Sorry folks, had an impromptu road trip to Oklahoma for some family matters, should see a post from me Sunday! Until then, feel free to continue dialogue, and we can assume the characters can follow their familiar routes down the sinkhole safely, where they reach the circular chamber with the large stone door— no obvious noises or changes!
I would really not mind a roll above 11. Just saying. I am hoping that all my crummy rolls mean that I am going to have some fabulous luck in the middle of a fight one of these days.
Looking forward to heading back into the dungeon...and apparently with a silly guard in tow. Should make things interesting.
Ok, I'd not really known the details on the slots in the door. Sounds like we need more items. On to the stairs! Sounds like we need to find more things.
And Sabina has really been trying to defer on where to go - you've all been down here, she hasn't.
I'm just so loud. I think it is best for me to watch the rear. Just remember to come back and grab me. As soon as we have a way to communicate at short distances, you all can just call me up as you note that areas are clear.
Right on-- you approach the end of the hall, and you see what I previously noted, a trap door set in the ceiling, just about 10 feet up the stairs. No noise or light are apparent through everyones passive perception.
Just want to point out that I’m almost sure that no one has placed the artifact in the door yet. The artifact is in Volneers possession, and looking back in the thread, I don’t see any record of an attempt to place the artifact in the door. 😅 let me know if I’m wrong!
When I had Kneecap say nothing happened, I wasn't actually sure if we had done it and almost said that in OOC, but figured we 'must' have tried it, right? :)
I'm gonna give you guys a bit of some extra lore and geography that I've been working on! It will be useful moving forward with this "West Marches" Style of game. Most of the Geographical maps are empty, and will be filled in when you all have the chance to expand outward and explore!
Here's a couple maps I drew up, you can use these as resources:
Sabina wasn't there first time through. Volneer had showed the stone x symbol to the guild master and told him it was a sort of key. That's where she got the idea! (Plus, seeing the door along with that info she assumed more items are needed to get it open)
Hey friends, just wanted to check in with everyone and see how we’re doing and how we feel about the campaign so far? it seems we’re having a bit of difficulty sticking to the post rate we predetermined. That’s completely okay, if we want to reassess or if there are more discussions to be had. I’ve been trying to give everyone time to get a post in, but I also want to just reach out and start a conversation and see everyone’s opinions. All are welcome!
hi all! I'm heading camping later today, so will be mostly offline until Monday evening. I know things are quiet right now but wanted to give a heads up incase things start back up!
I'll admit to lagging in my posting. It is hard to keep up momentum when you check in and have nothing really to add. I do longer posts, but then I worry that I'm being a hog or overdoing it. The previous DM (he who shall not be named) admonished me for my longer posts. I am kind of relieved that people are missing the posts. Because I do really want this game to keep momentum, but am feeling out the etiquette still.
I will take this as an invitation to post, regardless...you know...trying to keep a clear balance to the narrative.
I think that the turn by turn stuff is just a bit harder in play by post. My joke to my son when he asks me how this game is going is 'it just takes a few weeks to walk down a hallway.' I know this defeats the whole purpose of this endeavor. But, I certainly wouldn't be against a short session to introduce ourselves, do a bit of playing in real time and get a sense of the flow of our play online (Zoom or Roll20 or Whatever). We could then meet periodically once a quarter or less. But, it might put some faces to the posts and help us to feel more secure with our play?
Maybe a radical suggestion. Anyhow, count Calim back in and energized (obviously after Kneecap returns from camping).
I’m completely okay with doing some live sessions if everyone else is. This is my one and only PBP campaign so it is still a format I’m no expert in. I think, by nature though, PBPs are naturally slower paced but I agree that we can make it develop faster. I just do my best to make sure everyone gets a voice and post when they want to without having to backtrack, so I think the slow pace is on me. If we are all ready, we can keep going and maybe negotiate a better way forward in OOC?

Just let me know in here what your decisive actions are here! Seems a bit more dialogue may be had

Rabbit Sebrica, Sorcerer || Skarai, Monk || Lokilia Vaelphin, Druid || Liivi Orav, Barbarian || Vanizi, Warlock || Britari / Halila Talgeta / Jesa Gumovi || Neital Rhessil, Wizard
Iromae Quinaea, Cleric || Roxana Raincrest, Rogue || Meira Dheran, Rogue || Qirynna Thadri, Wizard || Crisaryn Melkial, Sorcerer
Here are two options for marching order, not sure if u want front or back Calim? I Think Dorn led last time. Any strong opinions? I'm thinking #1.
I agree with those. Or even #2 but with Calim and Larrind switched if Calim wants to stay in hiding and cover us from behind.

Cool, Kneecap is loud, both with his armor but more with his boisterous young adult dwarven self!
Let's go with this as a marching order. If Sabina/Volneer want to sway cool, but otherwise this.
Kneecap, Volneer, Sabina, Larrind, Calim

Yeah, a few people have gone quiet, let's see if they come back!
Yes! Hopefully we can get everyone going again!

For sure, and thanks for the heads up! Take care and have fun 😎
