"I'm in. The other tunnel might be leading us to something way more dangerous than a horde of kobold. I still feel like living through this. We better prepare for a massacre..."
Ospos: From here you can't see any enemies, they must be all the way at the end of the tunnel. You do notice though that they seem to have quieted, and now you realize that the cavern has grown eerily silent, save for the occasional subterranean drip echoing here or there. You also notice a slight discoloration in the dirt like it was moved and replaced recently. It's right in front of the tunnel, now illuminated by your spell, and the patch is about 20 feet in diameter, stretching across the entire opening.
Ospos says to anyone listening, "Can someone pick up something heavy and throw it on that patch of ground just in front of the tunnel. I have a feeling..."
Nean examines the soil that Ospos just mentioned. Is there a rock lying around? If so, he will use Mystic Hand to grab it and throw it to the area that seems fishy.
Nean: You easily manage to find a loose rock, about the size of a grapefruit, near the opening of the tunnel. You focus your mind to produce a disembodied hand, mimicking your own, but glowing blue with psionic energy. Using it, you lift the rock and lob it towards the sketchy ground. With a snap and a small cloud of dust, the rock punches through the floor, sending dirt and gravel sliding down into what seems to be a pit. The hole that opened up is only a foot or so wide, but you can assume the pit stretches the entirety of the patch of odd dirt, which must have been placed to disguise it.
Nean slowly approaches the whole in the ground, carefully trying to figure out whether the ground around the pit is stable enough to stand. If it is, he will jump over it investigate the other side of the tunnel.
Nean: Looking around the pit, you realize that the clever Kobolds have built the trap to completely block the tunnel, its edges coming right out to the edge of the opening, it's farthest portion dipping in a couple feet. To jump from beside the pit to the inside of the tunnel, you'd need to clear at least 10 feet.
Clermar takes out his ten-foot pole and use it to clear the rest of the pit. He then moves back 15 ft and makes a running jump over (STR 16). Turning back he says, "Come on, I can help the next one."
Ospos: At the bottom of the pit, a score of wickedly barbed pikes lie in wait, like a small stand of saplings ready to impale anyone who might fall in.
Frank and Liafial: Thinking in the same direction, the two of you search the room for something that could be used as a bridge across the hole. Frank, you find a table covered in scraps of wood, seemingly salvaged from broken mining carts and equipment, but they are all fairly small. Liafial comes over and simply points to the worktable beneath the pile. It seems just long enough to cover the distance.
Nodrus walks over to Frank. "Pass it 'ere, I'll do the liftin' " Nodrus says while beginning to pick up the table and carrying it over towards the pit, carefully placing it down to cover the hole.
Nodrus: While the worktable is long, the wood isn't very thick and it proves easy for you to carry across the room. Flipping it over and placing it so that it cuts diagonally from the side of the pit to the tunnel, it's just long enough to bridge the gap and allow everyone else to cross.
"I actually like the idea. Better to chose the battlefield instead of stumbling into more of those traps. But it's not a great spot for an ambush, we wont be able to prevent them from escaping back down again."
"I'm in. The other tunnel might be leading us to something way more dangerous than a horde of kobold. I still feel like living through this. We better prepare for a massacre..."
Ospos agrees, "Yup, lets go. Same marching order?" Ospos moves his Dancing Lights humanoid ahead of the party.
Note: the light will illuminate whatever is ahead, but will not light us up as it is too far away.

Ospos ponders, "That would require a very convincing illusion to make them attack."
