Usually, Amiz would have gladly taken some dwarven spirits, but he is on the job and so declines their kind offer. Amiz shares one of his escorting jobs that ended up skittering across a frozen lake when his client failed to mention that they were being chased by brigands and for good reason. "Right then and there I asked for my payment. If he could not pay, I would have left him there to be killed. Lucky for him he had the coin on hand. It's one thing to hire a sellsword discretely and it's another not telling him that you know what dangers haunt your steps"
It’s hard to tell with dwarves as they seem so unemotional at times. But you can tell after having travelled with these ones, that they are very uncomfortable with your story. Something about it makes them very nervous.
Amiz lets out a sigh. Deja vu again. "Yuddic, it seems I struck a nerve. You fellows seem uncomfortable. Tell it to me straight what are you hiding? Do you not have enough coin to pay us or is there somebody or something after all of you?"
Draíocht accepts some ale as they settle around the campfire. For the most part he remains quiet, still figuring out the dwarves. Though he shares some tales of the woods here and there. He listens on as his companions tell their tales. Valar's bravery and willingness to serve others. A far more active role in things compared to his own life. Of Thelanis' saving a, what was it, orc village from an orc tribe? It seemed confusing in the wording but the general vibe was positive. And he smiled upon hearing her being able to take a trick from her father and put it to good use. She seemed to carry a heavy burden with that sword. It was nice to see her being proud of her heritage.
As Amiz tells his tale of the client and brigands he smiles. The leonin's pragmatism was a bit different from his own mindset. But he appreciates how direct Amiz is. As the mood begins to get turbulent he listens intently as Amiz speaks to Yuddic. Perhaps they would soon be learning just why the escort offered 100gp.
[[ Figure another set of rations for the berries earlier. But not adding another ration to the sheet, forgot to tack one off for yesterday's food. And will tick off another ration for today's. So from 9 to 8. ]]
At a few words in Dwarvish from Yuddic, the dwarves regain their composure. Yuddic waves his hand, “It is nothing, just the way you talk about your shifting focus. For us dwarves, when we choose a course of action it becomes our focus. If we break from it, our god will punish us dearly. The idea that you could change yours in the middle of a mission… it is distressing to us. Blasphemous.”
Amiz give Yuddic a clear look of suspicion, but he stays on the job for now. These dwarves are definitely hiding something. Great now I have to be vigilant against my own clients' shenanigans.
Amiz uneasily rests for the coming day more alert than usual.
Draíocht asks, "Did he change his course of action? Or had he entered into one based on false premises? Any agreement requires both sides to understand what the agreement is." He looks at the others. "Nice night tonight. It's been a while since I've been in the hills. I think I might take some time taking it in before trancing."
[[ He's willing to take 1st watch. Spend his spell slots on goodberry. Trance. And then could help with a later watch. And perhaps continue his woodcarving from the previous night. Think he'll be trying to make a figurine of a wolf. ]]
You all eventually settle down for another Long Rest. The dwarves huddle together again rather than in amongst your tents, due to the discomfort of the discussion that evening.
Can someone please roll your random encounter 1d12 for the evening.
Can we talk about the order of Watch that you all set up? Keeping in mind anyone in heavy or medium armour would need to get out to sleep. I know Draíocht only needs 4 hours to get a full sleep so take that into account.

The dwarves will nod their heads at Thelanis’ story. Although they furrow their brows at the news of saving an orc.
Can either Amiz or someone with proficiency in Insight roll that skill check for me please.

[[Whoops, I had that reversed! Actually considering her dad, maybe not. But Thelanis was saying she saved a village from an orc tribe]]

Thelanis take third watch, spending her time reading her new religions book by the fire and contemplating her place in the world.

Amiz will take the 2nd watch keeping his armor on until after his shift. Afterwards he will take the 10 minutes to doff his armor.
