Astrid, unaccustomed to the bright light streaming in from the next room, shields her eyes.: "It's a clock, my friends. Time is of the essence!"
Astrid hasn't come into the room yet, but from her vantage point (at the knees of those standing in the doorway), can she see any other exits from the room?
"A clock, that's clever." Inspired by the idea to mark wherever they've been, Jax heads over to the biggest rock. For a brief second she looks at her claws, but then shakes her head and puts the rapier to use. She decides on carving a "J", remembering that it had been done in the first room as well. Besides, J was her letter, so she loved the convenience of it. Just for good measure she does put both paws on the stone and attempts to rock it, just to see if it is immovable or not.
There is another exit on the other side of the room, yes. The stones and rocks, as far as you can tell, just look like ordinary stones and rocks. And yes, they are movable, and taking or touching the stones seems to produce no other effect other than that.
Jax, can you make a DC10 DEX (acrobatics or athletics) check for me please?
Jax, as you are carving your initial "J" into one of the stones and attempt to move it, your left foot/paw "slips into" the shadow as it moves around the stone. This startles you for a moment, but your quick reflexes allow you to pounce aside just in time, so you don't "fall in". Your heart pounding in your chest, you realize shadows don't do that. Normally.
Keksi, who was heading to the exit to the next room, stops. "Now wait a moment, that's something of interest! Lets see how deep these shadows go."
She takes a 50' rope out of her backpack, ties one end around her waist, ties the other end around a torch, lights the torch with her tinderbox and tosses the torch in one of the shadows.
How do the shadows react to the light of the torch, and does the torch "hit the bottom"?
Kyah attempts to climb on to the tallest stone, he looks around the room to see if anything resembling a statue is around (note: he tries to find a humanoid looking statue for those are the ones he's heard as being called statues).
The ropes goes down about 10 feet before it hits the bottom. You notice that as the shadow moves, and when it hits another shadow, the shadows intermingle creating a larger "compartment". As they move apart from each other, the shadows "severs" whatever is at floor level as they move apart - the rope gets clipped and you're left holding a rope that's about 12 feet shorter, now. You can only imagine what would happen should a live being get stuck down there.
"Well, I'm glad I didn't ask someone to lower me in, haha..."
Keksi puts her now 38' rope back in her backpack.
"I'm not seeing anything but a deathtrap here, maybe we should move on?" She starts heading towards the next exit again, looking back to see if anyone is following.

Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?
Keksi looks around the room briefly. "Doesn't look like there's anything for us here. Lets go?"

Be careful where you all step.

I suggest to Keksi, “you just have to move quicker. That’s all. Let’s send the cat down there!”
