Free feom its restraints, the first demon crouches on his powerful legs, then leaps at Koselig, landing beside him. (BA, eacaping entangke used his action. Its just difficult terrain at thia point, no saves needed)
Suddenly, Tess feels something squeezing her. She smells a sulfurous putrid stench and feels coarse fur and leathery flesh on her hands and neck (elsewhwhere, she's eearing armor). Make an athletics or Acrobatics check to avoid grapple, target ("DC"): 21
<My understanding is that current rukes for detect magic alert yiu to the presence of magic nearby, but do not allow you to see the location of an invisible creature, so Tess does not see anything>
The demon lashes out, its snarling fury focused entirely on Gharzun. Blindingly fast for something so massive, it strikes with primal force—bite, thrash, claw.
But Gharzun doesn’t flinch.
“No.”
With a growl of arcane defiance, he slams the butt of his warhammer into the ground, and a shimmering field of force erupts around him, forming a geometric halo of protective wards. Each blow that should have crushed him instead crashes uselessly against the magical barrier—stopped inches from contact, leaving the paladin untouched and unshaken.
He meets the demon’s eyes. “Your rage is wasted.”
With that, he raises one gauntlet and draws a sigil in the air, a crescent-shaped brand that pulses with dark violet light. It slams into the demon’s chest and vanishes, its presence now coiled invisibly around the creature’s soul.
“Your end is mine.”
Gharzun lunges forward. His warhammer arcs in with divine precision, striking once, then again—each hit empowered by the curse now binding the demon’s fate to his own.
“Fall beneath judgment.”
OOC to DM:
Reaction: Cast Shield (+5 AC), raising AC high enough to block all three attacks
Bonus Action: Apply Hexblade’s Curse to the demon attacking him
Sparhawk will stand up on his turn and move to attack one of the creatures, using the well-made Dao maul. He will place a hunters mark on his target and use a precision attack for his first attack: 17 to hit, 22 damage, second attack 17 to hit: 27 damage.
Kos will quickly brew another healing elixir (action) and drink it (bonus action) healing for 20 hp and 15 temp hp.

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Tess fails to squirm from the grip of the invisible demon, (rolled something low in log for acrobatics) and cries out. "There's one... here". On her turn, she will use Misty step to escape, if temporarily, and again blast with a firebolt the one she can see who was hurt before. 24 to hit, 28 fire damage.
Sparhawk, rising feom the overgrown vines that cover the cave floor, smashes the orangutan-esque demon from behind, bearing it to the ground. (It will vanish, per demon rules, but the body lingers for a bit, in case theres ever anything interesring about it)
Gharzun tears into demon 2, setting him to howling. As the cave echoes with his pained screams, Tess is ripped from the ground and hurled 40ft deeper into the cavern!
(This is a monster bonus avtion on his turn once Tess was grappled.
He jumped as you've seen the other demons leap about, so she is still grappled. Does this work RAW? Meh, maybe. Its not auper harmful and i thought it was viaually interesring to have an invisible thing grab someone and leap away with them.
<Tess can still opt to misty step out of the grapple, and by defaut I assume she still will.>
Tess blasts the mandrill-lookong demon with a firebolt, but it seems only mildly hurt by the spell's effects (resistance).
From the depths of tbe cave, a white-furred brute, its head decked with a set of twisted horns, appears and ruahes Tess, tackling her with its brute strength.
{Because of the direction it ran feom, this cant be the creature that grabbed her warlier, unless it teleported to another spot in the cave, or can it?}
1. 12 for 9 plus prone
2. 25 (or, if AD: 14) for 9
<... more monster attacks, but you can post if you like. I have to get to work, irl>

<We'll call the red-faced, white-furred snow monkey-looking demon #4, while the invisible one will be #3.>
The vines sprawling over the cave floor wither as the beleaguered mandrill demon loses concentration on the spell. Bearing his chest, the demons rancid breath pours from its protruding jaws as it lets out a series of hoots. Interleaved with the self flagellation are several thrashing slaps to the nearby Koselig 22 for 9, 15 for 9. In a fit of rage, the ape bites Kos' leg 13 for 11 piercing + 13 psychic.
In the space where Tess was thrown before teleporting away, there stands a hulking silverback gorilla with rotting flesh and a split from its torso to one shoulder that opens like a hinged jaw, revealikg rows of teeth or maybe theyre ribs, its hard to twll, and a visceral mass undulates from within as it gurgles, perhaos a massive tongue, maybe malformed lungs or entrails. It's not a pretty sight, and as Tess knows, an even worse smell.
Sparhawk attacks the creature attacking Koselig (unless it will trigger an opportunity attack, if so, the one he is engaged with.) Transferring his hunters mark onto it, he makes his intent clear as he advances and attacks with the huge maul.

Oh, yeah, and on initiative 20...
The pillars pulse with abyssal energy, the room seemeimg to swell and contract like the rise and fall the chest of some great hyperventilating creature.
Tess makes the save against rhe abyssal surge, and takes 9 damage from the attack which penetrated her armor. Her glowing staff spiritual weapon whacks at the white ape for 21 to hit, 13 damage. She points at the ape desmon and a bolt pf radiant energy hits it for 20 to hit, 19 radiant damage, and it is lit by a radiant glow giving the next attack advantage.
she retreats further from the demons, but still within sparlock's aura.
The abyssal assault crashes against Gharzun like a tidal wave—but it breaks against bedrock. He snarls through the pressure, sheer will anchoring him in place.
“I’ve looked into the void and did not blink. You think pain earns victory?”
He swings his warhammer again, driving it toward the cursed fiend’s torso with measured force. The impact—should it land—is meant to punish, not just wound.
Without pause, he pivots and strikes again, though the follow-up swing is wide, disrupted by the demon’s frenzied movement or perhaps the oppressive atmosphere of the cavern itself.
“You were marked the moment you raised your claws. Yield, or break.”
OOC to DM:
Constitution Save: 25
Attack 1: To hit = 15
Potential Damage: 7 bludgeoning + 4 from Hexblade’s Curse (if it hits)
Attack 2: To hit = 11
Potential Damage: 5 bludgeoning + 4 from Hexblade’s Curse (if it hits)
Koselig will use his wand to cast Magic Missile at the closest demon to him using only one charge, which means 3 magical projectiles strike the demon for a total of 15 force damage.
"I hope there isn't some portal or rift nearby that they're coming through or we may end up being swarmed."
