i am looking for players who enjoy lots of roleplaying, but who are willing to take combat seriously. also i enjoy a good laugh and hearty humor. i dont care for skill checks and will most likely let you pass if you can roleplay well enough, but in combat i let the dice completely decide the outcome. if you roll a one i let you decide how massive your failure, but if you roll a twenty i also let you decide how great your success. this will stay open for a few weeks as i work on the story and world.
i feel like i should add more, but i cant think what, i guess ill let you guys decide that.
Sounds good. This is for regaining a spell slot, in addition to a long rest (unless we have a Warlock), right?
Are you thinking of expanding this to other features, that recharge on short/long rests, or if we think to extend it sooner? Example, Eyes of Night:
"As an action, you can magically share the darkvision of this feature with willing creatures you can see within 10 feet of you, up to a number of creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one creature). The shared darkvision lasts for 1 hour. Once you share it, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of any level to share it again."
So, let's say my Wis is 2. That means that I always have 300 ft of DV, and can extend it to 2 others, for an hour. Most creatures DV is 120, giving us a 180 ft advantage. This means that I, or someone near me, would need Message to really take advantage of the 180 ft advantage, or, if we decide, then I could expand a spell slot to give it to the rest of the party, if we think flanking will be a good combat option, as one choice, and use this to regain a slot.
so. its a little different. what i was thinking was that mid combat you could regain a spell slot to cast a spell right then. it would be like drawing from your own life to cast a spell real quick. so you would have to tell me how much dice worth of damage you would take from activating such features more than the normal amount of times.

Ok. Looks fun, either way, and we can sort of experiment OOC, as to what is most effective and fun as we RP. At L1, I've 3 cantrip, 2 spell slots, but can have 6 spells prepared, counting my domain spells, and 2 of which can be rituals.
I'm ready Friday, on. Maybe a "session 0," just to make sure the new guy to 5e is up to speed.
I am ready whenever everyone is ready. I agree in having a session 0. Looking forward to start the campaign.

Good lucky! My Cleric casts Bless for you! ;)
As I believe that communication is important, I wanted to mention a few things, to be supportive in and out of character.
1. Vigilant Blessing: As an action, you give one creature you touch (including possibly yourself) advantage on the next initiative roll the creature makes. This benefit ends immediately after the roll or if you use this feature again.
For this, my main idea, for the most part, is to cast this on myself, because this will increase the chances to go first, so that I can cast Bless on 3 party members, right off the bat. Or, if we're in a situation where we need DV, I can extend my 300 ft DV to others, within limits, followed by Bless. Again, to give the party advantages.
As I'm still fairly new to D&D, I think this would be great for our action economy, but don't want to come off as "all about me," so wanted some feedback on this strategy. Bless can also stack with other bonuses, including Bardic Inspiration. This would allow 1d4 + 1d6.
2. There are various Optional spells, feats, etc (like in Tasha's), and was wondering if they are included, right out, or if it will be a "wait until it comes up?" Would we be implementing sidekicks, hirelings, or similar? If so, I assume we wouldn't be using those that could break the game, like an Avatar of Death (ranked 0)?
3. Will we be able to use Rest Casting? I just came across it, and seems interesting. There's a few Cleric spells (at higher levels) that this would help benefit the party, once I have a better understanding of how it works.

TY for your time and feedback!
2: I'm okay with whatever.
3: I have no problems with this. And if any other party members want to use this I am cool with that. It actually sounds very interesting and I like it a lot. Good work lumin!
See you all tomorrow for a session zero. In the mean time I will set up a PM chat for you guys to chat in and work on characters together.
Thank you all again for joining! I hope you enjoy!!
