Since Lldryk is headed downstairs and Liarin sounds like she's headed down, too, Xanrym goes down with them. "In for a copper, in for a gold," he says in a somewhat nervous voice. Xanrym follows Lldryk down the stairs, dagger still in hand. While they're all on the stairs, he says to the ranger in front of him and the others behind him, "Try not get too spread out. There could be cultists in front of us and behind us in those rooms that we didn't check upstairs."
Alright, i'll wait a couple of hours to hear from the others, and then i'll just keep taking turns in the initiative order, no need to reroll.
(OOC: drumdigby, you may need to remind us of initiative order. 😇)
Xanrym follows Avery down the stairs, but he doesn't want to rush into an unknown scene downstairs. He just moves into the room, surveys the scene, and then takes an action (which depends on what he sees).
Movement: 30', which looks like it will take him into the common room, not directly in front of the fire place but one square to the east of it. That should leave Theldrin and Liarin enough room to pass him easily (w/o requiring double movement cost) if they both want to dash farther into the room this round. Action: ?? Depends on what he sees downstairs. Bonus Action: ?? Depends on what he sees downstairs. Free Action: Talking.
Ok back to Initiative, Liarin is up but is still standing down the hallway, will have to dash to get to the top of the stairs. You could also walk and be in range of your friends to cast support spells on them if you want/are able to. Lldryk can see what is downstairs, Misha calling to Bertram to help her with you lot.
Once I get close to the exit of the passage way I am going to slow and observe what I can and recount back to Xanrym what I see before exiting the passage.
Misha runs down the rest of the stairs. She gets into the middle of the room and orders Bertram to stop your descent. She then casts Sacred Flame at Lldryk as he comes down.
DEX 12 Save or 6 Radiant Damage.
Bertram runs up to the stairs but is unable to get to the top to take a swipe at Lldryk. He had a look in his eyes you’ve not seen before. Like he isn’t really looking at you, he’s distracted by the horror in his mind. He pulls a knife out of his pocket and throws it at you:

Attack: 17 Damage: 2 Piercing.
(OOC: clarifications.
@drumdigby - Is Bertram still at the base of the stairs, blocking our way? Do you allow moving through an opponent's space using the tumbling or overrun bonus actions?)
I make the save and take 2 HP damage from Bertram and try to retreat to the back of the group.
(OOC: I'm going to assume that Bertram is still blocking our way.)
Xanrym follows Lldryk down the stairs. When Misha casts her spell, Lldryk dodges the unholy flame, but he unfortunately steps right into the path of Bertram's knife. When Lldryk falls back to recover, it leaves Xanrym facing the dazed-looking barkeep.
Resolving not to kill the barkeep, Xanrym draws his short sword and attacks. If he manages to knock out Bertram, Xanrym continues into the common room. Otherwise, I guess he'll have to stop at the bottom of the stairs to continue dealing with Bertram. He'll squeeze to the side of the stairs if the others want to move past him.
Movement: 30' down the stairs and (if he knocks out Bertram) straight ahead into the common room. Action: Attack, Shortsword: 6, Damage: 7 Bonus Action: Attack (off-hand), Dagger: 20, Damage: 1 Free Action: Item interaction - drawing shortsword
You are stuck in the stairwell, i'l put up a battle map in a little while. Bertram dodges the shortsword but takes a graze from the dagger. He hardly shows any reaction to the nick.
Misha takes the firebolt to the chest and is looking really worse for wear now. She is looking desperately at the door and seems to be weighing up a few things in her mind.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
But doesn’t make it. She yells one last curse at you before her flaming clothes consume her. “You will die, and your corpses will serve as a meal for ‘her’ and her children.”
Bertram is still bleary eyed and coming at you, he attacks Xanrym with his sword:
Unless Xanrym turns back, Theldrin is ready to pursue Misha into the downstairs area.

Theldrin up.
Theldrin moves as far down the stairs as he can, to see if he can get a view of the room and Misha.
This is what you see
If he can see Misha and get in a decent shot, even if she has some cover, Theldrin will try to shoot a Fire Bolt at her.
Attack: 20 Damage: 3
