@Cacs, @Yello, @Vet: I've commented or sent back responses to you on your Heroic Chronicle results/thoughts! Most of these "comments" are simply a series of questions that may or may not be at all useful, and which you are welcome to discard at will, but were the kind of things that struck me most in terms of subjects to explore further in backstory, just in case. I'm happy to continue developing whatever you'd like, and answering any questions that arise!
Hey @tridentarii! 🙂 Thanks for the comments! I answered all the questions you left. Let me know if anything I said was not super clear or needs changing. :)
@Ares, @Cacs, @Reko, @Vet: I think I've gotten back to all of you now re: questions/notes/follow-ups, and left comments in any docs I was sent!
@Clod: I know I still owe you some potential tie-in information as to your character's reasons for being in Hupperdook, and am in the process of doing some thinking/sorting out about that and how it all might tie together. But I promise I haven't forgotten!
Anyway, just want you all to know I'm having THE BEST time reading through and discussing everyone's characters, and I love the pictures that are coming into focus.
That said, quick question for the group: As I'm seeing some potential opportunities begin to develop for spots where your characters may have had the chance to cross paths, would you like me to start setting that up / maybe establishing some group messages to discuss those options? Or would you prefer we hold off on pre-gaming those until you feel more completely settled into your character / backstory? I know the preferences on this can be variable, so I'm happy to go either way.
(Also, if there ends up being a character or two who have no obvious way to have met or become connected to anyone else in the party, we'll be getting creative and/or working on ways some of them may have come across each other in Hupperdook pre-game / may have established some kind of connection more recently! I know it's D&D, there's always a kind of hokeyness to early game reasons for parties to stick together, but I'm determined to keep the total implausibility of characters agreeing to stick together to a minimum, dammit, LOL.)
I'm totally fine with you setting up group chats for people you think may have crossed paths! I think having at least one pre-existing relationship helps the party ease in to each other.
Very excited to see what everyone came up with though! There's so much potential story between just the heroic chronicle.

I'm down to start chatting with anyone that she might have crossed paths with! 😀
I think it makes sense for the DM to start orchestrating chats where backgrounds would have overlapped. Excited to see! Also love that we’re using the heroic chronicles. I tried to get it going in a different campaign but didn’t see the adoption like we see here!

That would be awesome! Excited to hear your thoughts.
Also, I got around to responding to your questions/comments on my document! So feel free to read through and provide more comments if you want to & have the time. (Sorry in advance for writing a lot, lol.)

I realize I never responded to this. I'm happy to start discussing in groups whenever! I'll try to have a backstory/lore document ready for perusal soon.
@Yello, @Cacs: I've added any relevant comments/questions to your docs (Cacs, I just had one further not-very-important clarification question in this most recent doc), but, as always, if you want to discuss anything else, or if anything's unclear, I'm very much here for that.
Also, I've set up at least one GC with each person who said they were interested in pre-game chatting! Let me know if you have any questions about that; I'm really looking forward to seeing where you all take things and how these characters play out!
And @Reko: just for the record, I know you're undergoing an absolutely crazy week, so want to be clear that there will still be plenty of time to chat/establish a connection or two once you're back at full capacity. No rush -- hopefully you're still surviving it!

Added some more thoughts in response! Thank you for giving me stuff to think about, this has been a fun process. And let me know if you would prefer I write a more concise paragraph or two of backstory for my character once all is said and done.
@Cacs, haha, no, no problem, my question was totally unclear! Just had one follow-up that I've added to the doc. That sounds great!
@HelloYello I'm glad the process has been working okay for you! Especially since it's been so much fun on my end getting the chance to have so much back and forth with everybody from their Heroic Chronicle/outline/vague idea stage. I've added just a couple more follow-up questions to your doc -- I think maybe if you don't mind (at the end of all this) adding to the end either a bulletpoint outline/timeline of his backstory or just a little consolidated overview of events in a couple paragraphs, for just a quick reference, that'd be awesome.
And as a heads up for the group: while I work on making some adjustments to the adventure to suit our needs, and prepping for our eventual start, depending on timing I may at some point bother everybody with a couple personality-based/scenario reaction questions, too, just because I've found sometimes a hard launch from character creation to the Official Game can feel awkward? Obviously everybody discovers things about their character when playing for the first time, but just in case it makes it easier to lean in to the things about your character that you're most interested in when the time comes... If I go through with this, it would be totally optional, so if this just ends up feeling like busy work (or if you're just really busy!), you absolutely shouldn't feel obligated to engage.
@tridentarii, I answered your follow-up question, but yeah, she's also a noble. 👍 I'll go ahead and add a bullet point outline/timeline to the doc to organize everything like you suggested to HelloYello. I'll let you know when I'm done. :)
Also, question: are you using an in-game calendar for the campaign? if so, do you have an in-game date in mind for when our adventure starts?
In regards to your personality-based/scenario reaction questions, I'm down to answer them wherever you like. 🙂
@tridentarii, Thank you!! I have successfully survived all my tests and finished these portions of my qualifications, and can finally relax and actually sleep again, at least for a bit :D I would definitely be down to talk about any possible connections with the other characters! Personally, I also love the idea of some character questions, they really do help a ton at least for me when it comes to getting into character and getting that proper grasp on them for the first time when they're still fairly new.

Perfect! Thank you.
As far as an in-game calendar: good question! I think this will take place sometime in the month of Fessuran -- so basically early autumn. (Everyone can have a look at the Exandrian calendar here, if interested. And as a side note, keep in mind if you decide to reference any heavenly bodies that Exandria does have two moons! Ha.)

Yay, huge congratulations!!! Hooray, so glad to hear you at least get an opportunity to do a little sleeping now. And awesome, all of that's great to know. (That's exactly how I tend to feel with brand-new characters as well! I've found it at least helps give me a chance to warm them up a little. Sometimes characters really aren't exactly who you expect them to be.)
...either a bulletpoint outline/timeline of his backstory or just a little consolidated overview of events in a couple paragraphs, for just a quick reference, that'd be awesome.
Can do! Also, happy to answer some questiond in a more directed one-on-one scenario, sounds like a good exercise!
I would love to explore my character more via questions or any other exercise before the campaign starts! I'm a bit busy this weekend, which is why I haven't filled out the ideals, flaws, personality traits stuff yet haha. Looking forward to learning more about everyone's characters!!

Hey @tridentarii! 🙂 Thanks for the comments! I answered all the questions you left. Let me know if anything I said was not super clear or needs changing. :)
@Reko Awesome! I’ll message you once I’ve had a chance to look through that to discuss. (Hope things this week are going okay so far!)
@Cacs Sweet! Will plan to take a look at that, then.

@tridentarii, I answered your comments on docs. 👍 Lemme know if you have any more questions. :)
