Alrighty cool, so you can mark a Long Rest on your character sheets and continue on with Oliver tied up. Toska will take charge of wrangling the prisoner, “St Cuthbert demands that he be judged according to local law. I suppose with no one else capable of providing guidance that makes you all the current government.” She seems slightly suspicious of her own argument.
Whiskers leads you across the grassy plains. You pass lots of abandoned farms and see no other travellers on the journey towards the Dim Forrest. At the end of the day of travelling you leave the farms behind and arrive at the edge of the forrest.
You set up camp and sit down for another night’s rest. Can someone please roll a d6 for a random encounter.
"Sacrifices may need to be made for the greater good," Theldrin concedes with a sigh. He still seems concerned about leaving Oliver on his own, but willing to go along with the group's decision given the circumstances.
The night passes without incident. Oliver hasn’t eaten or drunk anything throughout the day, and is looking more and more weak and shaky as the night goes on.
You can all mark off another Long Rest
In the morning Whiskers begins to lead you into the Dim Forrest, a dense would have permanent twilight. Full of trees with dense moss and no sunlight coming through the canopy.
@drumdigby: Alaina uses speak with animals to talk to Whiskers and see if they are willing and able to administer a goodberry if I or someone else goes down. If so I rig up a janky little pouch from scraps of cloth or leather and give them my two goodberries.

Xanrym accepts the berries, "Thank you!", and puts them carefully in a pouch
Xanrym is concerned about Oliver, but all he can do is offer the man food and drink. Before their long rest, he tries casting Calm Emotions on Oliver.
CHA saving throw DC 13 or Xanyrm "suppresses any effect causing a target to be charmed or frightened." He hopes that it temporarily relieves the naga's enchantment and allows Oliver to at least drink something!

Xanrym asks the others, "Do we want to carry a light? This forest truly earns its name! A light would make it easier to see things, but it may also attract attention from any beasts or monsters nearby."
If no one likes the idea of carrying a light, then Xanrym proposes that the group moves more slowly (with stealth) and that he goes ahead 60 feet. It'll take longer, but perhaps he will at least manage to sneak up on anything that they fail to see. "That way, hopefully, we at least avoid being surprised by an ambush."
"I think we should try to move through here as quickly as possible," Theldrin says, offering to cast Light on his quarterstaff.
That's also fine with Xanrym. If they're moving at regular speed without stealth (with or without the light), Xanrym will move to the back of the line and put 10' - 15' between him and the person in front of him. The others are more observant or better armored.
Liarin - Whiskers will take the Goodberry and reply to you in an etherial high voice, “Yes, I can administer this if things go poorly for you and your friends. Ramne has asked me to help you as much as is safe to do in your hunt for the naga.”
Oliver looks up at you when you cast Calm Emotions a look of confusion and then terror in his eyes, “Please, she’s mastered my mind! Don’t take me back there, please no!” He starts to back away from the forrest.

Xanrym says, honestly, "No, we would never think of taking you back to the naga's lair, Oliver. But -- see? -- this is the road to Hookhill. Once you get through the Dim Forest, you'll be half-way home! Here, it's late. Sit down and have some water and a bite of food." He hands Oliver a cup of water. Persuasion15
Xanrym is glad to see that the spell worked, but he knows that it only lasts for a minute. He hopes that they can get some water and maybe a bite of food in Oliver before the spell expires, and the naga's enchantment reasserts itself.

(OOC: to clarify, Theldrin is suggesting not slowing down to a Slow pace to be extra stealthy, but not Fast either where we'd lose Perception.)

Roll an Arcana check please Avery.

Avery asked the question, but could Xanrym or Theldrin make that skill check?

Theldrin will Help if possible to give Xanrym Advantage, or here is his Arcana check:
