Once he turn of age, he found a contract, offering him power beyond his wildest dreams, if he would serve when called to. Subclass WARLOCK

Backstory
K'akan had been a worker in the Hive as long as he could remember. Venturing forth to collect food or materials or to ward off attacking forces, he did what he was assigned to do. For his 'maturation ceremony' (age 4), he was sent out to explore an ancient structure many days travel from the Hive. K'akan ventured forth and soon came upon the ruins. While some stones were crumbling away, whole areas seemed untouched by time. During his explorations, he accidentally brought part of a wall down and was trapped; nearly crushed under the weight of stone. He felt certain his carapice was cracked and his life was slowly ebbing away. As his vision started to fade, he thought he heard a voice. Or perhaps he just imagined it as his vitals dropped lower and lower. Looking about, he spied one stone that was faintly glowing from odd glyphs upon it's surface. Barely able to shift his body; he was able to reach the stone and upon touching it... things changed.
His mind was suddenly bombarded with thousands of concepts, images, and sensations that sprang forth in his mind, some 'Thing' that imparted this knowledge freely, willingly; trying to impart whatever it saw as critical for you to survive. K'akan's mind was flooded with knowledge, practical and impractical; mundane and arcane, this 'Thing' was too far removed from mortality to remember how frail the mortal mind was. The overload pushed K'akan to the breaking point.
After the ordeal, K'akan remembered only a fraction of what had been imparted: the essentials to get you started, the rest being an opaque haze. As he grew in experience, the memories organised themselves, getting clearer, and little by little, K'akan began to unravel the knowledge of power and the mind.

Name: Bok'Shir Race: Kobold Subclass: Hexblade Stats: 171610131312 Backstory:Bok'Shir was a typical kobold lackey for the majority of his life, living underground in the sewer systems and performing grunt work for local criminals. There had been many people he had called master over the years, as groups of criminals came and went, either by going up in the world or being buried under it. But the fact was that he was a half decent burglar, and was thought of as a disposable commodity despite his continued existence. The group he was most recently affiliated with came across knowledge of a gap in the sewer wall that led into the basement of a well to do home. Looking through the hole in the wall, there were strange markings and symbols on the floor and the walls of the basement room. And so Bok'Shir was the one who was called upon and sent through the breached wall first, to make sure it was safe. But what he found would change the course of his life. As soon as he entered the room, he began to hear a whispered voice in his mind. A voice beckoning him to come further, to open the sarcophagus that he found in an antechamber. And so he did. And in the sarcophagus there was a mummified corpse, gripping the hilt of an ornate sword. Grab the sword, the voice encouraged. Take it in your hand and you will no longer be taken advantage of again. Take the sword and be imbued with the power to break free from the control of worthless criminals. And so he did take the sword. And his world did change... Module(s): Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk

Name: Marion Blackwoods.
Race: Half-Elf (Drow)
Subclass: Hexblade. (Going to be a Warlock-Paladin multiclass if you allow me. If not, then I will go full Hexblade.)
Stats: Str13+1 Dex16 Con15+1 Int10 Wis12 Cha 17+2
Backstory:
Marion's birth was filled with tragedy and sorrow. Her father, Florian, was known as the most beautiful Halfling boy in their hometown, with hair like golden silk and skin like white milk. However, the Drows came and took him to the underdark.
Rumours spread that Florian ended up as a slave of a Drow maiden, the oldest and strongest daughter of her house, who had murdered her elder sisters. Five years later, Florian returned to the surface world, but he was no longer the cheerful and innocent youth he once was. His hair and skin had turned ash white, and he held a baby girl in his arms. It remains unclear how he left the dark city of the Drows – whether he escaped on his own, was abandoned by his bored masters, or if the mother of the baby set him free. The house where Florian was captured was burned down in a Drow infighting shortly after he left.
Florian moved to the dark woods and raised his half-blood daughter, trying to shield her from the cruelty and prejudice of the world. However, new raiders arrived in town, this time Orcs. Marion's father fought bravely but was injured by an enemy spear. In that moment, Marion witnessed an illusion of a beautiful dark-skinned woman dancing amidst blood and battle, wielding a sword. Unconsciously, she followed the woman's movements, seizing her father's sword and slaying the Orc. In that moment, Marion realised it was time to leave her home – to show the world who she is, to prove that her father wasn't just a victim, and that her people aren't merely evil monsters.

This game is quite unique. How about we start with a one-shot or a short adventure to see how this team works? For example, we could try Tales from the Yawning Portal, Candlekeep Mysteries, or perhaps A Wild Sheep Chase.
Due to the fact there's been like 20 submissions I don't think Swiftgale will be extending the time this thread is open lol, so good luck to everyone for when Swiftgale picks out their players tomorrow, may the best warlock win! :)

With backstories, keeping them nice and short. Just the gist. (Got two ideas for warlocks I've had in my head.)
Name: Tendilius Mondhaven Paxaramus Race: Half-Elf Subclass: The Fiend Backstory: Tendilius is a scholar at heart, loves to investigate things and keeps a tome of his collected works, venturing into scholarly mattes like history. His main goal is to collect more information for his tome, but he's also a man of his word and not a fan of the outright evil. (Lawful Neutral.) He's always found it helps to be polite and courteous to others and that friendlier dispositions more easily talk to you, sharing what they know. And now, for adventure and glory and history, he's ready to set out on the party's quest.
Name: Cherry Littleoak Race: Lightfoot Halfling Subclass: The Archfey Backstory: Cherry Littleoak had it all. Great family. Awesome community. Life truly was idyllic for her. Well, until it happened. Tragedy struck. Killed the ones she loved and left her, gods know why, the lone survivor. But just because her life took a turn for the worse doesn't mean others' must. So she's ready to go on a life of adventure and fight whatever threats there are.
Modules: No strong preferences. But probably not Wild Beyond the Witchlight. To my understanding it's geared against combat and I prefer a campaign to have combat in it.

I second this as I’ve already ran Wild Beyond the Witchlight in the past and I’ve also played Lost Mines of Phandelver, Tomb of Annihilation and will be playing Storm King’s Thunder soon so ideally I don’t want it to be any of those modules :)
I currently have a shortlist of 8 people total. So trying to work out if I think I have enough time on my plate to run two campaigns of 4 each, and then if so, how I split it up into two groups of 4.
I currently have a shortlist of 8 people total. So trying to work out if I think I have enough time on my plate to run two campaigns of 4 each, and then if so, how I split it up into two groups of 4.
Depending on how frequently you expect people to play, you could always run a singular campaign with all 8? It might seem a bit crowded at first but actually if you only expect a post a day from each person, it becomes a lot more manageable than running two campaigns simultaneously.
I don't like large pbps. If a few people manage to post more frequently, it feels like the other characters get less interaction time. And combat bogs it down more as well. I will do 2 campaigns, which also gives people the chance to do a campaign they like more. Expect a post soon (I am literally about to send them) if you are one of the 8. Thank you everyone for applying.
I didn’t receive a message so looks like I wasn’t selected, which is absolutely fine as it means I can reuse the character elsewhere :) Good luck to the 8 that got through, hope the campaign(s) go great, hopefully if Swiftgale does another one-class party campaign in the future I’ll get in, I’ll keep an eye out for one! See you guys around, have an amazing time!
Just realized I didn't put down a module, I'll edit my application with my preferences.
