Following rhe path to the left, yiu find another fork in the road. To the right, yiu slowly and meticulously teaverse tbe tunnel to another dead end, forcing you to turn back and take the other path.
Again you find yourself at a crossroads, but this time there are three paths to choose.
Your instincts tell you there's something to the left, so you follow it. For about 20ft before it turns sharply ro the right. The narrow tunnel opens up after 25ft to reveal a slate chamber.
Alternating blue and gray bands of slate and shale compose the walls of this cave. Rusted weapons lie scattered on the ground
A hulking, crudely formed figure made of gray clay charges at you from an alcove in the northeast, growling. The hilt of a pristine sword protrudes from the creature's chest.

Yeah, I'd love to if you want to PM with character creation rules. I'm not all that familiar with 2024 rules if that's what your using though, just an FYI.
<we use side initiative with the monsters taking a static initiative, as presented in the '24 rules (but we did it here first. /s). I find this largely helps avoid the broken surprise rules as they appear in '14>

It's jerky stop-motion animation-like movements becoming faster and smoother as it rushes toward the ten foot pole Sparhawk is using to probe the corridor. Grabbing the length if wood in one massive fist, it yanks the bugbear toward him, extending its arm to clothesline him as he draws nearer. (Flavor text. Slam attack)

The slight human girl clad in shining armor steps forward to the golem, and swings at it with her staff, which cracks at it with a thundrous boom. (16 to hit for 14 damage plus 12 booming blade damage.) (shilleagh plus booming blade). The golem is sheathed in booming energy and if it moves would take a further 18 damage- all assuming a 16 hit!).

A pulsing emerald beam streaks toward the golem and bursts in a spray of acid. If it hits it deals acid damage this turn and some more next turn, if it misses it just deals half damage.

Kirsten swings at the Golem with his greatsword, letting out a ferocious roar. 10 to hit, 11 slashing. Bonus Action: Shining Smite. The Golem takes an additional 5 radiant damage.
Captain Sparhawk avoids the Golems attack, stepping aside (riposte) hitting the creature (to hit 25, damage 10). He then strikes two more times gracefully and swiftly (to hit 28 for 9 damage, to hit 27 for 15 damage), so total damage: 34
(Kirby, I can try to catch you up, it's been a bit chaotic as we have had some players come and go. The short of it is we have Captain Sparhawk: a huge half-orc/ bugbear mix, Paladin, who recruited Cha!jil and Tess to help find the lost caverns after receiving a dream from his diety, Marduk. Cha!jil is a dwarf barbarian, Tess a human Cleric. Koeslig is an artificer.) We have been traveling in the wilderness, trying to find the cavern and ran into a blue dragon. After paying a a tribute of a magic item, they helped us find the cavern.) We have just recently entered, and Cha!jil got hit by a huge trap (55 damage).
Tess is a human arcana mage from greyhawk. (Of boccob). She is also on a quest to find her brother, a time and planar wanderer who’s not entirely sane. But she seems to be a strong acceptor of the path fate sends her on. She appears as a brunette girl in her 20’s, (although actually far older), who seems like she belongs in a library more than the suit of half plate she’s wearing. She currently is bashing at the golem with her quarterstaff.
