OOC That familiar is costly 10 gold when starting out for sure!
Well anything that can fly doesn't gotta roll of course.
But making this harness it's still incredibly slick and dangerous but.. Doing exactly this grants anyone using Doc's contraption advantage on the DC 12 Dex save heading down!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Khabibulin cast Light on his shield and shines the light down the hole to see what they can. He secures the shield and will use the rope to lower himself in: Dex ST 23
Once at the bottom he pulls the shield back out and holds it under his poncho such that just the bottom is sticking out to cast light in front of them. Drawing his raiper as he starts to look around at what he can see with the light.
Axel slides down with relative ease and agility. However as Axel descents as noted before it is pitch dark down here and he can see a single thing without light.
Baldri however can see just fine as he begins to descend down.
Khabibulin cast light allowing Axel and himself to see. Anyone without dark vision to far from this light won't be able to see.
Khabibulin was right to look around it seems... He see's a tarp hidden by leaves and dirt a pit fall trap. One he can point out to his friends in time (if he wishes too.) He also knows if Ayst or Avery slip on the way down they will fall upon this trap. However.. they can hear scurrying and noises up ahead. Creatures attracted by the light.
Coming around the corner in a scurry are eight creatures. Six humanoid rat-like creatures, the two in the back are even taller more elongated arms with a disturbing gait to them. The 6 small one's in the front have makeshift sling shots while the two in the back have a hand crossbow and a shortsword? They aren't crude either which is odd..?
"Food cometh! yes yes! The Rat god blesses us with shiny food!"
OOC Avery needs a dex save DC 12 or advantage with the rope or he can think of another solution down.
Also you can right click on a skill check in the character sheet for advantage or disadvantage
Oh nvm you found it lol.
I moved the pieces on Owlbear to match where they are ^^
Also roll me iniative~!
I'll give Ayst and Avery time to slide down before the combat starts if they wish too.
OOC Real fast Doc using the familiar for dark vision can help him walk around but won't help him negate the effects for combat if he does not use light or his own dark vision.
I can do a real post later but wanted to let that be known real fast
And for recon stealth and perception checks with the Owl statblock on the Familiar works as well
As avery slides down he realizes he is picking up speed and going too fast he panics for a moment and extends his claws into the side of the tunnel. He completes the downward decent climbing which feels more natural to him.
As he lands on the floor he hears the rats say something so he grabs his Yklwa and readies himself if they advance and try to attack (Readied action).

Doc shares Olive's senses as she stealthily performs recon into the darkness, using her 120' darkvision.
