"Aye, to truth. " raising his mug again and taking a drink.
"As me pappy used to say, always tell the truth then ye don't have to remember what ye said. I've already been approached about killin orcs for a priestess of Myrkul but I passed on that, not the type I want to be alignin meself with. If Omaha be a concern also I may to look at the board for work instead. "
Watching the Giggling Banshee erupt must be a moment of pride for you, Gramdal. Between the wild, skull-bashing punches delivered by the intoxicated barbarian, to the howling cries of an unfamiliar swashbuckler as he swings from the chandelier, flying furniture, soaring mugs, daggers and swords cutting through the air. In a matter of moments, your taunts have set in motion a brawl worthy of song travelers might share over a roaring campfire in the countryside. In a word: epic.
As you fall against the wall, admiring your handiwork, you spot the treacherous gnome Wymrhoof easily slipping around the legs of the tavern brawlers, lightening the count of coin from as many patrons as he can pilfer. He's particular in his decisions. He deftly avoids a balancing leg and swinging arm. He knows how to use his small size to his advantage.
But then, just as he's stuffing his fingers down a pocket, he notices you watching him. He snarls, and bolts toward the bar.
Gramdal is indeed proud of his work! Twice over, in fact, as a proud dwarf. It is a sweet symphony of chaos! The din of mugs smashing against skulls. The bass-like thrum of tables and chairs being jostled around. The sharp percussion of furniture cracking and bodies smacking against wood. Then, of course, the chorus of drunken yells and shrieks. It is such a primal thing, but it is also some of Gramdal's finest work.
Still, the bar fight is only the overture to their opera of intrigue. The lead is in sight in the form of a loathsome little gnome. "Wyrmhoof..." Gramdal says under his breath as he watches the guttersnipe snatch up coin after coin. That's when, in a moment, their eyes lock. They know each other is there and watching. The very moment Wyrmhoof bolts for the bar, Gramdal does the same! He circles around from the opposite and attempts to cut off the sneak thief!
Gramdal will try to cut him off by the bar by attempting to leap from table-top to table-top and use that momentum to summersault over the bar. Then, hopefully, landing directly before Wyrmhoof
OOC: So, Acrobatics check? Maaaaybe I can ply the powers that be for advantage as well?
Fancy footwork, Gramdal. You'll need fancy footwork to move through the brawl. Perhaps an Acrobatics roll isn't the skill you need to check first. Start with a Perception roll. Assess your floor plan. Your movement options. And, since you are the architect of this rip-roaring scene, I'll award you INSPIRATION. Because I can't stop laughing at the thought of a dwarf rogue inciting a brawl!
Bringing Warrior to bear, Arutha you sense elation as the blade burrows into the rogue, easily cutting through his thin leather armor. You see the blade bow to your enemy, and then it tugs, almost apologetically, as the finishing blow ends the Cloak's life. In the shadows of the rogue's cowl you see true fear fill his eyes, flung wide open, the moment Warrior takes his life. Warrior's voice is like a clarion; it echoes in your mind, a war horn blown across the prairie. Fly now. To the Light. Join us. Even the tide, creature of darkness. Return to the Light. RETURN!
The Cloak's companion howls. "What mischief is this magic," he cries as the flanking rogue slumps to the ground, his essence leached into the blade you hold in your hand, Arutha.
Garrath laughs at Omaha's expense. "You needn't worry about Omaha, Cath. We are two sides of the same coin. Though, my side shines brighter and needs no introduction. Omaha summons the best and the brightest free agents." He raises his mug. "Honor and loyalty."
Clearly, Cath, there's some bad blood between the two warriors. The history between them certainly requires a delicate approach. Is it worth your time to explore? You should make that call for yourself.
A dwarf's handiwork, his art, his spark might not always be found raining from under a hammer blow against a sturdy anvil, Gramdal. Your keen eye sees the tavern brawl events unfold as clearly as a smith folds metal. One turn. Step this way. Flip the blade over with tongs. Step that way. Dodge the barbarian. Duck under a glancing blow swung by a mercenary. Each step is sure. Each movement brings you one step closer to that vile sneak Wyrmhoof.
Panic glows in his eyes as he sees you move deftly through the crowd, sure footing for a dwarf.
He reaches for a dagger, and smiling, whispers into the blade. He turns it over and over, trailing rings of blue eldritch light.

