tom. But if we still have him along Delvindra will carry a third torch.
Though she would prefer to walk and carry a torch, Delvindra resigns herself to riding in the carriage and watching over the nobleman and the cultist.
(OOC: Is Delvindra actually telling something about this? If she tells, Duwamilly has no problem in letting the torch to her and keep driving the cart - if she really wants, she can keep annoying Cal from the cart as well, after all 😉)

(Oh no, like a proper Ilmateri she will suffer her lot in silence)
In response to the chatty Gnome, "The ones who have ruined my life and taken my family away from me do not draw breath anymore. I have made sure of that myself. But that is not enough, for me. All who commit such evil must perish."

(Okay, so we'll retcon Jerro out... which I guess means Yasmina is driving, Duwamilly and Cal are torch-bearing, and Delvindra is alone in the carriage with a rescued noble and a bound and gagged death cultist. Does that sound right?)

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Just more torches."Yasmina explains with a shrug as Milly asks for light shedding, not wanting to reveal as the noble is still around what other things she had in the sack that she puts at her side as she gets up on the carriage to slowly drive it through the night towards Tormere, her hood pulled up, Milly and Cal lighting the way and Delvindra guarding the cultist and the noble inside the carriage.

...unfortunately, it seems that Yasmina isn't having much luck getting those horses to get back on the road. Between the rain, the mud, and the fact that it is now dark, they are refusing to move. Perhaps Milly will have more luck.
As she struggles with the horses, Yasmina can't shake the feeling that... something... may still be watching the party from the shadows, but she cannot say what or where it might be. Perhaps she's just feeling a bit paranoid after the unexpected encounter with Firion's goons?
"Hush hush!" the ex-Preceptor whispers to the equines, caressing and patting them "Had you had yoo much work? Come on there is rest and food just a little bit ahead..."
Shaking her head at her own inability to get the horses going, the red-haired half-elf gives the gnome ex-preceptor an embarassad smile as Milly the horse whisperer comes to her aid.

“When it is a blade I can light it ablaze but it is not as efficient as a torch.”
"Oh, well..." Duwamilly shrugs "If Yasmina doesn't have better means either, we'll have to do with the torches, I suppose".
"You're welcome," Delvindra snarks at the Gnome.
So, it sounds like you're continuing through the night. Who's carrying the torches? Are Duwamilly and Yasmina still driving the carriage?

Works for me.

Duwamilly teams up again with Yasmina to get the horses moving (using Guidance and assuming help - consider only the 1st d20 if not): 24
