The boss of the advance team (Indina Jonz) tells you that there had been rumours of an increase in giant sightings and attacks in the area. There is talk that a new leader has taken over the hill giants who is forging alliances with the ogre tribes and other giant clans (frost and fire) from up in the Spine of the World.
In a perfect world you should probably be a couple of levels higher to take on giants, they do so much freakin' damage and a bad round could easily take out one or more of you. On the other hand you do have the 3 artefact weapons and the vampiric ring, if properly used they will balance things out. So my warning to you is DON'T get cornered. These are intelligent opponents and you will be on their turf.
"Is this going to impact your research?" Fah'lin ask Indina, as he climbs out from under the pile of fallen giants.
"If a group like that shows up on a regular basis... yes. Could your group track them back to their camp? It is always better to be proactive, if we just sit here and defend we are at their mercy."
"Hmm, let me think about this for a moment," requests Gijigume, "we go to their camp so all of them can beat us up at once: That'll be a big 'no' from me. Haven't you ever heard of divide on conquer? We ought to ambush small groups as they approach here, on a ground of our choosing."

Arya "That may work once or twice but if they have any brains it won't be small groups coming here (just here or are others in the mountains being attacked?) it'll be a large group hunting us. We should at least find there camp, that way if we set up an ambush we'll know where they are coming from." She walks up to a body and looks at a foot, its longer than her arm "Yep, I think I could track that."
"Lets track them back to their camp, and decide out next move once we have more information. We may want to set up an ambush for their next hunting party, or for their resupply." Fah'lin offers. "How will you defend yourselves while we're away?" He asks Indina.

Indina "We have more bodies now and some of our new people do have some minor magic talent. More to the point you will be between us and the giants."
You used a lot of resources in that fight, do you want to rest first?
I need Tarnce's action before the giants go. He could kill one of them.
I'm home now. I also have a headache that would kill a bull elephant. Didn't sleep well last night and then had a 5 hour drive.

Yes, lets make our move tomorrow.

You have a long rest and recover from the battle. To track the giants and ogres you will need a DC 15 Survival check. Arya has a go 12

I assume you mean ‘help’ for advantage so 10. Nope still no good. Do any of you others have any skill in Survival?
"You don't last long at sea if you can't look after yourself," states Gijigume. "The sea doesn't care whether or not you survive."
OOC: Survival roll: 5.
Fah'lin will try and help him too?

OOC: Advantage attempt, if possible: 21.
Thar is of course generally most useless at tracking. Roll: 7 And this is no exception for once the tracks get outside our campsite he loses them.
Aeliarin gives it a shot, with Guidance from above.