Gramdal's brow furrows. A bit of trickery, eh? So be it. He'll be damned if he's going to let this Wyrmhoof character get the drop on him. Besides, Gramdal's got some trickery of his own. He unsheathes Vapurrr and will attempt to use its power to help obscure him against the bar and the chaos of the brawl happening around him. He is going to attempt to be hide from Wyrmhoof and sneak around in his blind spot and get close.
Norvalor listening in on the conversation about fallen comrades. His face goes stern, he then downs his ale and turns to Cath and the others at the table and says "If you'll excuse me i feel the need to go do something now. I'll be back for a room for the night if you're still here and drinking i'll join you again then." Norvalor leaves the Purple Wyrm, when outside he has a sad look on his face.
OOC: i would like to have Norvalor head toward where the memorial or burial site of his former squad would be.
Clearly, Cath, there's some bad blood between the two warriors. The history between them certainly requires a delicate approach. Is it worth your time to explore? You should make that call for yourself.
Cath considered the words of the warrior. Perhaps there was more to the story, perhaps not, but Cath did not feel like he could word his questions properly without being blunt to man who owed him nothing. He did not want to insult the man or cause any problems, especially this night as they mourned the loss of their comrade. As the conversation dwindled he moved off to check on the kids and Kaiylin. Eventually he found the adventuring board and looked to see what was posted there.
With a soft hiss, Vapurrr cuts a fine trail through the air; your wrist-flick, hand-turn, you introduce the dagger to every light source in the taproom. Gramdal, you feel the dagger calculate, count them, would be more accurate. Each torch or candle reflecting on her spiral blade—a weapon one could say was fashioned from a dark unicorn, if such a creature even exists.
Your clothing begins to shimmer, then fade into flickering shadow. Vapurrr never made mention of the payment she requires to activate her. You take 2 points of damage. For the next minute, roll Stealth checks with advantage. You do not provoke attacks of opportunity, either, but to maintain that property, you must also take 2 points of damage. Vapurrr is a deliciously wicked blade, and she gives nothing for free.
Cath, you easily spot The Board. in fact, many adventures have even said the board was here first, before the door, beams and rafters, barkeep and bar maidens, before the Purple Wyrm even gots its name. Honest work has always been found here, and today the offerings are no different.
An old woman is in dire need of a few sell-swords to clear her attic of bats and rats. She has no coin to offer, only hot tea and a hot meal.
A ghost haunts a family library. The long lost relative of a patriar has inherited the family mansion. The academic is at his wits end. The ghost plays practical jokes on him at all hours of the day. Shoo the ghost away! He can pay you with a potion.
Target practice! Catch my arrow and I'll heal you. 1 gp (per point of damage). Your most humble and decorated Messenger of Heralds, the glorious, delightfully attractive Sir Ehlan Dashant. Experienced adventurers only. Join me and my entourage at the Chionthar River. (There's a map with proper directions.)
"Where are you going, Norvalor?" the half-drow boy Traever asks you when you've stepped outside. He's three paces to your right. How he got there you're not certain, but he has a look of adventure in his eyes, and he won't take no for an answer.

The cloaked figure cries out and Arutha takes joy in the satisfaction of the swordplay. Spinning to face the other figure Arutha takes Warrior and swings it at the hand of the Cultist, Attempting to remove his hand and any threat that may come form him in the form of attacks. His intention to capture the last figure and question him. Attack: 9 Damage: 5
As he does that he also spins to move behind the figure and slash at the back of his legs to hamstring him and effectively make it impossible to flee. Attack: 23 Damage: 7
He lets out a low curse at the pain in his side and how less effective he was with the pain hobbling him.

Combat has only just begun, Arutha. Perhaps in the next round your swords will strike true.
For now, the Cloak growls with rage and fear, unsure of what other tricks you might have up your sleeve. Tricks no one could have prepared him for when the signal to ambush the Grumblestone Delivery passed through this prearranged spot on Rotisserie Row.
He slashes with a dagger. Attack: 14 Damage: 3
And throws his other dagger. Attack: 8 Damage: 4
Though the angle is off, he hurls it at you any way. Doing so frees his hand probably for the long sword at his hip.
Surprised at how stealthy Traever is Norvalor smiles and pats him on the shoulder and with a smile says "You have quiet the talent for sneaking up on people" chuckles a little to himself. "i'm off to see my old squad members when i first join the military. What are you doing out, i thought you would be helping your mother."
